It is a good Idea but in practice its a pain in the ass swapping blades because no matter how well we clean the trowel there is always some on the track and the handle does not want to come off. Try it for a month then make an updates on how you find it
Great to know these are back on the market. I've been using the HART version for a few years now. Keep them clean, tighten the screw at the back of the handle if things get loose and they're very durable. For burning your surface or backs of really large tile, being able to switch away from the notches while maintaining control & pressure is a real bonus imho. Thanks for the video!
Wow! I guess "Hart" who now makes 20v power tools for Walmart, lost exclusivity on their pattent. They have or had the same EXACT kit, except for the 1/4-3/8 and the Tiger Euro but they did include a flostvfor grout. I have this, Hart, kit and one thing to remember is to KEEP THAT HANDLE CLEAN! Thinset & Mastic can muck up the blade lock making the handle slide up and down. A real Pain in D arse. Other than that I LOVE this kit. Wish it had the Float though! GO BERG!
I met the guy that invented this at Coverings in Chicago over twenty years ago. His proto type was more rustic than this sleek looking tool. However, back then you had to buy all the blades as a kit, even if you only wanted to replace one. Can you buy the blades individually? Are you able to reverse the blades for left handers?
@@matthewlall4277 you should be able to do all of that. The handle is removable so you can position it however you like. Lefty, Righty, in the Middle, at the End, does not matter. Although the fit is unverified, you can still buy separate "Hart" Blades & Handles on Ebay.
Hart had this out which I loved..included a grout float also. I bought a few of the kits bc I loved the idea but unfortunately the welds started braking on the trowel to runners:( but still love the idea..guess I'm gonna have to try these.
I would’ve loved to hear how these trowels felt during use. How rigid and sturdy they felt and if they felt like a quality tool that would hold up to the every day use of setting. I want to know if I can use and abuse these like I would a set of marshaltowns
We have used them ever since this review. The quality is much better than I expected. The handle is solid and the steel is really good quality and sharp!
Incorrect, our handle is tight as it was new. On our 10th shower remodel and 10th tile floor install. We install Schluter so we switch multiple trowels per project. I show it off again in this Saturday's video and the steel used is top quality and sharp! Have you tried this kit??
@@LandbergTileTV not that exact one, but the equivalent sold over here by Genesis. The work I do is large commercial contracts and average 15/20 metres a day (18/25 y2). The locking mechanism is not cut out for the rigours of site work and I suspect the same could be said of the set of the set you're plugging here, seeing as everything looks exactly the same.
by experience, this kit is one in a while use, I used it for some time, but the handle started to losing up after some use. Not for profesional setters.
Probably like the Genesis set sold over here in the UK. If you're a professional tiler save your money. The handle, after a couple of weeks use, becomes loose and the bases start sliding off the handle when you're doing walls. Good idea poorly made.

Thank you for always sharing the latest tile tools. You deserve 10 times the subscriber's!
Brilliant idea! And they put thought into the lock system, AND the case???!! Mind blown.
Already have this in a hart brand, came with a grout float and 3 trowels. Love it

@@LandbergTileTV great to know. Thank you for your videos
Bro your thinset is pink!! 😳
He's still trying to 'Conquer the Inner B***' 🤣😂
Can you buy the blades only?
Yes you can, here is one of many links www.tiletools.com/product/switchblade-trowel-blades-accessories/
Save your money and buy different notched trowels as you need them. It's a great idea but the handle becomes loose after half a dozen uses.

There is a screw on the handles to tighten them up if they get loose
Was it me or was your thin set tinted pink made me want a strawberry cupcake
Food coloring lol, helps with video effect showing off the trowel ridges..
Do you still use this? I've seen a lot of reviews saying the handle broke.
Yes, rock solid blade set
