My daughter just started kindergarten and I cant wait to show her Bill Nye and others in the science or engineering field in hopes she'll like it too. I still remember the greatest roast I’ve ever heard. It happened around the topic of Bill Nye in my high school science class. My science teacher was this a very fun guy who always tried to make it somewhat fun. My teacher was asked why he didn’t show Bill Nye and he replied “it’s because he’s a comedian who thinks he’s a scientist.” And without hesitation one student replied, “and you’re a scientist who thinks he’s a comedian.”

I love how Bill answered the "why should we listen to you?" question. Understanding and evaluating scientific discoveries starts with a good education. What we can see we know, what we can only discuss is meant to be discussed with the intention of sorting through what we know. This is why politics should never determine what sciences we learn in school.

He’s a disgusting person I would never let near my kids and didn’t! By the way Mr. Science guy I made believers out of the top doctors at Johns Hopkins! They bullied me wanting me to sign a DNR for my husband who was on life support and had full on septic shock three times! I said to Arab Muslim doctors Jesus will come and he better be alive when he gets here! Of course they were very frustrated using words like no one can survive this! He did and when Jesus healed him it was no doubt who did it and they were mumbling impossible and searching their test results and saying this patient can’t live! I said you were saying on Friday it would take many years before he spoke well again? This is Monday and I just made him speak fluently to you in three languages! It was then one miracle after another. One thing after another they called impossible on Friday but Monday someone flipped a switch! They hung their heads and I said say it! They said this is a miracle because there’s no other explanation! When you walk with God miracles follow and I really feel sorry for people like Bill Nye and he doesn’t dictate to me how to raise my kids who are grown. My kids saw the miracles in our lives and our friends lives! My husbands aortic dissection was not the first miracle we had. By the way my husband was only person Duke had ever saw live to walk out the door and they knew exactly who did the healing! They filed in his room every morning and the doctor said class this man should be dead! The test say he should be dead! God healed him called a miracle and Duke doesn’t drop the ball! This man is dangerous to children and trying to indoctrinate this generation into calling God a fairy tale! By the way Bill Nye don’t talk about God and Science being against each other because it’s not! God is the author of Science and nature! You are blind! Don’t worry! God will make a believer out of you! You just better hope it’s not too late!

While adults are still learning too, there comes a time when an adult should know better (or be able to figure something out better) than a lot of these people asking things like “why should I believe some scientist with a PhD?” or “has evolution even been pRoVeN?¿?” I’d be frustrated too lol

I mean it does regard a fundamental basis of the scientific method that not many people think about because it rarely has to be considered, that it's pointless to try to prove something which can't be proven in the first place. It's regrettably one of the aspects of science that fall short compared to theology (unproven ideas can be explained and accepted as works of the unnatural) but at least in regards to what it does prove, it can generally do so strongly.

In terms of evolution, one key thing we see, that proves we are still evolving, is that the gene for the number of teeth you develop and the gene for jaw size are on separate chromosomes. After centuries of eating softer foods, compared to our ancient ancestors, jaw size has begun to shrunk with decreased mastication requirements while tooth number has remained stable until recently where we are now seeing people that never develop wisdom teeth; giving evidence that these genes are under flux.
