One of the things I'm most annoyed about this update is that a lot of ubers STILL don't have 3rd forms, and they're already rolling out 4th forms despite that. Hell I would've been so much more hyped if they added Legend Rare 3rd forms before working on 4th forms.
It would even fit! Legend rares were in 8.0 (i fhink) and it would be 5.0 since 8.0 (that sounds dumb)
On top of that, most ubers still don't have base Talents. Volta has been waiting for years...

@@unindentifiedchannel2587 LMAOO, jokes aside tho, I meant more generally, like, at the very least give every legend rare a TF before stumbling over to 4th forms that needs a ton of Dcatseyes and resources to even get. A ton of people by midgame-early UL would've rolled at least one legend rare, but the odds of having enough Dcatseyes for a level 60 at that point is somehow rarer.
Like I somehow have four legend rares but only 2 ubers at level 60. It'd be nice if they focused more on the actual general/casual players rather than just the ones who whale to get resources.
Cause the current best ways to farm for Dcatseyes are Level 20 Barons (which are a pain depending on the baron.) Labyrinths (which although is pretty good for dcatseyes but for some reason hasn't made a return in months,) Infernal tower late floors, (I'm bad at the game 😭.) And of course, whaling.

This update defeats the whole purpose of "True Forms" - the final and strongest form a unit is supposed to have. The awesomeness of a unit getting "True Forms" would now lose its value because there is still another form that surpasses it.
It's kinda like the Super Saiyan God form in Dragon Ball. Super Saiyan God is supposed to be some sort of "legend among legends" thing, this is what made it so special. However, this form kinda got forgotten because of the existence of stronger forms like SSGSS and Ultra Instinct.

It was never stated TF’s were the end all be all of a unit, and for many players fourth forms are still heavily out of reach. Getting a true form of a unit does not diminish it’s value either because a lot of strats still and will always revolve around true forms because of their accessibility. And no, OP, a fourth form doesn’t make a true form magically weaker through the power of witchcraft of whatever delusion you’re under.

I'd have prefered Alternative forms instead of these, rather than having a next level, have an alternative TF that made the unit work different, I feel that would give more freedom to how they are designed as well.

Yeah, DH and US were the main inspirations for my idea, I'd like if DH could retain or even expand their targets, and it would be cool if Ultra Souls could like regress to their first forms but still get some sort of buff, it's a shame that the only spammable UR have to be first forms.
This could also open the way to small Epic Fest Ubers forms and such, I think it's a shame forms seem to be only going upwards.
We already have that. Seasonal ubers. But having a drastic change like changing resistance into massive damage would make the unit lost characteristic and identity. It happened on lots of gacha games.
I'm not talking about changes that would drastically alter their identity, units like Ultra Souls and Elemental Pixies could benefit for a different and improved take on their 1st forms, and it could bring new life to other units in a sense where they could take on a slightly different role.
It's true that Seasonals kinda fit this niche, but those are very scarce, I'm just suggesting the changes be lateral instead of upwards.

This is probably the one thing that i'm worried about and this was the same thought ever since Ultra Talents got released and it is game balancing.
Ok hear me out I like the idea of Ultra Talents and 4th form but what i REALLY hated about this is that its locked off by level 60. And you know what happens with units reaching higher level? Higher stats.
With the implementation of UT and 4th form combined with high stats means that game balancing will change. You see what happened with the existence of Courier. Many behemoths with high stats appeared and the same goes with Luza. What was initially thought to be the counter for Megamojoe ended up becoming the birth of Ibilujon which is one of the worst behemoths to exist in this game.
Now with 4th forms. I'm afraid of newer level stage design and newer enemies coming out. You see what happen to Windy. Having Insane damage and Nyandam like range means tougher floating enemy stages. And that's only without talents. With talents she's busted. Like yeah i like big numbers but this is too much. Same goes with other ubers that have UT like W&P, Coppermine and Shingen. With level 60 and UT they're busted for their specific niches. And this is only the beginning. We don't know what other busted stuff will come out with UT and 4th form.
Going to your opinion about lower rarity. I thought about it and i agree. They really should just focus on them more than Ubers. If they focus on these ubers with UT and 4th form only that means most of the stage's difficulty are based around the high stats of those said ubers.
I'm sorry if i sound like i'm complaining about this but man I just hate that this game goes further with high stats vs high stats. Yeah game's 11 years old now but damn. We already have barons and behemoths and what did they do? Give units with high stats to fight against them and they are ONLY focusing on ubers like wtf. Ponos i know you want money but this is just scummy and greedy.

Then how do you suggest the game keep progressing? Sure they can keep making new enemies for super late game players but if the enemy stats stop increasing then there’s no need for cat units to get stronger then at that point the game becomes a puzzle game, when the battle cats has always been a game about progression at heart.
You can't really compare Windy to someone like Courier or Luza because she's an Uber while the others are free units that are "easy" to get.
@@greenhat7618 If it keeps increasing then we are slowly just getting to a point where enemies are gonna 1HKO Eraser and Eraser is the core meatshield to the whole game.
Also "puzzle game"? The game's a strategy game. The whole game revolves around making different line ups for different stage. It's all diverse and it's always been like that from the beginning. It's what you so call it "puzzle game". However recent stages are just being higher stats vs higher stats which slowly ruins the entire point of the game having strategy and it saddens me.
@@someguy5048 Most of the recent stages revolves around high enemy stats which means more usage of ubers. And with more usage ubers means higher difficulty. You've seen Baron stages and Starred UL stages that are focusing on higher enemy magnification so the whole recent difficulty spike revolves around using ubers. Like some Legend cats that you get for free are not as strong as ubers which is why not many people use them on those stages. These stages limits the usage of many lower rarity units but with units like Courier and Luza it's an exception because they changed the whole point of their niche when they exist now.

They BETTER add more ways to get Dcatseye and Uber catseye in the next couple' of updates because with the increasing appearance of Ultra Talents and now these new 4th form cats, we're going to need A LOT of them.
I (rebbydoesstuff) was the guy who expressed my annoyance at the “boost and resources” necessary for the 4th forms and I found it kinda funny that the immediate Lucas take was that I was talking about exclusively bgems and special fruits when less than a few chat prompts later he went on a rant about Dark eyes/Lv 60 which was what I was getting at in the first place lmao

We got Uril, Bean Cats and the Brainwashed units true forms recently so that's a start but there's still quite a lot to do before we need to add yet another possible form/talent feature for ubers to add more progression.
UL legends were just "recently" added. They aren't getting talents any time soon.

@@Azmie11I don’t think Dogu or Urs even need talents rn either. They’re both pretty dang good units, it’s just that Naala, Doron, and Luza are insane units at a base level and Dogu/Urs are confined to their niches.
I think 13.0 was a throw away update. As 13 is a bad number in English ( 4 in japan). They glossed over update 4 too. Probably didn't want all their ul work to come down to bad luck
They didn't like 13.0, so they skipped multiple version 12 updates straight to 13...? Interesting hypothesis, but that makes PONOS look dumber.
I like the idea of 4th forms being a sort of rebalance attempt for units. The thing is though, is that it is just ANOTHER rebalancing mechanism like talents and orbs. The reason why units don't release with true forms is because Ponos wants to see the unit in action before deciding on how to buff it for a true form. The main point of why 4th forms need to exist that you made in the video is that it allows for Ponos to implement crazier mechanical changes, like range, multi hits, and funky ld shenanigans. But at that point, why not just rebalance the unit? For my knowledge, Battle Cats has never had a proper rebalance of units.
Now, I don't think Ponos needs to nerf overpowered units, its a single player game, nobody's forcing you to roll for OP units. There's no PvP mode that forces players to abide by the metagame. But for the lame units that just don't see action, why do we need 4th forms or ultra talents? Why can't we just have a balance change update? The only reason I could perceive is cuz "Muh greedy company", but that's a boring response to what I feel is an interesting idea.
Why don't we have balance changes in Battle Cats? Why not just make it so all of Windy's forms have insane damage instead of massive damage? Why not make all her 4th form changes part of her true form? The only reason I can really think as to why we should have 4th forms/ultra talents is because these buffs are only necessary for the late game and would be busted for the early game. But even then, people get carried by busted ubers all the time, so the addition of 4th forms seems kinda pointless when you could just rebalance the unit.
gacha games don't do balance patches for a reason, if you spent money on a unit and then its nerfed or smth, then people get mad cuz its not the product you paid for

@@thump989 I 100% understand that, I'm talking purely on buffing units, not nerfing them. Since battle cats is mainly a single player experience, there is no real need to nerf units. Buffing however, is purely beneficial to all parties.
@@meepswag35 Which is why I am not asking for nerfs for any reason. I stated in my comment that Battle Cats doesn't need nerfs as its a single player game. Instead, I'm more opting for just buffing units that need it instead. It increases appeal for gacha rollers, and helps with usage rates for people who already have them.

i feel like ponos is trying to move the game away from like strategies everyone can do to like playing with the ubers that you have, like i'm assuming their just trying to make ubers more expected at this point.
Maybe that's why seed tracking hasn't been shut down yet. But at the same time it hurts the players who actively don't play the gacha and play the game because of how non-gacha friendly it is.

For Rares and Super Rares, plus levels exist so they can get to level 60, but for Specials something else has gotta be implemented for that

At this state of the game 4th forms we’re NOT necessary yet, I honestly just want to just Rebalance, nerf or buff cat units, it would be better just fixing bad characters, instead of insanely expensive and grindy methods to potentially fix them.
And second of all, so many Ubers don’t even have TFs, like… uberfest and epic, they should have TFs, maybe just not so hard to get TFs that don’t change much since they are overpowered, but Iz and Garu would really need a big boost in a TF.

I do wish we could've got 4th forms initially instead of ultra talents. These are so much better.

at that level, everyone is so strong already that any changes made to them will be good regardless
for example, if akira's aku typing talent were added as regular talent, it will be shit because he doesn't have key ability to fight aku
but it works as Ultra Talent because Lv60 provides all necessary stats to pull it out
Yeah, I hadn't played the game for a while and when I heard about the new "Ultra Talents" and that Klay got traitless targetting, I evolved him, just to find out I need level 60?? Which I didn't even knew was a thing at the time. Dark catseyes are way too hard to get, and locking all of these evolutions and talents behind them is way too grindy. And in a Labyrinth playthrough, you might only get enough for one level 60 uber.
12:59 Honestly even though I use extreme uber carry i still really want talents for shigong and rover given they are really important units to have in general. Supercat would also be nice since it has potential but has been forgotten about by ponos

When i first saw 4th form i was kinda excited, but now that you say it, it does feel like a massive cash grab. I think they could fix the issue if maybe you can unlock 4th form at lvl 50 (so theres a chance all cats can have one instead of only ubers), i thunk this would make more sense because if you wanted ulyra talents then you push to lvl 60, i know this is a bad comparison since i dont really grind alot but i have colected like a total of 13 dark cats eyes since they where added, and i really dont think it would matter if they increased the cost for 4th form if you only needed lvl 50
They could arbitrarily decide that other rarities can be 4th formed at level 50 just like how some special cat true forms are unlocked at level 20.
Ultimately they can be like "oh but you can do 50+10" and laugh as people whale
Heavenly tower was made to give players more access to catfruit, seeds, and tickets.
Infernal tower was made to give players more access to catseye, gold/aku/relic/epic seeds, and a variety of materials.
I could see a third tower being made in the far off future for items like stones, gems, more dark catseye, even more materials, and whatever new items Ponos may introduce in the future.
Imagine talents for basic cats, eraser cost reduction and health boost for the win 🥶
As someone who started 2 weeks ago, and just got Oda Nobunaga AND Momotaro yesterday, I am quite hyped, even tho I am still in EoC c3 still, but I am happy they get cooler :3

I still don't know how I feel about the 4th forms. Money, Ponos as a company, I understand that, but the 4th forms are so unecessary. I am happy that Windy, as my first uber, was one of the first to get one.
One thing I want to add is that I question their commitment to the 4th forms, as you have shown is that there is only 14 units have received Ultra talents despite them being a thing sense the beginning of this year, and even if they were hell bent on focusing on ubers, there are other, more acceptable options. Like a new legend rare true form, we havent had one since the same update with Ultra talents. Which was back in January. Maybe give some of the colossus slayers a true form like Hanzo for instance. I would personally prefer more of a focus on non uber cats, maybe not a new advent, but perhaps new gacha non limited rare/ super rare would be cool! Perhaps an addition to the limited units or perhaps a crazed / brainwashed / lil superfiline is in the cards. So many ideas, yet they chose THIS! I am just spitballing here, so probably some or even all of these ideas suck.
Lets not forget to mention the very real possibility of the meta shifting to Ubers to an unparalleled extent and ultimately obliterating the meta for non cc super rare / rare /special cc units, which would pretty much ruin the game.
The only major complaints I have with the update are that the 4th forms require 15 Darkseyes, which is scarce as hell, and the fact that now they have a second thing to do besides ultra-talents. Now PONOS has to do another thing for the game and im pretty sure that one of these is going to end up half-assed innfavor of the other. They should have either stuck with ultra-talents or not done them at all. Not only that, where are things like the Legend true forms, we got it for babel at 12.2 and literally nothing else. They could have at least bothered to once in a while add one.

Slime is great as is stands there is no need yet for a true form, same deal with boulder and most fest ubers.

I wish super cat true form is like super feline where it just gets even smaller but somehow 4 times as strong but in my opinion the true form should knock back and instead of wave blocker it has wave reflector but to compensate for how broken this could be for wave stages make it have even less range than before

The biggest problem is that if getting catfruits and behemoth remains the same this forms will literally be almost impossible to get and to just upgrade some new abilities that will do not much in the bigger picture
ponos is just pwercreeping ubers up to 11 because to get specific ubers sometimes you have to spend money on the agme and i agree shigong and catelite deserve talents
Tbh, if these 4 forms are going to be insanely busted and possibly game changing, they should keep dark eyes extremly rare, except when your in really late game, cause if dark eyes were common, ponos might make starred zl balanced around 4 form ubers. But they should really make a different dark eye farming then labyrinth, becauss you can only go as far as the amount of units you have, which isn't really fair.
I really hope they add a way to craft dark eyes through Ototo Corps. It would be nice if we could merge one or even two of every cat eye and get a single dark cat eye.

I don't get why they limit these things to just ubers, I saw 4th forms and I really want them to be for behemoth egg cats, to give them another form other than just a dang egg, but I guess that might not happen.
There's many cats that would get a lot of help with true forms or ultra talents yet they add 4th forms and still dont make dark eyes easier to get.
I would much rather have them jump ship with ultra talents given how expensive of an np investment they are. I can afford to grind 15 dark eyes. I cannot afford 200+ np per talent for Ubers

Having 4th forms is really cool, but the execution is weird, only a couple cats are getting them so far, and it still feels like some cats are waiting on 3rd forms or talents

The talent orb thing shouldn’t matter tbh. Insane damage is a much better upgrade and that orb can go to something else considering windy already has 70k dos to floatings lmao
I imagine they are locking the 4th forms to Ubers because they are deathly afraid of what a potential ramen or cameraman 4th form could unleash upon the world

I expect ponos to make darkeyes cavern i gamatoto to make 15% chance to get 1 eye per hour. But you need to have at least 9 golden recruits, 1 legend rare recruit. And 150 lvl gamatoto and 16000 user rank.

Dark Eyes are a pain to get, you either have to fight the LV 20 Colossus Bosses (for 1), Complete floors 40 -50 of Infernal tower (new update, JP only), or try to get to floor 50 of the Underground Labyrinth (way too long, boring, happens only every 2-3 months, but can get 2-7 eyes).
I mean you _could_ do 11 pulls in the *non-guaranteed* gacha, but that's a waste of catfood.
What do you mean? I love having to farm Dark Catseyes in order to make Dio usable!
Me (as a mid game player) can't even get 4th forms because they gatekeep all the new cool stuff for super-late game players in zl
Iirc 4th form dioramos has 21k dps so you can probably understand it being difficult to get

4th forms are hype but i am very scared to see some of my favorite units get shafted with their 4th and probably final true form. Mainly im looking at my boys the lugas. And mainly mainly im looking and nekoluga. I feel like he deserves a really good 4th form since all of his talents plus his ultra talents suck ass. Not to mention his brothers and sisters do his niche way better. Id like to see him as a damage dealer, either with waves or a savage blow ability. Hell give him a new ability to do savage waves or some shit. I feel like for the very first uber in the game, they have fucked him into obscurity.

I really hope these get used for units other than ubers, or at least give some rares/super rares ultra talents + access to dark catseyes. Gonna be pretty sucky if they just limit it to rng based gacha ubers
Imo dcatseyes should remain exclusive to ubers unless they make them more attainable. Rares ans super rares actually have possible to obtain + levels as well so its not really necessary
@@dinoaurus1 ok, good point. I hadn't thought about +levels, although it was mostly for ultra talents. Certain units could become a lot more viable/ useful with them unlockled, cough *cat toaster* cough
@@Frying-the-snow i dont really like the idea ultra talents either, though the main reason for that is the insinuation that units like can can and cyberpunk will get them as well. It would be pretty nice if it was just kept to bad units like toaster or tathagata

I have gotten a lot of mileage oht of Coppermine, I think her strongest tool is how cost efficent/fast she can be deployed for the damage she can deal. Its also funny to turn her into a specific trait burner by giving her two attack orbs of the same trait. She is just a fun unit, definitely felt worth the dark catseyes. I tend to prioritize untis I feel have potential/units I like

The other idea with 4th forms that would have been great is if the did like a "dark hero's" thing and make the 4th form a completely different use for the cat. Thinking closer to Bahamut/ A. Bahamut. But whatever we'll see if (like you said) they add this for non Uber. Sighhhhh
Omg please ponos make units like normal lion cat and unicycle cat useable! They are fun units with interesting mechanics that are victims of no gimmicks and unuseable stats.
