It may have disappeared, but I doubt this is the end of it. I think this is more of a lead in to Justice U, the series that Diggle was gonna headline. Love how the first original character in the Arrowverse still plays a big role in the Arrowverse
To be honest i think they did this to cancel the green lantern idea and resolve that storyline. He doesn't want to accept his destiny in "this" reality and chose to be a father.
If not this would be a pointless scene..

DC probably wouldn't allow lantern anyway, so they basically just came with this to complete his story.
With CW having new owners it looks like they're moving away from the super hero stuff. Gotham Knights is the only new show but that's mainly because they had a contract and started filming before the sale of CW. This was just a way to end his story since they aren't making him a lantern.

Green rings find their hosts, the white lantern just lands on earth and let’s a host find it if I remember correctly.
Ganthet gave Kyle Rayner his ring. The ring didn’t find him. Ganthet saw something in Kyle, which was good because he later becomes the White Lantern during the Darkest night (black lanterns [undead])/Brightest Day arch. Great story arch btw.

One look at the box and Thawne knew _exactly_ what it was. He obviously knows what it's made of, but when he looked at it the first time when Diggle walked in, he had an 'oh shit' look on his face. He _probably_ knows what's inside.
What about Hal though? Is he already a Lantern? I've got this suspicion that John's real last name isn't 'Diggle'. It would totally be cool if it turned out that Diggle's last name was originally Stewart.

It's not a Lantern Ring. Someone pointed out it was made by Madrakk who is a corrupt monitor. So we likely will see what it is later.

As Diggle rejected the ring, perhaps it will now find someone who is worthy. It probably will be either the real John Stewart, of this universe or Hal Jordan if they want to change his origin where he inherits the ring from Abin Sur.

The Orrey Of Worlds. Looks like this Thawne is more knowledgable than the last time he returned to Team Flash which was back in Season 7. Also, this is probably more evidence to my theory that this isn't a Green Lantern ring as it has been forged in The Orrey of Worlds and probably in the 5th dimension or at Maltus cause it was transmatter technology and has the bleed hidden inside by Mandrakk.

It is actually becoming tired that Diggle almost accepts the ring and then chooses not to become a Green Lantern.

If people knew as most don't, that the CW can not get the rights to the Green Lantern IP due to legal reason people would know he was never going to be a GL on screen in the CW even before this arc started. this was the reason they created the Diggle character, they actually wanted John Stewart before Arrow was in early pre development but DC said they were not able to give them the IP rights.

He traveled into the Future to stop Eobard Thawne from becoming the next Flash, based on Actions he hadnt done yet-- which created the Reverse Flash in the first place

Tell me what you all think of this idea. The way to rectify the situation is by making John the green lantern of Earth 2 in a Alan Scott way. It seems that the CW is allowed to do that version of the character so you replace that version of Alan Scott and name him John Stewart, but still give him the Alan Scott version and replace Jade with Sarah so that we get a multiverse version of those characters.
Love that they’ll do anything but make him GL. He’d fit into the Superman and Lois universe perfectly.
I think that this was a test by the guardians frfr and he passed it so I still think he's gonna become green lantern so yea
wasnt the ring supposed to choose its carrier? meaning if it didnt open up to John, then he isnt worthy probably.. we all know the ring literally travels the whole planet to find the suitable one and make him wear it

yes the ring just flies to its new bearer once the old one relinquishes it, unless the ring and bearer come to a consensus that person the bearer chooses is worthy. they dont hide themselves inside of boxes like a yugioh puzzle. then again this is the CW, I doubt a single writer has ever seen the cover of a comic book, let alone cracked one open.

@@nathanieldiaz5254 CGI was always a problem. But the first two seasons had actual good villains with thought-out plans that we witnessed them proceed with for the long run. We like the first 2 seasons because the villains had a humanity to them, all while wanting to kill Barry right there on the spot.
The voices he’s referring too made me think maybe it’s the guardians but I could be wrong

Actually some rings can be used by people that haven't been chosen. I do know that not all rings are made equal and sometimes its not even a ring. There's a gauntlet that isn't even powered by the normal source. It absorbs will from the nearby planets.

Since Thawne traveled back in time from the late 22 century, and not from the 23 century the way he made it sound like he did, at least to me at first, he should already know what's in that box. A Green Lantern Ring is supposed to be in there and I wish he would've to told Diggle exactly that not only to appease me and other fans, but so Diggle would fully understand stand what he was giving up.
I dont think its a lantern ring if it was usually it would just slide on his finger like it often did in comics and some other media and not appear in a box.
Also Thawne was only asking Diggle to show it for his benefit to escape Argus and not really to help Diggle so in a way Thawne wasnt really helping him but he was only helping himself.

Not really. Oliver choose to sacrifice himself instead of Barry & Kara. Yeah the time travel stuff moved up Crisis but Oliver could’ve left Barry and Kara to save the universe but he didn’t. He saved his universe.

In "You Have Saved This City", Mar Novu resurfaced to collect on the bargain Oliver made to save Barry and Kara in "Elseworlds, Part 3" which has been revealed by Novu that Oliver dies during the Crisis.

The HBO Max Green Lantern show will feature Guy Gardner, Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz, the young gay Alan Scott and a new original character that is a black woman.

I still wish this had went somewhere different. simply because I think it would've been cooler if they had had it go Alan Scot style. Instead of a ring, the box itself is the green power. and he gets his own version of power etc.
