We didn’t go for the coffee, we went for the activity! We had some great coffee while in Italy for the week (this was only showing our 3-4 hours in Milan while travelling home) 😊
Don’t worry, we spent a week in Italy before this and didn’t hit up a single Starbucks 😊 Seriously though, we went to the Reserve Roastery specifically because we were only there for an afternoon on our way home from Lake Como, we wanted to see the coffee being roasted, and it was right beside the Duomo di Milano! We had a great time in the city.
AND they spent 26 dollars for coffee in Italy ... almost a month's coffee budget of an average Italian 😳 (maybe not Milan) There are literally a 100 other things they could have done. This is a what NOT to do travel guide in Milan.
For 26€ I expect a massage with the coffee. Even one drank sitting down at caffè Armani would be cheaper, at the counter costs just as much as any bar in the city. The 15€ each for pizza was quite steep too, unless you went to a fancy pizzeria with nice ingredients. At a take away/small pizza joints it's about 6€ for a margherita and coke. Tips for those travelling to Italy. Stay the fuck away from tourist spots and go eat where locals go.
Maybe next time spend 5euros max for breakfast by choosing a regular bar instead of Starbucks, and with the money you save go on top of the Duomo! When in Italy, splurge on culture, not on American corporations taking business away from small local shops
It wasn’t breakfast, it was about 4:00 in the afternoon! We only spent 3-4 hours exploring on our final afternoon in Italy 😊 but thank you for your comment!
I was in Duomo and if you a history buff like me, you certainly should go inside. It costed me like only 8 euros. There's stunning gothic architecture and saints are burried under the floor, so catholic. There's also a museum near it and an archeological site under Duomo, which are also included to a ticket. Another historical site is the castle Sforza, where you can learn the history of Milan and Lombardy
I couldn’t believe she said the only reason to go in was for a view out! I’ve travelled all over Italy, but never to Milan since I’m not interested in the designer shopping. Seeing that cathedral made me want to go! All the wealth of the past went into these buildings - I’m fascinated to see inside! Thanks for your comment that further elevated my curiosity!
Thank you for sharing! This was a quick pit stop on our way home from Lake Como, but we would’ve loved to explore more if we had the time 😊 hopefully in the future!
I live in Milan, but I haven't entered the Duomo in years, I didn't know there was a fee now, or do you mean to go to the roof? Churches should be free to enter afaik
@@Suzanna-chez-moi Milano's not just Fashion. It's a place full of Art and Culture, with lots of musems. Castello Sforzesco, Santa Maria Delle Grazie with Leonardo's Last Supper, Sant'Ambrogio Church, Navigli, Brera pictoresque area are just few of this place's many sights.
Not really a how to visit Milan on less than $50. I'm sure you had fun. I would have skipped the factory tour and checked out the Duomo or headed to see The Last Supper
We wish we could’ve went to The Last Supper! We only had 3-4 hours in the city (and we were pretty exhausted after spending the past several days in Lake Como), so we stuck to the three attractions that were really close together. Hopefully we’ll be back one day. 😊

So you didn’t bother going inside the Duomo for small fee, but wasted 30$ on pizza? What about The Last Supper? Or the Breca? Sforza Castle? What a waste of your time in Milan.
We were in Milan for 3-4 hours after spending a week in Lake Como - we didn’t have time to do much and were pretty tired, so we kept it very simple. We would’ve loved to see The Last Supper + other sights - hopefully we’ll be back in the future! We had a great few hours, though. 😊
Starbucks??? I travel to Italy every year. I would never visit an American chain for any food. You missed the opportunity to experience what Milan really has to offer.

the italian pizza is way different from the american one, not just for the taste and look, but: leavening, ingredients, the preparation method, ... bla bla bla make (italian) pizza a pretty light meal.
