- Former President Donald Trump pleaded not guilty on Friday to three new charges related to his handling of U.S. classified documents after he left the White House in 2021 - raising the total brought by Special Counsel Jack Smith in the case to 40.
Trump, the front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, also waived his right to be present in Florida federal court for his arraignment on the three additional charges on Aug. 10, a court filing showed.
TalkTV’s Mike Graham is joined by columnist Peter Hitchens for his half hour discussing Donald Trump’s indictment and the Government’s latest migration policy.

My local pub has recently stopped accepting card, there is a cash point next door. They say publicly it's because of internet issues but privately it's because they want to keep people using cash.
Good
Well done to that pub.
Need more of that ! 👍
I remember the days of going to the bank to draw out money for week. Cheques and cash were king and should remain so. Good on that pub.
Defo not about avoiding tax😂
The only thing that George Orwell got wrong was underestimating just how bad things would have gotten
He didn't realise his insightful warnings for humanity were going to be used as a guidebook
It should be got rather than 'gotten'. The past participle of 'get' in English, as used in UK, is 'got'; the past participle of 'get' in American English is 'gotten'. Therefore it should be 'things would have got' ‒ not 'things would have gotten'.
Inflections of 'get':
past tense ‒ got,
past participle (English) ‒ got, (chiefly American) ‒ gotten.
❤xx
Only North Korea is on par with the Oligarchic Collectives in 1984.
Try reading all of Orwell's books rather than just '1984', before coming on the internet to tell us what he got wrong or right. Beginners' tip? He was a journalist, not a prophet, and if he tried to predict the future, he didn't do a very good job.
💯
Very odd that the insurrectionists forgot to bring guns
It was a protest not an insurrection.

I am now suffering from extreme anxiety over the changes coming in. I cannot believe that we are going to have to eat insects, get rid of my car, lose access to my cash, accept the new woke ideology being taught in schools, or lose my bank account, and pay the extreme increases in food energy and L A charges whilst the government MPs sit back and pocket millions and laugh in our faces at our ineptitude. I have just been informed of another increase in my utility bills up from 87 pounds per month to 250 per month. This isn't funny, clever or affordable. And I use hardly any power so come under the so called magic F cap. I am costing out generators as I type this. Power isn't going to drop as long as we have this lot in power. I see it as just another way of killing off pensioners.
You'll still have to pay the standing charges.
we hav a generator too. and a berkefield gravity water filter. but don't assume these things will happen. there are alot of ppl who are very certain of " what's going on in the world"
thats all I'm going to say. I hope your anxiety will ease. as has mine.

Why is Hitchins commenting on Jan 6 and giving his opinion when he obviously has NO IDEA of what took place???....go away !
Absolutely Agree 👍
Seems like he has a pretty good idea. But Jan 6th isn't the issue Trump is facing now. It's his attempt to defraud Georgia voters of their votes.
Peter doesnt know anything about January 6th he should investigate it himself

Via his basement noncampaign.... yeahhhhhhhh
I think it's more like who can rig the election best. Trump said the first election was rigged too but he won it. I'm sure Trump could have won 2020 if more swing voters had chosen him, if he had taken 10 million votes from Joe he would have been home and dry most likely, it was a relatively close affair you know.

Every labour supporter should read this book.
Also, read a Brave new world by aldous Huxley, which I think is closer to what's happening to the world

100% EXACTLY So!!!!!
Yeah because it's about the very people who are in the senior positions of the current Labour shadow cabinet, the Fabians!

Furthermore, Peter, the secretary of state at the time of the Obama administration (Hilary Clinton) took an active role in using diplomatic bag and other such surreptitious black budget activity to fund and promote the active hostility and rioting and instability which removed the Ukrainian president. It is said that this has significant bearing on Putins dislike of her as well as his relative attitude towards the west in the current Ukraine crisis.
Victoria nuland played the main role with that thing of a husband kagen, both of them from the special tribe the ones that keep going on about 1945
Putin has been planning a reunification of the USSR states for decades. Ukraine threw a stick in that plan during the Euromaidan. Putin's puppet was deposed, and that made him really mad. But it was inevitable, he was openly selling his country out to Russia. Clinton, and anyone who has ever listened to Putin speak about NATO or the former soviet states would know what Putin's plans were. He openly admits his intentions.
Parading around Capitol Hill with American flags ( with not even one gun ) for a couple of hours before leaving, hardly constitutes a serious takeover of a country. But some people would want you to believe it.
NB: Dozens of the protesters were imprisoned for over a year in horrible conditions.
Many were imprisoned for longer than 2 years and people have received 4 year prison sentences for just being there. If people didn't realize that the J6 hoax was an FBI operation, I don't know what to say. That type of hoax is a common practice in the US and is performed to let people know that you do not go against the establishment. The fraudulent "insurrection" narrative was planned prior to the event and was governemnt theatre from the get go.
Yeah: I was disappointed in Americans. This is not the spirit in which they overthrew British rule! :) They'll probably do better next time.
@knickertwistcopperby6066 Indeed! and the people who damaged various city centres in the US during the preceding year causing a couple billion damage were let off Scot free.
I don’t think challenging the electoral votes was a “spur of the moment thing “ and I don’t think it was a crime either. I also don’t think that protest peacefully was code for break into the Capital building.
@@Craig-ls6rv Jan 6 was infiltrated by provocateurs, agents (Epps) and the left including BLM activists such as John Sullivan (first person arrested) who bragged online about going undercover as a fake Trump supporter to stir the pot. Someone internally unlocked the magnetic doors and the police waved the people in. Pelosi/Bowser rejected Trump's request for thousands of National Guard members and he said go "peacefully and patriotically" which the mainstream media often removes, Jan 6 testimonies de-bunked within minutes, just like the Russian collusion hoax and every other lie about Trump. And, those several hundred people who were unarmed and broke a couple windows is considered a coup.

Imagine my disappointment when i heard peters opinion about jan 6th.
His brother would have been far more based for sure. As his #1 fan and j6 supporter, i would have made certain of it through public discussion.
yeah, Graham too, a bit of a cringe...
Jan 6 was with I'm sure , a huge amount of americans, a consideration for that particular amendment ,but the president called for only a peaceful protest
to be fair he does say that overthrowing a LEGITIMATE election is wrong , not the Biden election
He talks like he doesn’t know how many agent provocateurs there were in that Jan 6 crowd though . . .
Lord Hague wasn't 'misinformed'. He was lying. Stop being polite to spare the blushes of our so called betters.
He probably was lying, but he can hardly make the accusation without proof, but the fact that Hague hasn't even bothered to reply to say, 'Sorry, I was given a bum steer' pretty much says he knew he was selling porkie pies when he said it.
Sorry but i disagree with Peter about the events of January 6th 2021
It was another false flag event 😅😅

So does Central Germany. I was taken aback that many businesses want cash only.
Peter Hitchens lost all credibility when he took the clot shot. His thinking is warped .
There is no "clot shot". You do not need to be scared.
Did you know covid causes blood clots? Did you fall for the propaganda and fearmongering? Did you comply when they told you to keep open their "window of opportunity"?
Its too hot its too cold its too wet and windy its too dry there's simply no pleasing some people in terms of the weather
Hitchens lost my respect when he complied. If he had stood by his gut and faced the cancel culture threats fair enough but he capitulated for the needle.
@MarkJones-gt2qd You think that a Hitchens is "controlled opposition"??
haha i've used hammers more intelligent than you.
“It was a country that lacked cohesion. It depended upon foreign arms, foreign money and foreign political will. Once deprived of these it faced its foe alone, and the mirage rapidly evaporated.” US Secretary of Defence Schlessinger talking to journalist James Schell about South Vietnam in 1975.
Sounds rather redolent of a country in Eastern Europe today…it’s on the tip of my tongue.
Peter’s right. The US-backed coup of 2014 is our Franz Ferdinand moment, and as Kennedy warned in 1962, you cannot back a nuclear-armed power into a corner and expect it to accept a humiliating defeat.
We’re facing thermonuclear war as one nuclear-armed power or the other is going to find itself in that unacceptable position sooner rather than later.
And this is why I’ve become a raging alcoholic. Since we have no statesmen worthy of the title in the West, and none at the UN, indeed, they’re more bothered about global boiling, we’re doomed to the mother of all nuclear winters.

Peter Hitchens, making the world more tolerable one insightful conversation at a time ❤️
Politicians refuse to say they were wrong perhaps because of the mythical image they themselves have manufactured of being "right honourable" as well as forming titles such as Sir,Lord or Baron or Baroness which carry the lie that these people are in some way superior and if proven wrong devalues their elitism. Rhetoric and platitudes help politicians appear correct all the time .
Surely it depends on wether the election was clean as a whistle? Which im pretty sure it wasn’t ?
"illegal seizure of Crimea by Putin".
Hitchens, after the coup in Kiev that you so criticize, the Crimean Parliament in Simferopol voted 78-0 to separate from Kiev! A subsequent referendum confirmed that parliamentary decision! That is DEMOCRACY, nothing "illegal" or "seizing" about it, you fool.
Peter's "if A then B" doesn't impress me. I do think the Trump-inspired fracas was disgraceful, but it certainly was not describable as an "insurrection" or anything close. Considering all the firearms Americans possess, I think we can take it for granted that if they wanted to overthrow the democratic process they would remember to take some of those guns along with them. On the other hand, the overthrow of Viktor Yanukovych was, as Mr. Hitchens says, clearly an illegal and undemocratic act.
George Orwell’s family are very wealthy and connected. A bit like Aldous Huxley’s family. This is not a coincidence. They knew the plan. They were part of it.

I have George Orwell's book 1984 written in 1948.
"Not enough air conditioning in this country." What a weak comment. If you are fit and in shape, you can handle the cold or the heat in this country.

Considering how much rain we get in Britain it always surprises me that we have not evolved waterproof skin.
People should not complain about the British climate!?! Sorry but I will never stop complaining about this climate, it’s a wretched rotten climate! No guaranteed summers, constant rain, it’s cold more than it’s warm and for the most part it’s not even comfortable. Blue skies versus Grey blanket. UK is not the place to enjoy a long Summer.

With regard to shops not taking cash, we should remember that many small and medium size towns now only have one bank and in some cases no bank at all!! Shop keepers and other retail outlets are forced to pay in their takings in the main county town(s) where there are still representative banks. This is a journey they don't want to make and wait in horrendous queues to pay in their cash. The days of the 'night safe' have gone and retail outlets are between a rock and a hard place.

I don't understand how some one like Peter Hitchens can be so WRONG about the war in the Ukraine. The only reason why Russia has invaded is because of the treaty that was made by the west, Russia claimed that it felt threatened by the Russia nukes on Ukraine soil. So the west stated quite plainly that if the Ukraine were to disarm then if Ukraine was threatened again then NATO/ the WEST would defend them. Guess what when Russia invaded the west/NATO went back on its own word, as one american general stated its better to have a proxy war than a world war and also its in Europe and that's not our concern (ie no oil).
He's not wrong, the catalyst was the United States sponsored coup. The US and the lobbyist corporations had been heavily involved in Ukraine, (Hunter Bidens oil company). The Ukrainians had democratically elected a government that didn't like the US and it's corporations and was leaning towards a closer tie with Russia. That's the reason this coup happened which caused this war.
The Hitchens all had a job to do. Best ignored, generally.
Having not read Hitchens text: The Abolition of Britain, perhaps it is your task to suggest the "job" of this particular Hitchens. Their father would have been proud of his sons, that I do know.
Maybe you don't understand the inference that provoked you ? Moreover, you may just be what is regarded as a "normie"; someone who cannot comprehend the levels of skulduggery at play in the world. The choice to know is yours. Hope you have been inspired rather than enraged. Thanks for the interaction, I wish you well, and hope you ca, eventually, appreciate why people do not respect the Hitchens. @ayyleeuz4892
South Georgia would be my choice.
The Bolsheviks had a majority in the Soviets (soldiers and workers councils); the alternative mass democratic powerbase at odds with the provisional government which was weak, ineffective and likely to be overthrown, one way or another. The fact is that Lenin's slogan of "all power to the soviets" was replaced by a single, one party monopoly of power.
Vote TRUMP
I think Peter unfortunately hasn't realized yet that most people are indeed impressionable sheep. Everyone wants to either stay out of trouble, or gain power; which doesn't matter, they will always do what's more comfortable as they can keep their thoughts private. Only once shamed into doing the right thing do you find out how much they actually believe what they say.
