+Dylan Melton Thanks Dylan. I didn't specifically mention the +1 rule though, and that is important for when you need to go back to old clues from previous turns.
The rules don't really answer following question: How many guesses is a team allowed to do? First the rules say "as long as they don't get an innocant bystander, an opposing agent or the assassin", but in a following chapter it says something like "if the chief says "Suit 3", they are only allowed 4 guesses? Why? Always one guess more than the number?
The rulebook states that you can always have 1 more guess than the number given. This is to allow a team to catch up on clues they may have missed earlier.
Nice, informative and professional vid! Did the rule about only guessing at most 1 more than the number given by the spy make it into the published version?
Excellent news! Hope you get on ok. I'd also recommend watching the Codenames: Pictures video, because the rules for both games are the same, but I mention the +1 rule more in that one.
+Montage Monster Unfortunately not, the videos are all commissioned by the publisher as they take me a very long time to create, and doing these is now my main source of income. I quit my job to work full time in the games industry. Of course, if the next game you want covered is one of the ones I am already working on, then we will both be happy :)
Nice video! I do not like Codenames much, I prefer other social deduction games. Not sure why, perhaps it is the "word" aspect of it - I never liked Scrabble for instance.
Thank you for a very concise and effective explanation. I feel like I know exactly what to do in my first game.

This is the best short & sweet "how to play" video I've seen for Codenames. Thank you so much.
Thanks for the feedback!
Good job... but when does this video self destruct?
Christopher Dickinson D'Oh. I should have used that at the end of the video....

+venrondua Thanks for the feedback :)
Thank you for the explanation. Is this fun to play with 2 players? Or would you recommend the duet version?
It is not possible to play this with 2 players.
But what about what you said at 5:00 haha
@@wideningcircles4075oh gosh. I didn't even remember there were 2-player rules in the box. I have no idea how that would work :)
Haha ok thanks!
Excellent and clear explanation. Subbed!
Welcome!

Eric Norton That did make it into the final version, but I just wanted to give an overview with this video.
Duck! It's the Assassin!
Thankyou - me and my mum can play now!

STAR appears twice on the grid.

I have some issues with the words myself. I much prefer Codenames: Pictures - out soon! (video out soon too!)
Yeah, that might alleviate some of the distaste :) we shall see...
