I don't know if you have a current meter on your layout but it might be worth adding one. It might give you a heads-up when something bad is happening. As a very rough guide, 250mA per loco would probably be OK. Nothing is going to burn out unless it is drawing too much current; it's the excess current that causes overheating.

Thanks Ian. I do have a Alpha meter and will check the voltage when I fit the new decoder and give it a run. Merry Christmas. Mick

    Hi Mick
Great to see a running session, nightmare with the failure of the decoder on the class 33, hope you can find a pcb online, I think Gaugemaster have spares for some locos but not everything as I tried to get gears for one of my class 05s and they couldn't help so I'm stuck.
The Revolution wagons look great and a long train will look awesome.
Hope you and yours have a great Christmas and New Year.
    All the best
    Paul 😊👍🖖

Thanks Paul for your comment. I think I'm right in saying Howes model do spares so I hope I can find the part. Have a good one. Take care. Mick

      Hi Mick
Try Howes but I'm sure Gaugemaster are now doing spares for Heljan. 👍

Hi Paul. Did try Howes and Gaugemaster with no luck, but had a stroke of luck. Looked on Ebay and saw a PCB foe a Heljan 47. To me it looked liked the one I had in the 33. on checking this it was the same board. It just so happens I had one in my draw from a 47 I scrapped early in the year due to it's body developing large cracks. Already fitted and it works. Happy new year for 2024. Mick

Great looking tanker wagons Mick, price wise are they the same as other manufactures. Hope you are able to get your class 33 up and running, wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2024, take care regards Barry..🎅🍺

Thank you Barry for your comment. I would expect to pay this price from Accurascale which I think is a good price. Bachmann I would think would be much more jugging by this years prices. All the best for Christmas and the new year. Mick

Hi Michael, they are nice tank wagons and price wise very competitive with other manufacturers I bought 10 last week had to send 1 back with a loose weight inside keep derailing rails are posting another one tomorrow shame about your 33 think it might have been to many sea cows there quite heavy I had the same problem with a Bachmann 37 cheers Al

Yes I agree I think it was to much for the decoder, should have double headed. Hope to be able to repair if I can get the spare board. Wishing you all the best for Christmas and the new year. Mick

Hi. Your most likely right, was also a cheapish decoder but Heljan are known to draw a lot of current. Merry Christmas and thanks for the comment. Mick
