To get to Giethoorn, I first got on the train from Amsterdam to go to Utrecht City. Then, I changed trains from Utrecht to Steinwijk. From Steenwijk to Giethoorn you can get there by bus. The bus ticket price is €4.9. Sure, you have to buy tickets. After traveling for 20 minutes by bus I reached the destination. Then, I checked in at Black Ship Hostel. It cost me €38 per night, including breakfast. The next day I went out to explore the village.
Giethoorn is a "water village" in the Dutch province of Overijssel, in the municipality of Steenwijkerland, and is situated halfway between Steenwijk and Meppel. It is frequently referred to as the Venice of the North/Netherlands in the Netherlands and is a highly well-liked village. The hamlet, which has 2620 residents, is well-known for its punts, rivers, and bridges. Giethoorn is a lengthy city with three interconnected neighborhoods connected by canals.
Giethoorn is filled with waterways and bridges, making it a popular spot for boating and cycling. You’ll also find plenty of restaurants and gift shops to explore. As most of Giethoorn, is only accessible by boat, it has become famous for being a village without roads. During the trip, you’ll see the beautiful waterways and old farmhouses that line their banks and experience the peace, tranquility, and natural beauty of this magical place.
Giethourn is a well-liked location for cycling and boating due to its abundance of rivers and bridges. You can browse or eat at a variety of restaurants and gift shops. All of these eateries offer lunch and evening service.
When you arrive, be sure to take a boat trip around the canal and take in the breathtaking scenery. You'll think you've entered the realm of fairy tales!
