@Rage00Against I didn't say every European band didn't have a large fan base in North America either, bands like Judas Priest, Sabbath and Iron Maiden just went mainstream in order to due so...back in the 70's and 80's Rock and Metal were just becoming a genre and people took hold of it and record companies and MTV went crazy for that type of music. Nowadays it's all pop and rap you see...I'm not saying Metal is dead, far from it actually...just sayin that now it really does have to hit people

@Rage00Against Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and Def Leopard are European bands and they are huge in America lol It's not about having a huge fan base...it's about going mainstream...bands like Behemoth, Dimmu Borgir, Nile etc.. either choose not to go mainstream or MTV/VH1/Radio don't play this kind of music/accept this music as a popular mainstream genre.

@Rage00Against I'm from Canada, not the US but still nonetheless North America, and I agree with your last statement to an extent. We both know what you said was very stereotypical, because I know (of) many people who dedicate their lives to metal. HOWEVER, the typical, mainstream slob does require a solid kick in the head to realize that music is more than just Lady Gaga.
