Thanks, DetectorMods, Interesting next project for me. I best clear out my workbench an give one of these builds a go!..an best check your part 2 ,Soon when it comes out. Appreciate. Cheers! Rick.
Hi Woody, Yeah my Bro, is out the Bush somewhere, still gold prospecting.as always. I catch up with him, next fortnight before xmas. Merry Xmas an All Best to You an Your family for Xmas. Cheers! Rick
Ended scoring a Coiltek pin pointer off Gumtree some time back because the commercial pinpointers were pussy in performance. Was going to do a Home Brew using a 25 mm ferrite from Aliexpress but this became redundant project. BTW Jaycar stocks 9mm x 180mm ferrite rods
Instead of a ferrite rod, what about cutting a large toroid making a horse shoe shape? Using the half of a two piece ferrite core? And any advantage possible from a "U" a core or disadvantages?

There would be no field projection much past the open part as the two poles are too close.
The device has become better than Monster Gold in sensitivity
Will you sell one of your finished models?
I have no plans to make these.
