India, even when not financially independent, did not tow the line of the West. Since Nehru's days, it has always maintained the strategic autonomy that is part of its foreign policy. It used to be called non-alignment then. India was a desperately poor nation in the 1950s and 1960s but did not join the US led coalition (while Pakistan did, joining SEATO, CENTO, etc.).
Being financially independent gives a nation more space to maneuver, but that is all.

The only solution to Pakistan is to STOP issuing Dual Citizenship Passports. Pakistani will then be Pakistani Citizens & do jobs in Pakistan or be citizens of other Countries and not do jobs in Pakistan as DONE IN INDIA.

India can import edible oil from other countries. It is a good thing to see Malasia India have come together again. Turkeye should also realise this and normalise relations with India.
