yes they are !! i got a 2012 in march of this year and she has been the bestest car to learn to drive in. i absolutely love my beetle! i had a few issues but they didn’t happen until end of july, and they were simple things like oil changes! id definitely recommend it for someone who is freshly learning to drive, or even if you just ant the car. one thing id look out for is the miles, my mom and i personally were looking under 100k miles just to be safe! also, dont forget to ask for carfax to see if the car ever had any previous issues with engine or oil or air conditioning etc!

I had a 2007 Beetle for 5 years. I loved my Bug to death but be very careful when shopping for one! Many of them have multiple owners (4+) & high mileage. I got lucky with my Beetle but I’m going to be honest, the stupidest things would break or go wrong with that car. I had to replace the bulbs & headlights/tailights themselves like 3 times. Never had to do that with any other car lmaoo. My trunk latch broke. Door handles from the inside broke off. My glove box handle broke so I had to superglue it💀Mine also use to burn oil like crazy. Also, if you buy one that has multiple issues it can get expensive quick. They are such cute cars & are easy to park & drive, however me personally I do not recommend them as a first car. My beetle was my second car so I had experience with vehicles & things that could go wrong. Just be careful & do your research! Also be sure to have a mechanic check it out before you buy!
If you find one for a good price or if you can afford spending more on a newer car I have an all black 2020 Toyota Corolla and can go 400+ miles for just $30 of gas and it’s sporty looking I love it soooooo much but if you can’t afford something more new like that then definitely get something else!
