  • The fish that swims like an eel, but is much easier to feed! One thing i forgot to mention was to make sure you have glass lids on, he is very prone to jumping out of the tank!

      Lee and Mandy Battersby he throws them around?!😂 my clownfish is bad about picking them up and spitting em out when they get close to his anemone.

      Theo Davis Being a smaller tank, I’d be afraid of them being very aggressive and territorial toward each other.

    Anyone has some experiences with keeping a Midas with a Tailspot blenny in a 3 foot tank? (60 gal) will they be gladiators or respect eachother as they differ in size and color?
    My tailspot is a rockpeeker, in the evening he tend to swim up and back to the top. (I think he's telling me its time for food by then :D )

    How the Midas blenny do with my established starry blenny? My starry is kind of the agresive side but never attacks fish only me. I have a 90 gallon. I don't want to risk an aggression what so ever. Thanks and great video.

  • @atfinthehouse8631
    @atfinthehouse8631 6 лет назад

    Many of the blennies do have poisonous bites and some can get aggressive when you put your hands in to care for the tanks. Primarily the group of what is known as fanged blennies of which the canary is one. Midas is a slightly different genus in the blennies family but I think also can bite and has venom. But good point, clarification and very good single species videos.

      ATF intheHouse I get stung by enough corals throughout the day, the last thing I need is a fish to be biting me with venom 😂

    Hi, would the Midas blenny get along with a black spot widow blenny?

    • @BrockLeonard
      @BrockLeonard  5 лет назад +1

      Arturo Hernandez Blenny’s can be territorial over where they perch at. In a big enough tank though, I think they would be fine.

  • @melissacowan5178

    Does the midas blenny require sandy substrate? I have crushed coral. If it does require sandy substrate is it like a burrowing wrasse where I can just have a section of the tank with sand and that's OK or does the whole bottom need to be covered with sand? Thanks!

    • @BrockLeonard
      @BrockLeonard  6 лет назад +1

      Melissa Cowan These blennys won’t burry in the sand, so you don’t have anything to worry about.

    • @BrockLeonard
      @BrockLeonard  4 года назад +1

      Hey Heather!!! Thank you so much for watching. Made my day. Two blennys in a small tank can sometimes fight over territory. How big is the tank? I'd recommend a 55 at least before putting multiples in a tank.

    • @heatherpalafox9807
      @heatherpalafox9807 4 года назад

      Brock Leonard Oh okay yea probably won’t work then it’s a 45 gallon with the sump but the top is only about 22 so I won’t try that. Thank you so much for responding though 😊

    • @BrockLeonard
      @BrockLeonard  6 лет назад +3

      Fenrir Cristales I have noticed when they are younger they tend to have a black/brown spoltchy color over their yellow. One way to make sure his color stays pretty yellow is to make sure he is eating plenty of algae.
