HOWEVER, sometimes, I feel like you tend to play safe especially if your topics involve youtubers, who, in your own words, have "big following". I started doubting your criticism about youtubers when you made one for Michelle Dy. You were right in saying we should hate the sin, not the sinner. But you should have at least addressed the fact that she was not being careful about how she reacted on these issues. As someone who I thought will have the bravery to call her out for that, because you've been known for calling out the "normal people" and those unnamed and notorious, you didn't. You did speak for her, you fail to speak for the people she offended. The people she *emphasis on* intended *emphasis off* to offend. Now, this video you made for Jamill also appeared to me as a safe criticism. I watched Jamill's video several times, I am subscribed to their channel to be honest. Because I feel like I should know why they are loved and why they are hated. Like I said, I've always seen you as someone who's too smart who can deliver your thoughts so well, I just thought I'd hear you somehow calling them out for creating videos not suitable for the age bracket of their viewers (which you mentioned, and even tagged kabataan as the hope of the motherland), and if you did enough research, you'd know why people tend to hate them and what they do. You know very well that I look at you as one of the best local youtubers because you always have the most sensible content. HOWEVER, sometimes, I feel like you tend to play safe especially if your topics involve youtubers, who, in your own words, have "big following".
I started doubting your criticism about youtubers when you made one for Michelle Dy. You were right in saying we should hate the sin, not the sinner. But you should have at least addressed the fact that she was not being careful about how she reacted on these issues. As someone who I thought will have the bravery to call her out for that, because you've been known for calling out the "normal people" and those unnamed and notorious, you didn't. You did speak for her, you fail to speak for the people she offended. The people she *emphasis on* intended *emphasis off* to offend.
Now, this video you made for Jamill also appeared to me as a safe criticism. I watched Jamill's video several times, I am subscribed to their channel to be honest. Because I feel like I should know why they are loved and why they are hated. Like I said, I've always seen you as someone who's too smart who can deliver your thoughts so well, I just thought I'd hear you somehow calling them out for creating videos not suitable for the age bracket of their viewers (which you mentioned, and even tagged kabataan as the hope of the motherland), and if you did enough research, you'd know why people tend to hate them and what they do. BECAUSE THEY DO NOT LISTEN. And while it is right na dapat naman talaga the mantra is "fuck what people think" cos YOLO, as an influencer, you should aim to be a good influence diba? Not a bad influence. It is not enough na lagi kang nagpapasaya and I hope that's clear cos that's what you've been doing, Jericho. I always believed that your goal is never to please anyone and anyone's followers, but to wake the minds of people into thinking "better".
I am not sure if you'll read and consider this, but even before your subscribers went up to 50K, I've been following you. I have always believed in you. I've been sharing your facebook videos and talk about you with anyone if given the chance. I just hope you don't follow the "usual" path of these youtubers na ang nagiging focus na lang is madagdagan ang subscribers. It's always best to keep your feet on the ground and always remember where and how you started. 😊
