Wow. All in one 6 min cartoon Felix gets hammered, steals a drink from a patron, falls down the instant he leaves the bar, had several wild halucinations, continues to drink publicly on a street corner, drives a car at a very high rate of speed while heavily intoxicated, runs from police, falls down his own stairs at home, viciously attacks a bird with blunt force and strangulation, gets scolded by his wife, and then to top it off pulls out a concealed handgun and shoots his clock. Awesome
I watched this last night with my mom, and it was my first time seeing classic Felix (her favorite cartoon growing up). I really enjoy the animation, it's like a newspaper comic coming to life! The dancing scene is adorable, and I love the muttered dialog. Too much fun
@Comedy Room Actually, Felix originated from the studio of Australian cartoonist-film entrepreneur Pat Sullivan. Either Sullivan himself or his lead animator, American Otto Messmer, created the character. Felix started out popular in Australia and England, but soon became popular worldwide.
@@ismaelrivera6290 understandable. I bet it would give me nightmares too. Actually just disney had enough trippy stuff to freak me out. You remember snow white? the forest scene? that shit fucked me up, bro
Hung Nguyen dude!!! Same here I used to get nightmares. I had a dream that I was in China and those dudes chased me up the kite like Felix. I remember being so scared 😂
I love the designs which look so straight they must have used a ruler to draw them. Some of the animations were reversed repeatedly, but at least it was smooth. I feel our modern standards have become too high. I wish there was more opportunity for simplistic animation like this.
Remember. Felix was made in 1919 and animation didn't get a very major improvement until like the late 30s and early 40s. Of course the animation was a bit cheap at the time.
i really like this. i think the cartoons from the 30's are so visually superior to much of what's made today because it was such a tedious labor of love, with no computer shortcuts. it's all lovingly hand-drawn.
Except this cartoon was insane due to drunken hallucinations, but everything Conker ran into during his hangover was not hallucinated. In a way, Conker had the more insane night, because messed up thing that happened to him in that game was real.
You can really see how Ninendo was inspired by Felix to create their charecters for their games. I love this. Those sound effects are ace. haha wowweeeeeyahhh
The copyright is for 1930 exactly. One year after the start of The Great Depression. Nine years before movie premiers of The Wizard of Oz and Gone With The Wind. 1930 was the first year of Mickey Mouse and Betty Boop. And it was the first year of The Shadow on the radio. Felix was of.....and beyond..... his time!
Released in 1928 as a silent cartoon, likely with intertitles throughout the film, and likely distributed by Educational Pictures. This version is the 1930 sound reissue released by Copley Pictures. For this release, the intertitles were removed and sound was post-synced to the picture. This is why the sound sometimes goes out of sync with the visuals. Personally however, I think this is a better attempt at synchronization than some of the other post-synced Felix films.
From my part, what makes Felix so lovable - as is the case in the old fashioned cartoons, take Flip the Frog and Cubby Bear - is that they're so innocent and don't scare you, like - sorry, admirers! - Sponge Bob scares me. Up to the Disney characters, Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry, I liked cartoons, but they're running kind of scarce nowadays. But, mind you, this is my PERSONAL opinion, I don't hold any grudge towards those who think differently.
@Deflun2 I hate to be that guy, but sound existed before 39. the Mickey Mouse cartoon "Steamboat Willie" was a huge sensation when it came out in 1928 mostly because it had sound. also Im pretty sure that Max Fleischer was releasing sound cartoons as early as 1924.... and thats just in the movies... there have been sound recordings being sold commercially as early as the 1880's.
All goes to show that cartoons, as with amusement parks, were originally created for an adult audience in mind, not kids. This is why this would never make the Sat a time slot in the USA!
If you're just now finding out about the era of cartoons when it wasn't assumed that it was for kids and the creators had seriously crazy animations, I suggest checking out old Fleischer Brothers cartoons. Particularly before 1934, but even some after that. Their two most famous characters were Betty Boop and Popeye (who got seriously cheesed out starting with Famous Studios, but shorts like "Popeye the Sailor Meets Ali Baba's Forty Thieves" were excellent), but they had others, too.

This is 1930 things like that did happen and this is my favorite episode
He's choking the chicken!
Felix has always been my favorite old school vintage cartoon characters, the episodes were always so creative and enjoyable!
So much imagination. I love how old cartoons completely ignore the laws of physics. So much squash and stretch.
Micah Buzan yeahhh and now its kinda "fart joke" *credits roll*
I know, right?
They would have been even better if they had off-model comedy like Ren and Stimpy.
I watched this last night with my mom, and it was my first time seeing classic Felix (her favorite cartoon growing up). I really enjoy the animation, it's like a newspaper comic coming to life! The dancing scene is adorable, and I love the muttered dialog. Too much fun
fffffreeloaders...
Felix: Aw man, I'm so drunk I'm seeing things.
Felix: You know what that means.
Felix: Time for more alcohol.
3:53 When the fully evolved kanto starter pokemon approach you.
It's worth noting that this cartoon was released in 1930, during prohibition. Just a thought.
Cool thanks for sharing😁
2:29 Popeye music?
Not according to the cartoon's Wikipedia page. It states it was animated and released in 1928.
Felix was extremely popular overseas, notably England, so Prohibition wouldn’t have mattered to them.
Felix is one heck of a party animal I tell ya
Yes He Is.
Lol, this cartoon rules. I love how Felix tips his ears like they're a hat.
Don't drink kids..... Or you'll start hallucinating a more horrifying version of toon town
I used to watch these cartoons as a kid and I’d get nightmares 😂😂

I remember watching this when I was younger and some of the scenes scared me but something about these cartoons really interested me lol.

lol 'stumbled'.. in all seriousness though, i don't think just two beers would give you this type of experience... 200 perhaps, but not two

Felix was soo adorable! And clever!
Amazing. It's like someone followed me around last Saturday night, then went back in time and made a cartoon about it.

It is more crazy than these cartoons of today, I love it!
if only 21th century cartoons were good and classic like this

And I thought Conker's Bad Fur Day was a twisted hang over story!...

I think this short predicted Conker's Bad Fur Day, then again I could be wrong. xD

I say it's more of an inspiration for the game than a prediction of that game.
Drink-O-Drive-O?😂
He's a really good role model for all those kids...😹😹😹
This wasn't meant for kids.
I like how his ears come off like a hat. Or that his tail does anything
If I remember correctly, in one of these cartoons, Felix used his tail like a small telescope.
