    Gracias!!!Sandra, por tu paciencia por enseñarnos esta gran canción, ya me la aprendí con mi Spanish Guitar y mis dedos, ahora la pasaré a eléctrica y seguiré ojeando tu vídeo, para reafirmar la, mi objetivo es un standard al mes y quiero mirar otros videos para ver el walkin' bass y los acordes de tónica tercera y séptima en el bajo para tener una visión más amplia de la canción y luego ir colocando fraseos.
    Esta es un standard que lo tengo en más de 20 autores, Parker, Monk, Evans, Mehldau, Chaloff, Fitzgerald, Baker, etc,
    Y quería aprender a tocarla, pues yo vengo del blues o sea acordes dominantes, y ahora me gustaría aprender del cancionero Americano, de nuevo gracias!!!

    Hello Sandra, really enjoying your videos:) can you tell me please if 'All The Things You are' , 'Rhythm Changes' or 'Giant Steps'? would be better for a beginner/Intermediate player or are those tunes all of similar level?

    • @GuitarversumSandraSherman
      @GuitarversumSandraSherman  6 лет назад +1

      Mark R It depends, whether you want to solo over them or just do the comping, or even chord melody.
      Generally speaking Giant Steps is one of the hardest to play tunes in jazz history (for soloing, it's also extent fast).
      Rhythm changes can be pretty challenging too, bc the chords change every half bar.
      All the things you are is the easiest of the three, but it's not as easy as Autumn leaves for example.
      All the things is intermediate level, while the other two I consider to be advanced level.

    Sandra, your lessons are lovely, thank you. Might it be better rather than verbally describing each chord if instead you could put up a chord diagram as you play it. It would certainly move the lesson along and , for those of us who learn visually, it would further imprint the chord. Just a suggestion. And thanks again, you're doing a great job. Very clear and well presented.

    • @GuitarversumSandraSherman
      @GuitarversumSandraSherman  6 лет назад +2

      Peter Ritchie Thank you Peter! A for the chord diagrams. That would be so so much work. And my hubby couldn't do it, I'd have to do it. That would take away so much time, needed to make new arrangements.

    Hi Sandra, Greeeeetings from Israel! love your lessons. They are easy to follow and are broken down logically. I also love the way they sound, melody, and chord progression. I have bought your tabs and they are great. I suggest making a jazz songbook and selling it. Why not make a lesson book with a youtube referral to every lesson? I would surely buy both books. This is something that is really needed. There are some good books but you have to figure them out yourself.

    i mostly play country-rock, rockabilly, blues, delta blues and i'm putting myself into jazz through gypsy jazz. Well, i mean i use pick and finger-picking. The point is that when i try to play jazz as you do with my fingers i find loads of high harmonics because of the nails, so i have to cut them off, not even 1 mm long to avoid that unpleasent sound, so when i try to play country i have no nail at all to make it sound great. i'll have to deal with that issue. Any tip????

    • @GuitarversumSandraSherman
      @GuitarversumSandraSherman  2 года назад

      Not sure, I prefer really short fingernails. Maybe cut em short and se athumbpick for country? But then again, i know nothing about country music.

      Body & Soul du meine absolute Lieblingsballade. Ich habe schon versucht die als Chord Melody zu arrangierten. Ich war aber nicht zufrieden. Es war für die Schüler zu schwer und wegen gewisser Noten auch generell nicht gut zu arrangieren. Ich bleib aber dran, da mir die Nummer selbst sehr am Herzen liegt.

      @@GuitarversumSandraSherman Du kannst deinen Schülern ruhig mal etwas mehr zumuten.
      Wir haben ja doch einiges von dir gelernt.

    At 15:55, shouldn't that be the 9th fret?

      Without having watched it again, you could be right. I get confused with all the numbers, while having to concentrate on so many other things sometimes 😊
