    Lee is such a good example for players who are in a rut at any age. I remember him not even playing in the early videos, just chappers. Then playing the same stuff for a lot of videos. But now after getting some lessons from Justin/Pete and practice, he's really stepped up his game. You may not realize Lee but you're a great example for us all.

    I've never heard Rob so restrained. Maybe he's taken note of comments from viewers on many of these videos wishing that he wouldn't just shred all the time. I think he sounds much better when he lays back a bit, and plays more tastefully.

    • @adriansoul7223
      @adriansoul7223 5 лет назад +3

      I think there's a difference in having fun and playing good. If you think in terms of any sport, when you're out there balling you'll do the same tricks over and over cause it's super fun and what draws you into it. But when you're on the field you focus and play smart and not just for fun.

    • @satchmodog2
      @satchmodog2 5 лет назад +4

      Rob hardly shreds all the time, but every time he does, people act like that's all he does. There's any number of videos the past 8 years where he plays some wonderful, soulful music. The Egnater Tweaker and Orange Rocker 32 videos really stand out in the forefront of my memories and there are so many more.

      I prefer Danish Pete's playing, shredding is overrated. If you play so fast your notes are percussive, you miss the point. It turns a melodic instrument into a percussive instrument. In small doses it is ok but too much ruins it, the same goes for slap bass.

    Reverse headstock makes it harder to bend high e, b and g srings while giving them better tuning stability, and reversing that for lower strings. That would be hardly noticeable though and the only real reason to have reversed headstock is looks.

    • @keesketsers5866
      @keesketsers5866 2 года назад +1

      No, it makes it easier to bend the high e, b and g. The reverse headstock reduces the string length of those strings so there is less tension on the strings (shorter string means less tension, just like on shorter scale guitars...like Gibson). Exactly the reason why multiscale guitars are built the way they are. Longer string length on the thick strings for more tension so tighter bass (important for metal, high gain), and shorter string length on the higher strings to lower tension and making fast playing easier.

    Hey Guys , great vid ! As always love your reviews ....
    Being a true lover of Strats n’ Tele’s ( cutting boards with a neck lol ), the performer series are awesome special guitars.... Love ‘em
    The main thing with “Yosemite” pickups , as such, are for lack of better words, tuned pickups or better said, voiced voiced pickups to that guitar maximizing its tone potential. Essentially the in the same way Tim Shaw did to the professional series starts.
    It really does ring beautifully clean like a true 50’s Strat.
    And the “Grease bucket “ tone circuit also allows you to roll back the volume without losing the gain structure, especially when you push the signal in front of the amp.
    Thanks again fellas !
    Captain Sir Captain & brother Chappers, Keep up the great work !
    Enjoying to the fullest !

    I think it was about a month ago I watched this video and there was one lick that Rob played that blew my mind but I couldn't work out where it was from. It sounded a little like something from Toto Rosanna but when I listened through Rosanna I couldn't find the lick. Then today I listened to the new Clockwork Wolf & Co album (which is awesome) on apple music and found the lick on Part of the Plan. One of the best guitar tracks of this year! Great Work - also the best playing I have heard from the Captain! Strongly recommend you listen to the EP if you haven't already :)

    Hey guys, could you answer something for me? Are you guys playing at an extremely low volume? The recording sounds to me like it was partially just picking up Rob's pick hitting the strings rather than the sound coming through the pickups. If that isn't the case, I do not like the pickups in Rob's guitar at all.

      William Chamberlain I’ve actually been noticing this a lot recently with the newer videos. It’s been driving me nuts. I never want to hear the sound of the pick hitting the strings on a guitar/amp review. Maybe the editor isn’t cutting their mic volumes when they’re playing anymore.
