It's uploaded! Yay! Seriously though, I'm glad you had a good time and I'm sorry you had to put up with the nightmare portion of getting back home from your trip, Caitlyn! @WizardKitten
As a Canadian I'm so sorry you had that terrible flying experience but I do hope that won't put you off coming back to Canada someday in the future. Anne of Green gables is a great series and I was lucky enough to visit PEI years ago and loved it. I actually did a minor in publishing and based 2 major projects around studies of the Anne of Green Gables franchise and its reach with international audiences. Its a really interesting fandom and world.
I missed this part of the stream yesterday so I’m so glad I got to hear story time! It’s stories like these that make me so freaked out of flying and why I never want to! But I’m glad you made it home safe and I do hope you had fun minus the nightmare airport horror story!
Holy smokes! This is what I mean when I say I hate air travel lol, it's not the flying -- it's everything else! I'm glad you made it home okay(ish) and had a nice trip to PEI. And good on you for traveling solo, that's super brave even though I'm sure it made the whole ordeal at the end harder. Also, re: accents, the parts of Canada you were in have very strong accents lol. The further west you go, the more neutral the accent becomes. Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritime provinces are like a whole other world by comparison!
Wow!! This is a wild story. Okay admittedly, (I used to be a flight attendant) whenever I hear people tell me their flight horror story, I usually roll my eyes and think “okay a delay isn’t that bad, get over it.” But girl. This is one of the worst aviation horror stories I’ve ever heard!! I’m so sorry you went through this. I can only imagine how exhausting this was! I would’ve had a mental breakdown multiple times by this point if I was you. Although I don’t blame Air Canada in this situation. When there’s a hurricane anywhere that an airline flies, it’s going to cause ripple effect and impact all flights unfortunately. So I wouldn’t avoid Air Canada going forward as long as you got helpful customer service with them! It’s when airlines don’t give good customer service in these situations that I tend to avoid them. And as for the mechanical issues, well that happens to every aircraft at every airline. It just sucks it happened to align with your already horrible travel experience :(
@@katherinelennon668 Shouldn't Air Canada at least comp the hotel too? I mean okay there's a cab voucher but 3 hours to get one with spiders lunging at your head and some lady banging into you multiple times and laughing about it !
@@ryanpepper8188 yeah so that’s a tricky area because they aren’t USA based so I don’t know what Canada’s laws are regarding comping a hotel. While yes, I agree they should definitely be required to do that, in the USA the law states that airlines don’t have to provide hotels if it’s a weather related cancellation. I actually tried looking up the law for Canada and all their sites are under maintenance (what the heck! lol)
@@katherinelennon668 Plus these airlines make so much money and you have to pay top dollar just to be semi comfortable and get a halfway decent meal. They know it's stressful why not offer a little TLC !
@@ryanpepper8188 no no no I definitely agree with you! I’m just thinking from the airline’s perspective, when they have to cancel a flight that’s outside of their control, they’re already losing a TON of money. They don’t want to cancel flights because it’s costs big bucks. So that’s why they probably aren’t required by law to also provide a hotel because this situation was not within their control. I agree that it sucks though!! I think it’s overall a bad situation for everyone. I bet the crews were all stranded too
@Resting_Lich_Face lmao, yes! Here those are big boys! Although we also have wolf spiders and those can get palm sized. Still nothing compared to yours I'm sure 🤣
OMG, that is a nightmare!! You poor thing. First, I had a bit of a laugh at the description of the streets in Canada; just imagining you have a Nancy Drew Trail of the Twister driving experience. lol As for the person that commented "I don't need to see the world" I feel that so much after my Japan trip! lol My plane ride there was 12 hours (as expected) but with 6 hours of severe turbulence at the back of the plane's wagging tail. I was sick and throwing up for almost half of the flight (and I'm quite the emetophobe, so it was misery). Once we arrive, it's so late and I'm so weak, but we have 1.5 hours of train travel to get to our hotel. I have to hop off the train several times because I almost faint (I collapsed one of the times). And finally just give up and get a hotel in the city. The next day, I am hit with a cold that lasts for the entire 2 weeks that I am in Japan. (I had been masking at work and in public for 2 WEEKS prior to the trip because I did not want to be sick; so I was devastated!!!) The way back was horrid too. Flight is shorter, but with enormous layovers (amounting to 30 hours of travel). The turbulence is still quite bad and my poor husband got food poisoning halfway through the flight. We're so exhausted that we fall asleep on the floor during our 4 hour layover in California. The jump from Cali to AZ is pretty quick, but my husband got airsick at his seat. :((( Finally, we're waiting for my friend to pick us up at the airport, and she gets rear-ended by a drunk driver!! (Thank goodness she wasn't hurt!!!!) I felt so bad for her because she had been watching our dogs and is just the best human being. I was furious that the bad luck affected her too!! All said and done, Japan was the coolest trip I'd ever been on. BUT, had I known all of the things that would happen, I would not have gone! So I'm glad I went at the time, because now I am TERRIFIED of long distance travel.
@@sorachicken That was me who said that and stand by it especially after hearing this 😢 So sorry about that awful experience. Yes traveling can be overrated in these instances. I have major anxiety and it's controlled now, but hate flying so that helps me not want to go anywhere far 😂
