    Awesome idea. Anyone who'd throw away unused bacon...man that's a sin. Lol. I like the way you fried it up and added it to a BBQ sauce. But try this. While you are frying it. Carmalize the brown sugar and then mix it with some good 'ol KC Master Piece original flavor. You can also mix in natural honey and BBQ sauce and heat till it's just warm to bind them, and then you can use it as a dip or coat them with it prior to cooking. Either way it's all good food.

    what bbq sauce did you use?

    • @BurningcerealShow
      @BurningcerealShow  9 лет назад

      I think we used "Hunts" BBQ sauce. You can use almost any BBQ sauce you like. It's up to you.

    The one thing that I don't like is the waste. Bacon grease mixes with the brown sugar at the bottom of the pan... oddly I get a lot more than I see in any video including this one as there is about 1lb of bacon being cooked (that's a lot of bacon grease), but it's that which makes a sweet sauce for the wrapped weenies. However, it's a grease/sugar sauce... and much of the sugar stays in the grease and not on the weenie.
    Like many comments, it's easy to put them on skewers and flip them over at some time to evenly cook them. You can also roll the wrapped weenies in the sugar then while they're cooking you can make a syrup by cooking the remaining brown sugar then drizzle this on slightly cooled wrapped weenies. This will also allow you to reduce the amount of sugar as it doesn't take much to coat the cooked wrapped weenies. A friend of mine will drizzle pancake syrup on hers. That's a good choice too. Just tossing hints out there.

      BurningCereal What would be the best way to transport them to keep them warm?

    • @BurningcerealShow
      @BurningcerealShow  9 лет назад

      Marshal Jim Duncan Depends on how far you are going. I would use something like a tin foil disposable pan. Kinda like you would use to cook a turkey on thanksgiving. keep in in your oven at 200*F for about 30 minutes before you leave. Or do same thing and pop them in the oven once you get to your location.

    Could it be easier to roll up the bacon and weenies then roll in the brown sugar?

    • @MN-ez3kx
      @MN-ez3kx 8 лет назад +1

      +Ronny Franklin , You can do either or. However, when the brown sugar melts, it will soak into the bacon more than the smokie. Kinda line an in oven marinade. The smokie has a skin on it and doesn't take in the flavor as much. Hitting both sides of the bacon will infuse the bacon with a nice rich flavor. Check out my above post about the BBQ sauce.
