Oh man, never seen the club toss from you before. It looked like you were a little late on your release point and pull tossed it left. Keep practicing and you’ll eventually get it down. 😂😂😂
@@ssbudda33 You posted several comments about the club throw being a "bad look", but I like that he left the club throw in the video. He could have easily edited that out of the video, but he left it in to show us that he loses his cool now and then, but then you have to put it behind you and play through it. I know from my experience with golf that it is essential to develop the ability to play through frustration and disappointment.
Adam- I used some of your course management tips you often provide on your videos and shot the best round of my life at this particular course in my city that in all honesty, I’ve never been able to break 90 on. I eliminated all the hero shots I’m so prone to taking after a bad drive (and I had plenty yesterday 😮) tried my hardest to avoid carding big numbers & carded an 81. So far that is my low round for 2023. Thanks again.
I spent my round on Saturday clubbing up, playing the safe shots and avoiding driver and ended up shooting a pb 83 as a 20 handicap. Practiced what you preach and it really paid off. Thanks for all the help Adam!
This is why I’m so loyal to you and the channel. Love the transparency, reminds me so much of my own game. Doesn’t always look pretty but the final scores do.
I watch all of your videos and I would contend that next to your putter your driver is your best club. Although I take no pleasure in it, it is encouraging to see a better golfer than I ( 10.5 handicap) for no apparent reason lose the ability to use a driver effectively. It's not just me. For about 5 weeks this summer I only used my 5-wood off the tee. Then one day I gave the driver a try on the range and I could suddenly hit it longish and straightish (which is good enough). BTW - a golfer that doesn't occasionally lose it over a bad shot is a golfer that doesn't care.
Played here at the end of may, only reason we played it was because we had a tee time at talking rock and it burnt down two days before! After some scrambling we were told to come here and wow was it fun, cool little course good price and lots of fun. Conditions look wicked here! Good video very relatable.
Another great vid Adam. I used to suffer the same low pull or high cut issue. I'd recommend tweaking your swing path to be slightly higher and less flat, it helped me eliminate alot of those chunks and thins out of play and provide some extra distance. Cheers
Loved the intro. I get sick of watching some channels that are almost always great shots. Not realistic for me That is what attracted me to your channel. Thanks!
You definitely nailed why I can't get under a 20 handicap. 1 bad shot always turns into 3 and when mu scoring gets behind I never pick conservative targets which usually results in penalty strokes.
We're around the same handicap but go about it in completely different ways. I'm a good ball striker with a decent short game and can't make a putt to save my life. You hit more bad shots than I do, but make every putt you look at. Golf is an interesting puzzle to try and solve! Love your vids :)
Great video as always. One thing that my coach and I are working on is to minimize the negative verbal reactions immediately after shots. It really helps me to stay mentally in holes when I don’t become physically upset with bad shots.
Thanks for the reality check Adam. I got back into golf (after 15 years) less than a year ago, and between your channel, the guys I play with (who are single handicappers) and some lessons, I've gone from not breaking 100 for the first 3 months down to a 15.4 index, with a PB of 83.
I’d love to play with you, you’re me, same hdcp. same struggles, different swing ( mines not exactly pretty ) etc. same attitudes. Anyhow your vids inspire me to be more purposeful, respect.
My best score still Is a 95 on a relatively shorter municipal course here in Fresno, CA. Love the content Adam and the mindset I’m looking to tidy up my tee shots and chipping .
Best takeaway from this video: "It's hard to recover from a great drive". I had a couple of rounds this week that were just like this -- 10/14 drives, 4/18 GIR, 30% scrambling, 30 putts. Had two doubles on yesterday's card, which killed my round. I violated one of Matty's rules, "Never follow a bad shot with a stupid shot". I got to visiting too heavily with an airline pilot that was in our group, and it led to some horrible choices. Staying focused on your game plan is really critical to keeping the doubles off the card, and I'm finding that if I get too wrapped up in the social aspect of golf, it'll wreck my score. thanks for the video Adam!
This is perfect 👍🏻 My goal is (and has been for years) to be a single-digit handicap … JUST ONCE in my life! I got down to 11.3 last year, but it jumped to 12.4 this year. Here in northern Illinois/southern Wisconsin, we have a short season. Spring & Fall are NOT conducive to scoring, and it seems the courses we play are much more difficult than this course you’re playing. … Heavily wooded, VERY thick (penal) rough and more hazards 💦 Now we’re headed inside (into the X-Golf simulator) all winter. Time to work on my game and re-commit to that goal in the Spring. 🤞🏻 Good stuff 👍🏻 … keep up the good work
Fun fact I just learned: If you have been given a put, you got it no matter what you do. If you put it and missed, it still counts as given. 😊 This is only in match play ofc. Nice video! 🎉
Great vid as always adam. I will say that when the wheels fall off its always because of double bogey. Your short game is quite a bit above average, which keeps your scores reasonable. Also, love to see the frustration in these videos, because we've all felt it, despite some people who think they're above it because they're "not a pro".
Thanks for the videos - enjoy all the content (except the club toss - but its a frustrating game - so i get it) I noticed your driver is way past parallel. is that typical? And your irons are less than parallel which seem to give a better result. Why the extra effort on the driver. Would it be something to try on the range?
Love the upload frequency lately! Any idea when the Bandon videos will go live? Tough to tell when the rounds are from but I’m guessing it’s not +40 even in Kamloops this late in the season haha.
Hey bud! Ack, I wanted to build some momentum with some releases before getting to Bandon. I'm not exactly sure when I'll get them out. This round was in late-August.
Adam, not judging your swing, but are you planning on getting less flat with your swing as your friend's app suggested? I think your ball striking and ball flight pattern would benefit.
Good question. I'm not too sure what the answer is. I'm really bad at changing things, even the glaring things I notice on camera. I am a bit of a putting nerd, though, and seeing myself constantly align putts off the toe of my putter has had me considering making some changes there.
I hear ya. I'm currently a 7, been as low as a 4. Played for the first time in four months on Sunday. 83, parred 7 of 9 on the back. Half the holes someone would think I was scratch, half they would think I was a 15. People think single digits are way better than they actually are. >
Right?! Every time I upload a 70-something, there are a dozen comments saying, "you'll have to change the name of the channel soon!" And every time I upload a round where I shoot 85+, there are a dozen comments saying, "no effing way you're a single digit."
Adam, I grounded my driver and started flushing my 4 hybrid. Then one day I couldn’t hit the 4 hybrid dead straight 220 so I ungrounded the driver and low and behold started smashing the driver 270 middle of the fairway. Sadly the 4 hybrid is trash and I can’t seem to have both going at the same time.
Brutal. For me, typically my wood/hybrid goes the same way as my driver. So if I'm having an off day with driver, my only real option is to go down to a 5-iron, which is a bad option in the Winter here when we get practically no rollout.
Great vid as usual mate. Did you work out whats causing the driver woe's? It's weird that sometimes my driver is the best club in the bag and i shoot a great round of 75, but the next day it's my worst and i shoot 86. By the way our group has just enforced a rule that anyone club throwing or hitting clubs into the ground (I'm bad for both, usually once or twice a game) has to buy a round of beers afterwards haha
I think my crappy swing leads to me having to time everything just right to have a good day with it. Love that rule. I should implement it. I think I'd be buying the fewest drinks each season :p
After i tossed my 7fw, just 5 m in the air. it landed on the handle and the shaft broke :-( After that i dont toss clubs... Today my friend tossed his P in the bag and it got a little crooked... So dont toss/throw ur clubs ;-P
This really is classic NASG golf. 4 straight pars after a double - a lot of 10-15 hcps would be at least +3 over those 4 holes, still angry about why they made double.
