I sent a letter to the Detroit Lions 30 years ago when I was 10. I sent a card and asked for Chris Spielman’s autograph. A month later got it back signed with a letter. Lost the letter but have the auto. A highlight of that year for me!
Use to do this with my grandpa when I was a little kid in the early 90’s. You could ask for a specific player and 9/10 times you get an autograph back. Some teams even sent tickets to the next game closest to us!!

Having worked in the NFL for two decades as a scout, the last thing anyone wants to be asked for is an autograph. I'm surprised you got any back. I never asked for autographs for my kids even. It's just frowned upon. And you didn't get anything back from any team I worked for.

Im a steelers fan and despise the ravens but them sending the autograph and letter of authenticity was class.
