Since Kirk's loose lips will likely to cost the Falcons draft picks, you can't blame them for not telling him anything ahead of time.

Falcons making sure that they have a good quarterback. That's a tough decision.

Great pick!! Who puts all their trust in a old Kurt Cousin's coming off injury? They needed a good back up plan.

They did not think Penix was going to be there at #8, so they grabbed him. To me, it was a good pick. Penix had the most experience as a QB. They wasn't gonna go anywhere this year anyways. Cousins is only a "game manager." It was probably the owner who told them to go get Cousins in the first place . Everybody knew giving Cousin all that $$$ was dumb.

Sometimes you draft a guy to keep him off other team's rosters

Atlanta is only going to pay 55 million over the next two years for both QBs. Dak and Trevor Lawrence will make that for their salaries alone. Cousins will only be paid 37 million next year so he will be easy to trade if they have to. This was a really smart move. They will win the division have a home playoff game that they probably win. How much is winning worth? 55 million is worth it...

Bruh yall late as hell. They already clarified that Fontenot and Blank were talking about trading up in that clip prior to #8. 2. You crazy as hell if you think as a organization, I’m signing a 36 year old QB fresh of an Achilles injury and not have insurance at QB(the most important position in football) and rely on Taylor Heinicke as my backup if Cousins gets hurt

The falcons have had luck at QB after Matt Ryan where? They needed to insulate themselves from another catastrophic Cousin's injury and prepare for life after cousins. Obviously they're not delusional to think they were a QB away, and when assessing the team they know there are pieces in place now have to grow or be replaced. why not have value at QB at the same time those other pieces are on the way up? Cousin's price tag is the average going rate, it's not a crazy notion to pay him, while taking advantage of a great draft position. If Cousin's allows them to be competitive while developing a QB the long term affect could be monumental

When you chase the cash there is no loyalty on either side. The Falcons should have followed the Vikings strategy by bringing in a stop gap quarterback and used free agency to make the team stronger.

Its the best pick ever in organization history cause they are completely dodging the deion sanders and sheduer nightmare next year and wont be able to even be mentioned now and cousins and this kid can compete. Penix dont got to play a down and it was still a great pick. Unpopular opinion but will age well.
