  • How to self correct a high hip (uneven hips) | Dr. Jon Saunders | Newmarket Chiropractor
In this video, Dr. Jon Saunders will show you how to stretch, exercise, and self correct a high hip or uneven pelvis without needing any special equipment at home! An uneven pelvis is common and could be a source of pain from the ankle to the neck and everything in between.
This video will show you first how to determine which hip is high. Then Dr. Jon Saunders will walk you through hip leveling routine in less than 2 minutes to get your hips aligned. The last part will show you a self pelvis reset where you might even get a POP or CRACK to release your SI joint or pubis symphysis for immediate pain relief.
At the very least the video will show you how you can hold your adjustments longer between your in-office treatments.

Thanks for being honest. I've watched a lot of these videos and have been doing these exercises for six weeks with no results. I broke my leg as a kid during a growth spurt and so now am going to my doctor for professional help. You're the only video that mention that these exercise might not be able to fix your pelvis if you have scoliosis or structurally short leg. Thanks so much. Liked and subscribed.

I am a victim to this issue. I fell on my skates and hit the right side of my hip and the problem started from there. I have been on many sites trying to determine which side is high and your instructions were very easy to follow in evaluating which side is high... Thank You.. Thank You!! for this quick step.. I can know move forward on which side to work on.* I also rotate forward on my right hip .. I determine this by placing both feet together and looking straight down at both hips and feet and notice my right hip blocked my vision to see my right foot. I will continue to follow this segment of exercises with no mistakes everyday two time a day and I will report back to you to let you know if this is working for me within a month or two. Mean time I would love to find someone who I can work with. I live in the Calhoun GA state.. I hope this reaches you. I just want to let you know YOU ARE APPRECIATED 🥰

Can this cause ankle pain? I have this exact issue and have ankle pain, tight hip and tight side of back all on the left side. I've noticed my right hip is higher than my left. This may be the answer for me. I will give this a go and keep on discovering how to fix my ailments. Thank you so much I could cry Right now. The thought of getting just some reassurance and relief from the mental and physical toll this causes me would be amazing!! I have quite mild sceliosos and have had a list of small ailments aches and pains for about four years. I've seen multiple physios, osteopaths, chiropractors and personal trainers, and none have explained the biomechanics as simply as you have. The most recent symptom has been ankle pain and tightness. Your video has made me realise its definitely a hip, knee, ankle issue.

Side planks show right side is weaker by far. Stretch on left side sometimes gives a pop. I'm using this, combined with some other RUclips information. Just did your sequence here. Thanks!

It was difficult for me to stretch my QL like you showed so I tried something different. I used the same exact principles you showed but did it laying down on a 65cm yoga ball. I felt an intense stretch and was able to breathe and let go. I have a high right side so left side on the yoga ball with the right hip to the ceiling. Just be careful if you think you may roll off. You could use a wall and allow the leg you’re trying to put behind you into a hall way so that your back is against the wall but your leg is free to move behind you.

      Hallo doc
Thankyou for your video, s, I have been implementing them on a regular basis.
My question is I have a 2,5 center meter leg difference (or rather tilted hip, rotated) my right side is shorter.
Before I had a one center meter in step but I, am reluctant to go to 2,5 cm.
I, ve been seeing this lady who showed me how to push in the hip(the longer side) and said that I Don, t need a instep at all, she also said that my hips were corrected afterwards.
Today many weeks later, and after applying your exercises and hers I still have the difference.
I, am a Gardner, 52 years old and have had a 1 cm instep for many years
What do you recommend, I have an added problem that I suffer from depression and I am having added neck problems and right leg feels stiff and my heels hurt sometimes.
Is there any hope for me or should I go back to the one center meter instep.
I saw a. Orthopedic surgeon but he suggested the 2,5 cm instep but he did, nt check my hips or take any x, ray, s. I, am worried too that if I do a 2,5 cm step it will make things a lot worse
PS I think that I written in the wrong column, sorry about that and sorry that, s it, s such a long question..

@@one497 If there is a "functional" short leg, it can be corrective with adjustments and exercises...however if the leg is "structurally" short one may need a lift, depending on how severe AND what compensation has happened in the spine as a result (e.g. scoliosis)...sometimes it is not worth correcting the short leg with a lift if it ends up causing worse problems up higher in the spine...which why best not to guess. Below is a cut and paste comment i made on pain from standing up with locked forward lean posture from sitting in a chair. Thiught uou may like to see what me a 59 year old is exoeriencing....
Excellent. Finally someone talking about exactly what I'm experiencing.
Would be great if can explain why as stand up straight more from years of being slightly hunched over without knowing it and rebalance my body there's a numbness in my sacroiliac area and a numbness in my glute and the side of my leg as I finally stand straight on that side and can all this be reversed?
.... and how or is it a "Quada Equina" thing involving nerves bundle issues that may need surgery ?
....Or even quada equina nerve bundle issues severity can be naturally reversed through heat and ice standing erect and stretching?
Also would be great if you could explain what's going on internally (where what joints(sacroiliac?) and muscles) when a lumbar numbness and an inability or reduced ability to push out colon for bowel movement (pre incontinence) due to hunched locked forward lean posture occurs and can this or should this inability to push BM (pre incontinence) be remedied in time by finally standing up erect (even on the toilet) with no pain and ability to reach back and be standing straight with zero pain?

I’m excited to target the right side if it will indeed resolve the symptoms on my left side. All other physical therapy channels don’t specify a side, and in my mind that means what I’m achieving on one side, I’m then undoing by repeating on the other side. Im going to chiropractor but I haven’t seen any improvement. Your question about: why is this happening or is it something in my SI joint, I already asked several doctors, PT, chriropractor, but nobody knows how to answer these questions. It seems like a mysterious illness, wich no one knows how to solve. Im already getting used to the idea of living with this nightmare for the rest of my life. Tight hamstrings and tight quadriceps muscles have aggravated my SI joint. My pain is significantly decreased with sitting on a firm chair with a softball 🥎 or lacrosse ball in various place on my upper leg (hamstrings). I simple let my leg rest on the ball for 20-30 seconds at the top, middle & lower thigh positions. Kneeling quad stretch for the front of my thigh. Neither of these should be painful so ease up on the ball or stretch if it is.

That’s weird though because I usually have most my pain on my right side. Lower right back and all around around to my front right all pain.

Hi. I have a very funny walk (gait abnormality) and it has always drawn a great deal of attention from strangers and family members. I've been laughed at because of this walk, taunted and even, as a teen, have gotten into fights from insecure girls with boyfriends. I literally live in a box because I don't want anyone to see how I walk. Now I'm 65 and still live in a box - a horrible life. Went to the chiropractor, he said I did not have a funny walk because he compared me to people that have real walking problems like a paraplegic or someone who has lost a leg due to cancer. Never judge or compare someone else's journey. Do you think there's a chance your exercises could improve my walk.
