I've had a relationship with Barclays for almost 12 1/2 years with 6 different cards & 4 accounts even though I currently have 3 accounts. I have had the AAdvantage Aviator Red MasterCard which started as an US Airways Dividend Miles MasterCard, Barclays Visa with Apple Rewards which was converted to a Barclays View MasterCard, Barnes & Noble MasterCard & NFL Extra Points Visa which is now with Comenity Bank. They will let you apply for 2 cards on the same day using the same inquiry. I've done it multiple times. My next step with them is to apply for the Frontier MasterCard & product change my Barclays View MasterCard to it because I've been busy researching on airlines that fly nonstop to Denver to Charlotte close to where my dad lives which I found 3 that do & getting TSA Precheck.
Someone asked me to do a make Barclays great again vid so I'm looking into that. I stand by the junk drawer of cards but there are some hidden gems to be had
That Wyndham business card looks mighty fine even though you seemed to miss the multiplier on gas and automatic top tier status. Also complimentary status matching to Caesars Rewards! Those 15k bonus points every anniversary year more than make up the annual fee. The additional perks are just the icing on the cake. I'll have that card in my wallet someday
My bad on that. Not a bad option tho. Be sure to report back and let us know when you pull the trigger. I like to hear others experiences with cards and the value they get
I had Barclays before they went cobrand only, with a no fee 5% cash back on groceries. They were a substantial player for groceries but these days they are just too narrowly focused to be of any use. These days, 2% on everything is the base rate. Good video.
Agreed, a card or two here could prove useful but they are all such specific use cases. No single card jumps out as the one to have. Thank you sir, always good to see you here!
Haha that's fair. Barclays has some gems for the right situation. Think I called it the junk draw of cards. Fun to look at the lesser known issuers sometimes. Thanks for watching
Very nice run down! The only thing I know you missed was mentioning Choice Privileges card also gives you Gold status which has some perks some people may explore if that was mentioned. :) I don't have the card, but I had considered it but then pandemic happened and I was like nope! lol Take care, sir. Have a great MI night! :)
Good catch, thank! Perfect example, a card that becomes potentially useful for that specific use case. Perfect scenario to consider Barclays card. Lol, it got up to 50 degrees today.. and it's only 23 degrees this morning... win
I just don’t find Barclays cards sexy enough or feel the urgency to get their cards or put in my arsenal of credit cards . I rarely here them mentioned among credit card content creators sharing any love. Thanks for enlightening us with Barclays’ credit cards
I agree, my take away was some of these cards could work for a specific use case. Aside from that, not much to write home about. I think Barclays strategy is to go after easy customer acquisition with the co-branding. Thanks my man!
Should I be concerned with accounts closing since I have 5 cards from synchrony that will be moving to Barclays soon. gap, american eagle, athleta, banana republic and old navy, 4 of them are logo cards visa or mc. gap is the store card. I say close because I have excessive inquiries, low balance 1 percent, 760 range for all 3 bureaus.
I don't think they'll close them. If they're buying the portfolio of cards from Synchrony then they may rebrand the cards and change them over to a Barclays version or offer other products but I don't think they'd buy the line to kill them off.
Hey, thank you sir. I'm going to have to bring back that intro for season 3 over the one I have now. Apple/Barclays broke up some time ago. Likely due to the Apple/Goldman Sacs partnership on the Apple Card
John is my guy! He actually came on my channel awhile back and got me into bank bonus hunting. Appreciate you stopping by, means a lot! Let me know if there's anything you'd like to see covered on the channel
Yes yes yes! Very informative content! I got the AARP by Barclay invitation in the mail and I was curious about which credit reporting agency they were pulling from. You offered a wealth of information and I so appreciate you💝 My credit score is hovering around 800, and there is a $100 cashback offer if I spend $500 in the first three months, which is quite easy. I am a little curious about the credit limit they would offer on that AARP card.
No I decided against the AARP by Barclay. But I did pick up the American Airlines advantage by Barclay. The interest is quite high for me but I don’t plan to hold a balance. but the 50,000 bonus miles which would be worth approximately $600 in travel is better than the $100 AARP bonus.
thank you so much for your content! I have no Barclay cards however I would like the American Airlines aviator card Are usually fly American and United airlines, the JetBlue card sounds better however I really fly JetBlue. Did I hear you say that Barclay poles from Trans Union? That would be most beneficial for me.🥰
Some of their better cards. Chase has the United partnership with about 4 flavors of card on in their catalogue. We believe Barclays pulls Transunion but that is from crowd sourced data.
Normally you can't change one airline card into another. This is called a product change. So you can normally product change from the regular jet blue to the annual fee version because it's in the same family. I don't think they'd let you go from jet blue to AA for example because that is a different product family.
I'm not sure honestly. Card issuers tend to operate differently market to market with the types of cards, rewards, etc. With that said it may be best to phone Barclays and double check any rules that may be concerning. sorry!
Does Berkeley have online banking and can we do this in the US United States citizen can I have a Visa or Mastercard from Barclays I would love to know
Yes they have online banking. As for Visa or MC, I think they're mostly MC. They don't let you choose tho. You can't say I want my Jet Blue card to be Visa over MC.
Barclays is a terrible credit card company. I applied and received a credit card connected with Lufthansa Miles and More program. The only reason was to accumulate miles. I travel outside the US a lot and every time Barclays flags my card for fraud and freezes all charges. Good thing I have old reliable Chase card. There’s no comparison between Barclays and Chase. Chase is way better. Hands down. Plus when you contact Barclays all you talk to are call centers outside of the US. They can hardly speak English. Don’t take a Barclays card. There are too many other good ones out there.
Barclays US division seems to be an afterthought. They are big in Europe I think and at one point they did have a bigger US presence. Now their portfolio is more to grab easy customers.
i like how the americans say barcLAYS..over here in uk we are bit lazy and pronounce it barclees...never had credit card in my life so never heard of 5/24 etc
One of the worst worst worst merchant service provider is @barclays UK , they blocked my account for just one chargeback, that also when it was customer's mistake, barclays didn't give my business any support...to make things worst they held my funds for 6 months and also black listed my business on MATCH, this way it gets very difficult to apply for any other merchant....barclays literally killed my business for just one chargeback .....do not do business with barclays they are the worst in the industry...they will not only block your account, they will also hold your funds for 6 months and also black list you on match.....they don't even deserve one star ....Useless barclays

You may be the biggest Barclays fan we have here... that's a nice change of pace from the Amex/Chase love. Safe travels out there

Lol JetBlue getting their passengers lit with those cocktail discounts!
Lol, guess they have a target demo
That black and red card is the most beautiful credit card I’ve ever seen.
It is a clean design, most card issuers do the card design as an after thought but I too think these things matter

Bruh, I rolled back your intro just to listen to that beat again! Did Barclays end their co-brand with Apple? Good video.

Question would you consider doing a video on the united airlines infant card?
I got you. I'll likely look at all 3 of the United cards in one go. I can spin something up for middle of next week... stay tuned
Will you make a video on the Barclay’s Aviator Silver? My understanding is that it’s like the JPMC Ritz Card.
Great video RJ!!! does the 6/24 include biz card or just personal card? Thanks RJ!!!
Business cards should be fine as they don't report to personal credit.
@@RJFinancial thanks RJ!!! I will go ahead and apply for the Barclay AA!!!
What is that credit union that offered five percent on bookstores in addition to Barnes and Noble?

Do they know how to change a mandate in less than two months?

Does the 6/24 rule only count personal cards (like Chase's 5/24)?
I think so, but its hard to be sure. From my research Barclays is loose at times with this rule
www.uponarriving.com/barclays-application-rules-guide/
It possibly is just one factor in the formula and not a hard rule.
Very original intro it's impressive
