This is perfect to attract more adult guests. Shame the other parks haven’t done this
No this needs to be destroyed at all costs
The last time Disney World tired something like this it didn't end well.
@Katie Lewis nah Disney doesnt have a chance with Halloween Horror Nights
because other Disneyland don't have competitor. One place have only one park. But HK is small and Oceanpark have HHN too. So they need to attract more guests.
The problem is the parents who will make their kids go through it then blame Disney for their child being scarred. But as the replies show a Haunted Mansion or Tower Of Terror one would fit more as it goes in that particular category.
Hongkonger here. You see the HK audience loves spooky things. The widespread claim that Haunted Mansion being a ghost attraction was inappropriate to the local culture was pure bs. It's just axed due to budget reasons.
But hey at least you got a better attraction in my opinion which is Mystic Manor.
gissneric That's very true. Mystic Manor is the first trackless ride in HKDL. It's an awesome ride that uses an innovative ride system.
@Myka Ruest what? No way. A lot of countries in the world celebrate Halloween and that includes Asia.
HongKonger +1 thanks
@Myka Ruest you should see Germany, they go hard on Halloween.
Imagine a scare maze theme to the haunted mansion
Id love to just walk through the normal attraction
omfg that would be amazing
I have a mighty need for that
Their first Halloween maze Main Street Haunted Hotel in 2007 did feature elements (e.g. bathtub corpse) that were not realized in the actual Haunted Mansion attraction (which was meant to be a walkthrough during concept stage)

The haunted mansion originally was going to be a walk through
You know Hong Kong Disneyland was not the only Disney park to do Halloween in a darker tone. Disneyland Paris second gate park, Walt Disney Studios Park had a Halloween event called TERRORific nights. It’s was basically a haunt event in a Disney park. Not too scary but scary enough to question “why is this in a Disney park?”
And that was super fun! Zombies, maniacs chasing you with a chainsaw, headless horseman etc. I loved it!
I wonder what is the music in the Alice through the looking glass and beauty and the beast scenes
To answer your question, the reason why Terrorific Nights was in Disneyland Paris was because Disneyland Paris wasn’t officially owned by Disney at the time: the whole event was basically done by the park itself rather than Disney. Not surprisingly, the event stopped happening when Disney took full ownership of Disneyland Paris.
i love that Hong Kong Disneyland does halloween so differently than the other parks, that's why i love going there at this time of year, just to wait in line for up to three hours for a 10-ish minute walkthrough
ps: been a annual pass holder for years, kinda disappointed that HKDL didn't do ANY halloween decor this year at all, but on the plus side, the christmas tree is already up, something to look forward to
New castle is coming!!!
Ocean Park Halloween > Disney Land Halloween
@snedonator4781 I would be too scared so I'll stick to my disney
Thanks for covering this! The reason why Disney is going so dark because they have to compete with another local park, Ocean Park, who is famous for their scary Halloween mazes and events
-Sincerely, A Hong Konger
They really should do mazes at California Adventure, I feel like people in the USA would be down to see Disney dip their toes in a more scary Halloween experience there. Maybe not as intense as what universal or knotts do, but something scary for the season would be awesome!
This. I feel like all the big theme park LOVE to fuck around with people by scaring them with live actors a interacting with the guests. For me, I hate that. But instead I think having it so that actors can’t interact but instead maybe put on shows in a scary place.
This makes me realize how scary Disney movies actually have the potential to be :flushed:
If this kind of thing makes MONEY, Mickey will reconsider. Tell me I'm wrong. It's all about the bottom line. If it works (read: makes money), Mickey will take a long hard look. They've cancelled other investments simply because the profit margin wasn't good enough. I'm a huge Disney fan, but it's the simple math formula Mickey follows.
Just asking, but what does Mickey Mouse have to do with the removal of a scare maze attraction? Is it because it doesn't line up with everything Fantasmic, Mickey's House of Villains, and Epic Mickey is all about? I really do hope that you don't mean the mouse and that you mean the head of parks and imagineering.
Michael mouse is a true businessrat
@@bukakali2970 Don't blame the character, blame all the other sleazy business men who think their way of making money is the right way.
@@victoriabell9546 i think you are taking these statements too literally
Between the insane evil clown and the Mad Hatter trying to decapitate guests, I'd have thought this was almost Batman.
Really interesting maze idea, jokes aside. Sucks to hear its gone.
Is the man dead or no bc I don’t want to go there if you get decapitated
the Pinocchio segment makes me sad :(
Don’t worry, that fairy will save him :)
Yeah, I always thought the movie was rather sad but this is straight up depressing.
It’s like what would basically happen to Pinocchio if not for Jiminy Cricket
The other Disney parks should do this similar to knotts like how they have a Halloween event for kids and then they have scary farm...
Universal: lol we the spoopiest.
Disney: *psychotic Mickey giggles*
That Pinocchio thing was really freaky 🙈
As a child I hated Halloween in HKDL but now I regret not witnessing this piece of amazing Disney history TAT
2:16 - "Lamp oil, rope, BOMBS! You want it? It's yours my friend, as long as you have enough rupees.
This is so scary and terrifying I actually never been to Disneyland Hong Kong before
The fact Hades is the one to save the guest shows how evil professor wu is.
I wonder why they didn't bring in any hinges from Return to oz into the Halloween theme, theres dr worlds doing shock therapy, the wheelers, princess Zombi with her screaming heads, and the Nome King and his Nomes?
These mazes are so awesome. I really love them
If disney ever made it truly scary and gory, it would be scarier than Universal
Very, very true...based upon just the set deco that they had in White's Scary Adventures with the realistic skeletons in the dungeons.
Hades Bing the good guy that's cool
Love this channel!
You should talk about terrorific nights at disneyland paris. They were even more un-family friendly than this
This looks EPIC.
Wish disney would just make an adult/teen focused park where they have the excuse to do this kind of thing. Disney could give HHN a run for its money.
That alien invasion one looked interesting.
That one was quite interesting. I used to go to that one as a kid, usually around a month before October they would close down the starliner diner restaurant in Tomorrowland to build the alien invasion walk through and it was one of my favourite attractions although it was the shortest one. I can distinctly remember the smell of fog machines and rubber from the costumes lol.
That sounds amazing. I would still rank TDL castle walkthrough top ov my list ov missed attractions.
Hi ReviewTyme! Thank you for using our video. We are proud to have these kind of seasonal attractions in Hong Kong Disneyland.
Even though in my country we don't celebrate Halloween I wish I could of experienced the nightmare experiment.
Oooooh do they still do this?? I wanna go for the next Halloween!
@ReviewTyme whats the music during the beauty and the beast segment of the video
Ngl I’d attend this event if Disney did this to their other parks. It’s about time universal gets a run for their money especially in Florida.
The US Disney parks desperately need horror mazes. They need to compete with Halloween Horror Nights.
I could see something similar working in Hollywood Studios but I don't think Disney has any interest in competing with HHN and prefer to be an alternative to it
Now that Disney owns Fox. There could be a lot of horror movies under that umbrella
I don't see it happening, but I can see them trying making a cool horror experience that is spooky but not scary because again the kids are their bread and butter as well as the adults that feel like kids that really enjoy the fantasy more than horror
That would be interesting...But the likeliest thing I can think of is a Gravity Falls maze
So cool!
If they do another one, add Kang and Kodos
Disney World should open an entirely new seasonal only park for adults during Halloween that rivals Universals Halloween Horror Nights. They have the space.
They should do this for one year in Disneyland but like with diffrent mazes so like tommorowland have a Star Wars maze in fantasyland have a 2010 Alice in wonderland maze and a Disney villains maze in Frontierland have a creepy dumbo circus maze and in Adventureland have a Indiana Jones maze
The Main Street Haunted Hotel remains the best HKDL maze. Too bad there isn't any video footage online.
With Halloween Horror Nights right down the road I feel like Disney could use one of their Florida parks to do a more adult experience
But hey who knows. They could bring the scarry ones back someday.
Disney have an outer space themed land and the rights to the Alien franchise now.
One can always dream, I guess.
The truly sad thing is that Six Flags is the only company to do this sort of thing for the mainstream and they suuuuuuuck at it.
Universal??
@@ZoeMourning Universal doesn't really do Halloween.
@@protoborg ha- wha- but- HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS? what
@@ZoeMourning SUUUUUCCCCKKS!
@@protoborg that’s definitely an opinion
So there’s no full recording of the walkthrough?
Yeah it is very annoying , no hades footage ?
Unfortunately Disney didn't allow filming inside the attraction so the only bits of footage out there are from invited media who were only allowed to film in the first three rooms not the Beauty and Beast or Hades section unfortunately. After hours of searching I wasn't even able to find a single image of either of those two rooms so Disney clearly cracked down on the no photos rule pretty hard! - Luke
Do you mean Nightmare like Stress or Nightmare like bad Dream?
I’m guessing the reason why shows like this don’t get to come to America is because you know some idiot would bring their kid in, scar them, and then insist it was Disney’s fault.
Wait what happens if you’re chosen for decapitation do you just leave ??????
How come we only get two nightmare experiments?
I’ve been to scare as fked
Is it really the end?
6:39 if anyone knows the name of the music please reply below my comment
What happens to the guest who gets decapitated? Is the guest just an actor or something else?
This is seriously creepy.
Wait do they really kill u
That's more like Sweeney Todd than the Mad Hatter
1:11 is that trisha paytas?
Hahahaha. It does look like hrr
DED
Wtf Disney?
Wish disney would do.thins in California
What do you mean scare maze there no such thing disney is a happy place on earth
Part of me is tired of being punched in the childhood... but the part of me that's a sick little monkey loves the idea.
Screw the fun police (aka Disney)
No, it'd be way too scary for me I rather eat candy apples I'm meeting princesses
If I was chosen as the person to be decapitated, I would have been like, “Oh that doesn’t feel so goo-“ *Screams of pain*
What the Fuck
No
Why did the mad hatter kinda look like Trisha paytas
This is so weird. I never knew about this at all. Not a fan of using traditional Disney properties like Pinocchio, but this could be something amazing with the likes of Alien now they own the rights.
Not only are those costumes so low budget, this skips over imagination and purely seeks attention. Boring and lackluster. Disney is so much better than just a eye grabber. Bleh. Incredible video though. Thank you for sharing!!!
The issue I have with Hong Kong Disney is the lack of inclusive casting. If you can’t provide a black man the opportunity to play Dr. Facilier, don’t have that character. But replacing home with an Asian or white actors is just not acceptable.
....as if Asians have a lot of opportunity to play Disney characters either
LOL it's hard to find a black man who is able to perform and speak fluent Cantonese. Perhaps you should complain about having black and Asian Elsas on Frozen broadway.
@@thwongterry let’s be very clear about one thing. POC getting to play white roles is very fair. They have very limited representation and it grants the opportunity to change that. A black character is a rare find in the Disney-verse. By casting anyone but a black person to play that role, you are taking an opportunity from a black actor. POC can’t just be swapped. Also your comment about black people not being able to speak Cantonese is inaccurate and not an excuse. Yuck on you yuck yuck yuck
