The ED Casitas Royale is beautiful and a step up from the other 2 resorts. Love the food choices there most. Can't wait to get back next year for vacay!!

Wow, the place has changed somewhat from the time I was there in May of 2011. That was my first trip to Mexico, and my first resort visit of any kind. With the AI and AA here, I was spoiled!! Our group of 14 had a blast. Our concierge was British and he looked after us quite well. I see the prices for spring of 2022 aren't too bad, some of us may go again. One thing I remember about this resort was the food and the service. When we were checking out, a desk clerk asked if I enjoyed myself, I said, "Are you hiring"??
*Error* At the 1:47 'ish mark in the video, the restaurant is misidentified. She says it is 'Jade', when it is actually 'Kampai'. Jade is over in Generations.
Went in Jan. 2021. Casitas swim up. Sorry, will not go back. The neighbors next to our room had their AC leak all over their closet and their clothes. They had to be relocated. There are aggressive BUGS everywhere. It is a mangrove. The beach is utterly destroyed by Cat 5 Hurricane Wilma unfortunately. The rooms are RUN DOWN and super dark and super dated. The restaurants are hit or miss. NO buffets and small portions. First time on vaca where we were hungry most of the time. Also because the shuttles are equally sporadic and the drivers tend to HAUL ASS. Stayed 7 days 6 nts. Over $4000 down the drain.
Just got back yesterday from the Royale portion and should have upgraded to the Casitas. I do appreciate your video Angie as it gave me a chance to get a feel for things (and was VERY WELL DONE), so I knew my way around. This was our 5th trip to the region and unfortunately it was the worst of them all. I've never had a vacation where I felt ready to leave after just a couple of days. Maybe things are better on the Casitas side, but in general NOTHING was tailored to paid guests; everything here is for "Members" (who have to joined their club for tens of thousands $$$). While the location is beautiful, every room seems to has some damaged, broken or dated items and again, if you're a member, they are all over it - if you aren't...good luck. Angie's video describes the Casitas experience perfectly, but again - for the price there are many more VACATION focused resorts for everyone than the way Karisama focuses on Members.

Added correction to description.

That's disappointing. Your travel agent should have warned you about the dining and the beach.

Great review Angie. Quick question, can you use the beach on the Casitas area if you are staying at the Royale?
No.
Run run fast
Why?
