There’s anime for many kinds of audiences for different age groups and interests. There’s anime out there that doesn’t even need to be censored in any way. There are some that can be potentially interesting to those that like romance, drama, suspense, horror, etc to those that normally watch live action shows and movies that they may like if they know about it and see it themselves. Of course, they would have to be open enough to see animation in general. I know some genres like shojo and josei, for example, could be interesting to teenagers and adults who would watch them if they already like the kinds of shows and movies that would also be seen in something like Nana or Princess Jellyfish. Of course, it doesn’t mean that stuff have to change to make it more Western or to the point that it’s takes away everything great about Japanese animation overall.
On the other hand, I am aware that there is still some stigma in animation in general in regards to seeing it as a lesser kind of entertainment, let alone a form of artistic expression in some way or another. And I know it’s not just in western societies.

The voice actors who actually know how to voice act and do different emotions and different characters compared to the emo/cringe screech-read their lines from the script like modern English VAs do is night and day.

Plus other countries are now trying their own hand at animation like Pakistan and I’m quite sure they’re going to have censorship rules as well. Any anime company considering joining Disney is inviting the downfall of their stocks and the destruction of their IP. They may as well tell their fans, "we are no longer making entertainment for you and don't want your money."

Hayao miyazaki's work is very disney like. he's pretty darn successful. The godfather of manga/anime was inspired to make giant eyes because....of Disney. He was actually acquainted with him. Anyway, I think a minor disney treatment to their family movies would be successful. not so much to their shows which have a very japanese-esque feel to them.

It’s very judgmental now being an anime fan, it wasn’t like this 10 years ago.
I don't think Hollywood knows that mangakas and authors have more say in the way anime should get produced compared to the entirety of Hollywood. Because at the end of the day, anime's success is usually pre-determined by the success of a work of fiction in either manga, light novels, or manhwa rather than hiring an unknown writer to create something new for a play/movie/TV show. Because there's different forms of medium to entice readers, anime studios can use sales as a driving force to see what is popular.

Also, if you can speak/write japanese, try to leave the japanese creators messages that true western fans don't want any localizations and changes to the original. That already worked for some JRPG games that had terrible western localizations. Most of the time, the japanese creators are just not aware of what's actually going on because the localization teams feed them with lies. That has always been the case since the 90s.
Why a localization team is even in the same room and giving "creative" input is beyond me. Do your job and translate.

Disney just because you can't compete with Studio Ghibli, doesn't mean you should try. If you would have kept your original 2D animation studios, no one wants the 3D. Disney you can't afford it to acquire or make anime, because your company is slaughtering money going low and your movies are just terrible, stay away from live action. Animated movies, or your live action.
People do want 3D and there is a market for it as proven by Puss In Boots 2 and Spiderverse. It's just that Pixar and Disney use an outdated corporate artstyle along with CalARTs that was only good at the time Pixar was starting up in the 00s.

"Nerd hobbies" going mainstream has always been detrimental. Video games, tabletop rpgs, things like LotR, comics, manga and anime have all been in danger by woke vandals since they became more widely accepted. The last thing we need is Disney getting it's filthy tentacles into the core anime industry in Japan.
They already had, we just didn't see it. Who distributed Miyazaki's movies in the 90s and 2000s? Which movie studio allowed Disney to stage their parks in Japan? Which video game company has Disney associated with the most?
We need more regular tentacles rather than Disney tentacles.
Technically there are animes that appeal to a wide variety of tastes each season. I even almost wrote off Spring 2024 as being mostly lame, some of the shows I tried sampling were okay for one episode then I was like, "Nah" when I started the second, but then I looked at the number I will either watch during this season or at a future time and its higher than I thought heh.
Wind Breaker and A Condition Called Love are a couple were I tried episode twos of and those are not for me, I can say that much. Often you can tell with the first ep though.

The only way for Kingdom Hearts to fail is for Normua to make one bad video game with poor sales which would then allow Disney to own it fully. Anime is genre & demographic based. There is Shonen for boys, Shojo for Girls. Seinen/Josei for adults. Anime that are created based on established target audiences. Anime is successful because there is always something for everyone. Anime created using ESG DEI woke points will fail.

Kengan Ashura's creator already saw that fan translations are superior to western localizations for obvious reasons. It's part of the reason the Japanese are already shifting to getting AI for the translations over lolcowlizers.

Astro Boy, Mach Go Go!, Space Battleship Yamato and Macross are ones I got my friends into during the 70's and 80's. They then spread it to more people. People like me got the ball rolling and in the 80's we boomed. The 90's onward I was an anime God to my friends and it spread well in my area with 4 shops opening up just for everything anime. The 90's and after are Golden Years for people like me! And I'm still going strong!

Streaming allowed for ALL SORTS of anime, even the lesser known ones to be accessible.

However, the tides appear to be turning, and with things like the budlight, target, ben and jerry's boycotts, disney and blackrock losing billions of dollars, so it's not financially safe to cater to, "western sensibilities" anymore either.

Disney's stuff has been shite for years. They might make anime-style cartoons, but given that they don't understand what makes anime popular it's unlikely that it'll do any better than the rest of the shite they've been making.
Well, they did distribute Miyazaki's films untouched for a while, and left Bleach mostly untouched, my guess is they have a good understanding

Or more likely the original creator has more control of the IP than Disney does so Disney can only do the bare minimum to mess with it in order to get their hands on the IP for a western release or risk any deal falling through (for example I cannot see the creator of Love Hina allowing them to mess with his IPs given how hard he was against censorship if he has more than half control over the IP (biggest issue is how much control the manga publishers have I guess...if total/more than 50% control they may allow the series to be fucked for money regardless of what the original creator says)...If I'm right the guy who made Bleach is also similar in regards to his feelings on censorship too which probably explains how Bleach's new seasons have been at least decent for the most part (at least for the subs, I'm not touching the dubs even if Johnny Young Bosch is back as Ichigo cause a fair amount of the rest of the VAs will probably do a half assed job)).
