A bit of correction about the inspiration.
The Silvia LM Edition is based on the Hoshino Racing PERSON'S Silvia GT300 car, which was the first S14 chassis to compete in JGTC. Unlike the LM Edition's turbo engine in GT1 and GT2+, the engine on the real life car was actually a Supertouring-compliant Primera NA engine. The body of the car is based on the version of the car which ran around the mid-season till the end of the 1996 season. The car didn't appear in JGTC until 1999, when I.A.Tec Racing entered it at Round 2. The I.A.Tec version appears in Project A-Spec.

This Silvia LM was among my personal favorites in the first Gran Turismo, alongside the FTO LM, GTO LM, Cerbera LM, del sol LM and the Impreza Rally Edition. Honestly, Polyphony really cooked with their own original race cars in that game. I was really hyped when it was brought back for GT2 Plus (as well as both racing NSXes - the GT2 and GT1 Turbo).

Ah yes, the Christmas colored LM edition. Also comes in red for that jolly spirit.
Kind of neat to see the weird Gran Turismo LM editions that were left behind come back. I forgot that the Chaser LM ran this course too.
