- Although I didn't get a mouthful of Kimberley's legendary Purcell Powder I had an absolute gas exploring the resort's 1800 acres of skiiable terrain. Kimberley Alpine resort's long open groomers are perfect for laying your edges down and there is an unlimited amount of glade skiing. No matter your skill level, you won't get bored at Kimberley. Huge shoutout to all the awesome locals I had a chance to have a chairlift chat with. You don't find many ski resorts like Kimberley anymore, it's an absolute diamond in the rough!

I honestly hope you keep makeing videos for years to come! I’m absolutely hooked on you, your skiing and just the good vibes man! Love it!
I'm not going anywhere as long as all you awesome people keep watching!
From Eastern Ontario, you keep my ski dreams alive. Can’t thank you enough.
Glad I can keep the stoked alive Dave!
Omg rise and alpine. You are animal!! I can’t believe you skied and edited and uploaded in one day. I’m watching it now.
I assure you I am not that talented, this video was from a few weeks ago :). I just accidentally posted it at 12am LOL
@@riseandalpine you are like the ski vlogger world of David Goggins. We love your hard work and energy!
I'm a native Kimberley skier, I'm so happy you enjoyed it here! Come back again when we have more snow, full-fledged powder days are amazing :)
I'd love to come back for a full on pow day!
My hometown! Glad you enjoyed it.❤️ You are right. It's 1000x better with a good dump of snow and a proper base.
Thanks for the tours of all the frontier ski resorts the inland part of the interior of BC and Alberta encompasses many great mountains and small towns with great ski resorts people and snow !
BC and AB are legendary for skiing. Feels like there are endless amazing spots to visit.
First day we skied Kimberley this year was 1 day after 30+ cm. It seemed like more. Deep enough to face plant a few times on 85's...LoL Jackpot was pretty epic in the deep. I particularly enjoy the Easter chair, how the landing spreads out. Even though it was a weekend crowd, the resort does not seem busy, at all. Super efficient flow for what is basically a 3 chair hill.
So sick you got a pow day at Kimbo! Glad to hear it still feels pretty chill and not busy even when the conditions are still at it's prime.
Great review from a Kimbo skier for over 20 years. You went hard that's a lotta runs.
He goes ham, doesn't he? He packs a week's worth of runs into a freggin day.
Glad to hear the true locals think I did an alright job showcasing Kimbo. Would love to chase ya around on a big pow day!
You summed it up nicely!
I been voly patrol in Kimbo for a dozen years and it is a fun and friendly hill.
Powder days are a blast here as the whole mountain opens at once with no rope drops or avy hazards to worry about: it is full charge.
Also shout out to some of the finest grooming in the CDN Rockies!
What a fun hill to volunteer at. A powder day would be insanely epic. I imagine you can find fresh lines for days?
@@riseandalpine I overheard a pro tip from a Kimby local talking to his buddy on the quad. Keep an eye out for pieces of tape, or ribbons, on trees when you're cruising along traverses & between runs, etc,. Think pockets.
Welcome to our town! Ya the powder days are pretty epic. Thanks for sharing all the positivity.
Thanks for having me Spencer! What an awesome place to live. Can't wait to come back and experience a legendary Kimbo pow day!
Now, we can legitimately call you “Twiggy” King ‘o’ Twigs, LOL. Another great old school hill, like Castle, Apex and WW. Reminds me of the way all hills were when I first started (when dinosaurs roamed the earth when boots were made of leather and men were made of steel) great family vibes. Keep the adventures happening!
Wow you must be old LOL. laughing hard at yout comment. Kimberly rocks, would love to come back for some pow.
My hometown resort where I grew up before moving to Vancouver island. So good after a good snow. Thanks for the nice review and next time hope you see it with some fluffy fluff!
It's such a legendary place and I imagine pure heaven with fluffy snow!
Yeeeeewwwww!!!
⛷💥💨
I was there on March 13 (2 days ago) Got 8cm overnight and had a great time in the glades. Perfect pitch and space between trees. Just point and go.
That's awesome! Just missed the fresh snow. Those glades are some of the best I've ever skied!
James, love the skiing and the music you're adding to the vids!
Thanks Miles!
This came across my feed. I grew up in Kimberley. It has been the only hill I have ever skied. Those views brought back so many memories, along with some of the runs and the Easter and Tamarack chairs. It was awesome living in the town and going skiing every chance we got. Thank you for sharing.
Those sound like amazing memories! Kimberly is a wonderful place. Happy I got to experience it.
I have been the and Try the fris it's just sooooo GOOD
Let’s gooooo 🤙🏼 thank you for another resort rundown!
Glad you enjoyed this one Mackie
Loving the tour!
Thanks!
Great vid as always!
Thanks Finn!
Great video James. This ski season has been one wild ride that has yet to be complete. Kimberly looks nice. Just got to the end. Woah take care of that sunburn too! Looks painful. Lather up 🧽 with the sunscreen🧴.
Believe it or not, thats just windburn. I've got skin that goes red with wind, changing temps, alcohol and other stuff. People always think I'm burnt but I'm pretty dialed with the sunscreen given all the time I spend in the mountains!
Love this hill came out here with friends it’s awesome!
It's so much fun\!
Love your vids so much! Wish I could be there!
Thanks! Worth a trip out here one day!
Your the frickin man. I just watched your sun peaks video and got inspired to do gils while I am here rn. haha. keep up the good work.
Awesome! Let me know how Gils was?
What a great journie!!!. I will to do the same one day. Love your stories. You'r great......
You'd love Kimberly! The groomers on the main chair are absolutely perfect, could spend all day on them!
First Castle, then Fernie and now Kimberley! What's next? Panorama? Red Mountain?
These are the places I ski. ;)
We'll have to wait and see!
Ya gotta hit Kicking Horse again for sure!
day 1 on recommending to ski at new Zealand when the season is off due to how I'm addicted to ski videos
Maybe next summer. I'll need to probably pickup some extra work this summer to pay the bills!
grew up skiing here, great to see you visit it!
What an awesome spot to grow up skiing! I'm sure you've experienced some legendary days here.
@@riseandalpine a torn mcl and many icy days, but great family environment and is great for beginner tree skiing!
This epic!
Thanks!
Kimberly,...among the last of the old school mountains.
Truly old school. An absolute gem!
lets go! from az. these resorts are sick!
Ayyyeee! BC is littered with amazing resorts!
Hey Rise and Alpine. Love all the content. I gotta a challenge for you when you’re back in Whistler! Ski one of these crazy lines. Krakatoa, Sunset (to the left of 5-0), or Asian you know what! They’re the most extreme lines I can think of that are not deep backcountry.
Those would be sweet to check off. Krakatoa needs some serious snow to ski it properly but I've been eyeing it down for a long time!
My man, you're on the ski tour of a lifetime. I'm sure you have been, but I hope you're loving every minute of it!
You bet I'm loving it! Thanks for tagging along.
Hi James, love the content!
A couple of questions: Have you/will you hit Panorama? I will probably go there next season, and would love to hear your take. And will you ever make a video ranking ski resorts you’ve been to? It would be a fan favorite for sure.
Keep it up
A Pano video is in the pipeline, sometime in the next few weeks. To be honest I'm not sure if I could make a ranking video because all mountains are so different and have so many different strengths and reasons that make them fun!
Sunshine village is expecting a good POW day on Wednesday! Just lettin' ya know! =)
SSV is heaven on earth eh!
I'm kinda in love with this channel now, 🔥🔥
I also wonder what model are those red skies? I can't recognize them myself as I'm not familiar with the ski world.
So glad you're loving the vids! The skis are 191cm Nordica Unleashed 114's. My absolute favourite ski
These mid canadian resorts are all pretty sick. Have you thought about bringing the Ole van down to the US for some skiing.
I'm hoping to do the America voyage next season if I can figure it out!
Hi from Florida!
Whats up!
😂 “Omg, did I look at the trail map backwards again?”
I was digging the blue and black diamond groomers! That’s more my skill level. Steep, great carving, and more moderate bumps.
What length are your 99s? 180?
I think I recall you saying your 114s are 190, but can’t remember what the smaller ones are.
Keep kicking it, brother! You planning to do skiing vids until the skiing runs out?
Trail maps LOL - one day I'll figure it out hahaha.
The 99's are 186/7 I believe. You guessed right the 114's are 191.
Nice to have something a little shorter to make groomer turns a little more lively.
Won't be long and you'll have been to all Western Canada resorts!
That's the goal!
Rise and Alpine uploads
Me 😆😆😆😆
Just as stoked when you comment :)
Telluride Saturday
Insta is huge!
Best camera ever!
dang was looking to go but looks like limited snow
This was a few weeks ago before the big dump. I'd check in with some more recent visitors.
do you still break out the enforcer 104s ever?
I haven't used them much now that I have the 99's. I find myself flipping between the 114 and 99.
"A Shrubery!"
:)
Wow when are you going to ski in Spain 🇪🇸
That sounds fun!
What resort do you think is better, Kicking Horse, or Kimberly?
It depends what you're looking for, they are extremely different. KHMR is loaded with gnarly steep terrain, but Kimberly has great groomed runs and awesome glades which much more mellow pitch. Both are awesome!
panorama next?
We'll have to wait and see :)
when will you be back in whistler
The road trip continues - not too sure when I'll come back through. I'm liking things a little too much away from Whistler!
🔥🫏⛷️💨🎥
someone is up late editing lol also story time on the midget wrestling
LOL - one of the wildest events i've ever attended

Your promotional tour is not convincing me.
I'm not trying to convince you of anything hahaha
That goggle tan is spicier than the hot sauce!!! 😂
Somebody forget the sunscreen hahahah
Okay that's enough home advertising, time to revisit Alberta's biggest with everything now open
I might be having fun there as we speak :)
@@riseandalpine That's some luck getting here right when Wild West opened, did you manage to ski it?!
Ah man if I didn't have a party to attend tomorrow I just might have ripped out the Banff in the morning
@@riseandalpine hah given that timing had or will be
