Now I only know the musical. I'm not allowed to watch the movie. I know there's a character named Betty in the movie who wasn't included in the musical. Since I know nothing about her, I'll leave that one up for discussion

Debbie would have fit right in but the reason she’s the villain is because she tried to split the family apart. The Addams family is one of the most tight knit loyal families ever and attempting to try and separate them is one of the only things the family won’t stand for. If Debbie had just stuck to trying to murder Fester and let him interact with his family then she would have accepted with open arms.
Has anyone ever considered the fact that Debbie told Fester that no woman in her right mind would ever love him, and the next woman he falls in love with is literally named Dementia -"insanity".
