I think the judge is showing how screwed up the case is. She's going to let the DA's office hang themselves with their corruption and incompetence.
Then, she's justified in declaring a mistrial. In other words, she's building a case to justify a mistrial

Judge Paige seems to love the law, and enjoys investigating the aftermath, sorting through the wreckage that is this trial. Exposing first the blatant, undeniable incompetence and corrupt actions of the prosecution will ensure her an indelible declaration of mistrial. It should also effectively remove elements that have no place in an honorable and credible judicial system. I believe this YSL trial will be over the day the jury returns.

Here is the thing that stands out to me - not only did the PROSECUTION know that there had been a prior ex parte communication with Judge Glanville, but JUDGE GLANVILLE knew there had been a prior ex parte communication. So, at that court appearance, Attorney Steel is freaking out because of the later ex parte that he just discovered, and the Judge was threatening to jail him if he didn’t tell about how he found out, etc. And, at that hearing, the JUDGE himself knew that he had held a PRIOR ex parte also. He should have disclosed the earlier ex parte at least once the defense counsel started to raise objection and file motions about the second ex parte. The Judge was acting like he was one of the prosecutors, instead of acting like an impartial jurist. Disgusting. Judge Glanville should be disciplined by the Bar and/or the body that has oversight over Judges.

That new Judge tries to nicely reprimand Ms Love with her “take your duty of candor to the Court more seriously” comment. In response, Ms. Love says she does take her duty of candor very seriously. If I was a Judge, I would make sure that, if I reprimanded an attorney appearing before me, they would KNOW they had been reprimanded, and Ms. Love clearly did not understand that. If a Judge reprimands an attorney in the right way, the attorney sits down and keeps their mouth shut, and doesn’t backtalk.

I sincerely hope that the Court is not considering any sort of “sunk cost analysis” in making its decisions about whether this case has been irretrievably broken. Justice can NEVER be a matter of what is most cost effective or expedient. Further, if this case was to get thrown out, and the Court and/or the prosecution ends up looking like they wasted taxpayer money because of it, that seems like a good thing to me. Maybe that would serve as a deterrent the next time a prosecutor, or a Judge, considers violating the ethics rules in the interests of achieving a desired result.

@@paulatkins7009 I 100% agree with you! The party/parties responsible SHOULD be held accountable… and I feel this prosecutor office should be holding a murder trial with maybe a codefendant (if multiple parties were responsible). They wanted this high profile rapper attached to a rico case (imo). They (Fanni) wanted the attention/clout. But that added attention is now proving to be to their detriment. And 100% these prosecutors and judge have trampled all over these men’s rights - without question. Whether they’re guilty or not - they MUST follow the rules. And what’s more alarming is how nonchalant they were doing these improper/illegal actions… feels like they do this all the time. And that just can’t stand. When the former judge was charging the defense attorney about the ex parte meetings, he was specific in wanting to know the source of the information. Question**** Is there any possibility she is continuing without granting the mistrial because she wants to get as much as possible on record like taking the initiative to see how the request was made in the first place for the ex parte meeting as well as asking the court reporter to get a non official transcript ready which then got handed out to the defense. Could she be doing these things to make sure and get as much corruption out in the open and on record so theres no doubt or room for appeal. Also to get it all out in the open so that theres no way anyone can question her going against Judges in her own County?????????

On not granting the motions for mistrial based on any matters involving Glanville, it can be easily explained by Whitaker not wanting to spend all her future political capitol on raking Glanville over the coals. There is a process available for that to happen absent her weighing in. I believe that going forward the State has been put on notice, and at the first instance of the State being caught engaging in the pattern already demonstrated , she'll declare the mistrial. She'd rightfully be doing what should've already been done, if not for previous complicity from the bench.
As to whether enough of the jury panel hasn't been tainted during the pause to cause a mistrial..., we'll see. It would be a shame for a w/o prejudice mistrial declaration be the result here. The State should be rebuked in the strongest possible way, and not be afforded another bite at this apple.

Is it possible the judge is just doing her job, but at the same time having someone behind the scenes going through all of the transcripts to be as thorough as possible? I mean, that if she was to make a ruling dismissing the case with prejudice, she needs a damn good reason to do so due to the amount of time and resources used to this point. Maybe she is just covering her ass. I would assume that she would have to answer to someone about stopping everything. But I’m no lawyer.
