I bought on 03 3500 with 300,000km, in part due to the advice on your channel and so far haven’t regretted it! I need to do a bit of front end work and little cosmetic things but otherwise it’s a solid truck and I’m happy I went with it. Thanks for putting all your stuff out on this channel
I was recently in the market for a 7.3 , looked far and wide and I ended up purchasing a truck with 500k miles because it had the best service record I could find. Doesn’t have a hint of blowby. The least I’ve ever seen, I’ve actually wondered if it could somehow be a bad thing. It’s a 97 and has been serviced at Ford 79 times. I’ve put 4,000 miles on it in the first few weeks of owning it with no problems other than small things like power seat and power window going out and I replaced the icp sensor and the cps because they had 500k on them!
Just picked up an 05’…. Tuned w/ 300k on the clock. I’ve done a bunch of lil stuff like detailing and lights ect. Tranny seems ok and has a recent service. Engine is a complete beast. Runs really good and fires up immediately. I replaced the original radiator which had a lil seepage. Needs front ball joints and that’s next. Loving it so far and got it for about 1/2 of the KBB. Cool vid. Thanks!
Love your channel your buyers guide really helped me out. I bought a 04 2500 a month ago. I've been really happy with it. I had to fix some small things that really were not hard to fix. The main window control panel. Windshield wiper motor. So far a pretty good running truck.
Just found 07 5.9 very clean not much rust just minor surface rust nothing a wire wheel and under coating take care of. Interior is great except the middle console flip top is bit rough. Few cosmetic issues on body. Dealer is wanting to get it out of there hair lol. Does have 260+ on mileage and no blow by. Runs great just have to see what bank says.
I have a 2005 Cummins 5.9 with 781,000 miles and counting. It was my fathers until I bought it from him from $3500 it’s a 3500 dully has a MBRP 5 inch strait pipe gerrit turbo 100HP injectors and has a built transmission it does need a clutch windshield and fender flairs to cover up the rust 😕
My favorite diesel trucks are high mileage trucks. I bought my 01 Chevy 2500 LB7 with 400k miles and it was the most reliable truck I used to commute across several states pulling car trailers. My 07 ford f250 6.0 with low miles was a non stop money pit that would constantly leave my stranded. The 6.0 was maintained much better than the 400k mile dmax too. When I buy a high mileage truck, I know everything has been replaced or upgraded at least once. Low mileage means you’re going to be dumping lots of money into it very soon.
Interesting! You're lucky in the USA to ride with big engines....V6/V8 for most of people. In Europe it is not for everybody with gas and diesel gallon at 7 USD...I have pleasure to watch your video.Well spoken, easy to understand for my french ears...Thank you
I picked up a 2004.5 Cummins long bed bed 4WD Dodge Ram truck back in January of 2019 and it had 122,500 miles on it. Some of the major issues, newer outer tie rod ends, replacement u-joints in the front axles and newer hubs, shocks, brakes and rotors were already address and since the truck has spent all its time in Washington state there is no rust to speak of. The only major repair I see that this truck needs is all four 4 ball joints and I have already set a appointment for these to be replaced. The truck was kept bone stock and that was one of my major point that I had rejected all the trucks with tuner, lift and suspension and tire modifications. Medications like running boards, bed liners were acceptable. The main reason that this truck even needs new ball joints is the fact that the truck was used on rather rough roads and it appears it has never been used off road. So even lower mileage trucks do have some wear issues and I have already done a complete 100,000 mile service including changing out all the fluids including the brake fluid that lots of folks over look.
Just bought my first diesel. 2013 F250 6.7. the dealership replaced 2 injectors and A/C compressor. It has 315,000 and stock transmission. It drives good too. Also the truck seems to have been kept up with matainance, only one owner.

I’ve bought 2 used cummins trucks both with over 200,000 miles (one an 06 and another a 2011) they have both been cheaper to maintain, and have had less problems than my wife’s 09 Tacoma she bought with 100,000 miles so that’s saying something right there
That is a lot like my truck when I got it (average speed of 31 mph). I have since been able to bring my average speed up to over 35 mph but I'm at 9753 hours now!

Maybe haul my motorcycle but I’d rather ride that.
