- NRE's Customer, Nevin Jenkins, got so crazy about his NRE Powered 632 air boat that he had to create a movie! This is really funny. Nevin and his friends rented helicopters, fog machines, and more! MyCatInABox I have friends in connecticut that tune drag race bikes in dubai saudi arabia while at races between rounds..over the internet.and make huge cash at it those airboats are nothing but a lot of hot air..also turbo motors dont have much roar..I own one that turns in excess of 9000 rpm..and it sounds like a weed whacker

Boat has a 3/8 to 1/2 in. Thick sheet of polymer or uhmw on bottom. The better it's scratched the easier it will slide on dry land or the "hill" as airboat terminology goes. Definitely a high dollar boat with the counter rotating props and that beast for a power plant. Aircraft engines are also used in 4,6 and some 8 cylinder. aircraft boats have weight on there side. The car motor boats have a gear or belt reductions in ratios 2:1, up to 3:1 putting props at 3000 rpm and motor at 6 to 9 thousand rpm

I wonder, has it ever been attempted to put half wings on an airboat... like an ekranoplan? I would imagine lifting the boat out of water just a few inches would reduce drag enough to yield a significant benefit in speed and fuel efficiency.
Lifting the boat a few inches out of the water would more than likely flip the boat the prop would hit the water explode, and if you weren’t able to jump off the boat before it lands (upside down) you probably wouldn’t make it

Wow Tom, Not one good sound bite from that engine, just a lot of talk about wood n stuff....bleck. We need at the least a good 30 second sound....burst of the engine that's in the video or most of us fade off dreaming of 7000rpm pullin 632ci BBC's with twin mirror image 82mm turbos. The girls were nice but still, that was a big twin turbo motor that we want to hear!

Im sure they are talking about peak HP if they tried to run one of those engines at a continuous 2500 HP they wouldn't last very long, just like if you had a stretch of road that would allow you to drive your car wide open for several hours it would probably blow up, an engine that turns a propeller is more like a generator than a car unless your drag racing its continuous HP that counts.
