I think I'm better off with the Vivo X80 Pro. It has the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner 1440p screen, 1500 peak brightn6, 2x zoom and 5x zoom. And as they say, megapixels are not everything the 8 megapixels 5x optical zoom is better than most higher megapixels phones,

This throttles far less than the S23 Ultra I have but yes the battery on the S23 Ultra is fantastic. Still great phone for Vivo just needs some updates mostly for the cameras being quite consistent. The 1-inch sensor has huge potential for mobile photographers use to using manual settings to get the most out of it.

According to Vivo website the cooling VC chamber is only half the size on both Mediatek X90 and X90 Pro... So the throttling likely way more down to this than the SOC. Haven't seen a video taking the X90 Pro apart but would be hard to believe it's the same size if the website menions it's only half the size. And all Vivo X90 have poor battery life on mobile data - it's a shame on X90 Pro+ as they likely cheaped out on buying the X70 modem and went with a cheap solution instead. The modem is the main diference for 8Gen2 over Mediatek 9200 - but only if the manufacturer actually doesn't replace it like BBK so far has always done (otherwise they would have much better battery life on mobile data ). But yeah I would never buy it again (pro+) because of utterly poor software.

Excellent detailed review as usual thank you and here are some points if you mentioned them in your upcoming reviews will be much appreciated - DRM info is great but sometimes yoy have to share the playback specifications from Netflix itself to see if they support HDR capabilities - using third party launcher is is working as default or not plus using navigation gastuers with it - using standard charging protocol like PD & QC and which version support, this is really important as many of us using third party chargers - when featuring gaming capabilities especially of fram rate we would like to check PUBG mobile if it does support 90 FPS on smooth graphics or not - finally the supported Bluetooth and wired audio codec like LDAC, aptX, SBC and AAC.. etc Your reviews are considered references so addressing these points will help us a lot Thank you again
Hello! Great comparison as usual. Question: do you use a website to import those china only smartphones? What one do you use? Is it taxed upon arrival? I'm only asking because I also live in Spain and I was always interested in importing those phones, but I was always afraid to be taxed beyond affordability. Thanks!
I used Giztop. No import tax, no shipping and they installed the Google store for me in advance. Took only a week to receive it. Debloat it and you have the best phone on the market!
Vivo was smart not bringing x90 pro + to global market, because everyone would go for Samsung and apple, I understand And I respect why they always keep their best phones exclusive. Exactly as we had last year with Xiaomi 12s ultra. There is no point to release them globally if majority go for more popular brands which is Unfortunate in my opinion.
Seems like many people go for the popular brands because they happen to be the most available alot of the time. Its not like the Chinese brand phones are widely available in Europe and especially in Canada/US and you certainly won't see them being offered in phone plan deals like you would with Samsung and Apple. Huawei looked like it was starting to make some progress globally before it got its legs chopped off, so it does seem like the demand is there if people can find other brands of phones more easily.

Would love to see you review the Cubot x70. Thanks...
Would the x90 pro plus chinese version work globally if I was to import one?
Good morning I would like to know.
Between Honor Magic 5 pro or Vivo X90 Pro+ ?!?
Can you take this doubt away from me?!?
Thanks !!!
Great video!
I'm trying to decide bewtween
- Vivo X90 pro plus
- Oppo Find x6 pro
- Samsung galaxy s23 ultra or +
- Xiaomi 13 Pro or Ultra
What were some of the apps you used to do your tests besides 3d mark? You had a battery test one and a DRM info...
What did you go with?
HI, Thanks for the review..can you please see if the case of the Vivo x90 Pro Plus that comes in the box fits on the x90 Pro? the relly thin one with Vegan backing etc. Thanks
Hi it does.
@@Techtablets And what a case - I wish more manufacturers included cased that replicate the body of the phone!
Excellent detailed review as usual thank you and here are some points if you mentioned them in your upcoming reviews will be much appreciated
- DRM info is great but sometimes yoy have to share the playback specifications from Netflix itself to see if they support HDR capabilities
- using third party launcher is is working as default or not plus using navigation gastuers with it
- using standard charging protocol like PD & QC and which version support, this is really important as many of us using third party chargers
- when featuring gaming capabilities especially of fram rate we would like to check PUBG mobile if it does support 90 FPS on smooth graphics or not
- finally the supported Bluetooth and wired audio codec like LDAC, aptX, SBC and AAC.. etc
Your reviews are considered references so addressing these points will help us a lot
Thank you again
Nice, i got the plus version since a month and it is the KING, S23 ultra get hot and drop performance, iphone no thanks because is iphone
Hello! Great comparison as usual. Question: do you use a website to import those china only smartphones? What one do you use? Is it taxed upon arrival? I'm only asking because I also live in Spain and I was always interested in importing those phones, but I was always afraid to be taxed beyond affordability. Thanks!
Hi I used Trading Shenzhen for my X90 Pro+ with their global shipping and had no taxes to pay.
@@Techtablets phenomenal! Thank you for letting me know they are reliable.
Cheers!
No worries.

Pleaser make camparsion video between Honor Magic 5 Pro and Vivo X 90 Pro.. Which one is good option to buy?
The Magic5 Pro is better.
@@Techtablets Thank you for the update.. Eagerly waiting for your detail review on Magic 5 Pro. It's getting released in Germany on 6th April onwards
Sure well my review will be on the 11th.
They should've replace that 2x zoom with 3.5x zoom because using that 3.5x for portrait is better than 2x
It's available in X90 Pro Plus and it's fantastic. The only problem is that Vivo decided not to distribute the best model of the series outside china.
3.5x indoor is too narrow, for me 2x is perfect
@@PatrickWithCamera Zoom in using 1x ..
Because the front camera of the Vivo V27 Pro already supports 4K60fps video recording, I'm sure the Vivo X series released this year will do the same! So, I hope the Vivo X series launched this year will carry the specifications below

The fingerprintsensor alone is such a downgrade to the x80 pro its a shame.
Otherwise an unnecessary release with a price tag which makes it unbuyable
Can the x90 pro plus case work on the pro version?
Honestly, the only Chinese phone I'm waiting for this year is the Oppo Find X6 Pro.
It's the best in low light situations and the top 1 in DXOMark right now.. BUUUT as I like to record videos the lack of 8K makes me sad :(
is the vivo 90 pro plus has wider screen?
Since you have tested them all.. For camera which do u rate best pixel 7 Pro > vivo x90 pro > xiaomi 13 pro? Or some other order
Pixel 7 pro, X90 Pro+, Mate 50, S23 Ultra are my top phones. Those are all better than the X90 Pro
@@Techtablets thanks for the reply 💪
@@Techtablets Pixel 7 Pro is better than X90 Pro+ ??? My main focus is recording video so 8K is a must :) I think S23 is a beast still on this regard..
Just wish these weren't so damn expensive..
What better vivo x90pro vs OP11??
This is my next phone!!!!!!!;
I was thinking of buying the Vivo 90 Pro+, but then I found out that the phone can not be rooted. So now I will no longer be buying it.
Good comparition thanks
Where can I buy pro plus in uk
Only cameras has some issues, overall it's a awesome phone
Please review OnePlus 11.
Holaz vivo en Alemania, como puedo comprar el vivox90 pro plus??
Importarlo con Trading Shezhen.
Compare it to honor magic 5 pro
What do I need 4K video for? My screen doesn't support it nor does my TV. Hell, even my old eyes can't see in 4K 😂
@AnD, ну чё дружок-пирожок, жди футажи у Фила с моих рук 😂
Nice
Even the x100 has no 4k front camera its stil 1080p wtf
This is global release is rubbish for your money when you buy it. I have it and I'm using it now. I regret purchasing. Is better you buy a Samsung or pixel.
A very difference experience from my X90 Pro+ it really should have been the Pro+ we got globally.
@@Techtablets This model is a bit like a forgotten model in China. Sales are low. The regular x90 is a very big seller and i think they have focused more on optimising that as it's their biggest seller in the series. I thought they released that globally as well but all the reviews seem to be for the pro model which is a pity
What are the shortcomings you've encountered please?
Definitely worth importing the Pro Plus, it's a significant bump up. The Pro feels closer to the OnePlus 11 which is a half tier below.
@@maxszeto7030 Oneplus 11 is also way cheaper
Lol this is 100x better than that xiaomi 13
Such an expensive phone with such cheap color science. Inadmissible.

How so?
Also the pro model does not have the new Snapdragon
