I've had every pixel phone and fancied a change three weeks in with the Magic6Pro I'm liking it, it's really grown on me, as suggested in other comments I use Gboard and made it bigger, compared to the Pixel8Pro I had the hardware is better, the screen is better, the battery life is better, the sound is better, the software isn't as good but it's pretty good, cameras are really good, really happy with it 👍
And the network signal is recieved much (really much) better than on a samsung, pixel or iphone. (Yes, i make phone calls with a phone, a thing that reviewers evidently dont do)
I use the default swiftkey keyboard and just resize and move it a bit up. That makes it a very good typing device. Maybe even resize the left and right size as well, so keys don't touch the curved screen
It's what I did, but not to much as I feel like I am loosing space when keyboard expanded over website/rest of screen/ Actually comparing to my 2022 Galaxy S22 Ultra competitor a Motorola flagship Edge Pro, when on gesture mode (not navigation with 3 buttons) the Moto has a white line below the keyboard and above it empty space by default, so together it's like 8mm from the bottom, close to 1cm. 1st day the honor seemed like ops is this not thought off, typing at the very bottom with this heavy upper camera bump part, but I moved it a little up and I am used to it, I have even a little more space until I reach the Motorola, because the fonts on the Honor seemed a bit bigger and I have to keep them on Min, instead default to be perfect in 95% of the cases, only when typing FB post the font is too small, otherwise it fixed the large font taking more space basically. After these 2 I started getting used to it every day more and more, and now I think it's aa gorgeous flagship Android. I even found the 1st disassembly video and things are looking good.
@@Moneymaker-uy4fe tap the three dots on top right corner of keyboard, gear icon, layput & keys, resize. You can adjust height, move keyboard up and down. This reviewer is not that good

Great content. On my HM5 Ultimate in settings you have to select "direct unlocked" so you won't have to swipe up during face unlock. I'm glad Honor phones work great here in the states because I've grown tired of Samsung and Apple.
I have the honor magic 6 pro and download the Google Gboard (as with all my previous phones). You are right that the keyboard is way too low but you can actually move the keyboard upwards no problem. I set it to the regular height and have no more typing issues.
I am having honor Magic 6 pro. At starting I also faced the same issue with typing. Then I adjusted my Gboard keyboard and move it bit up like I was used to have on Pixel 7 pro. Now, I don't feel that problem anymore while typing.
I give you total right, the typing is so shitty, BUT, use Swiftkey and change the SIZE of the keyboard and swipe the bottom a little higher, than it will be like every other phone, as Honor makes it too much down the bottom, which gave me always miss placed letters. Now it is the same like all other pones and of course, when gestures activated, activate the line on the bottom.

I have no issue with the keyboard, Swiftkey is default in my life. Everything is great on this phone, let's not forget the cameras... 5 stars on slow motion part which is the best at 1080p 240fps. Also as @thrdeye said, speakers are AMAZING!

How are haptics on this phone? Lack of haptics on the back gesture, I can't position the keyboard the way I want, and then can't use the 3rd party launcher is a few of the annoyances I have felt. Thing I loved the most is display more specifically watching HDR content is way better than S23 Ultra or OnePlus 11 or even Xiaomi 13 Ultra (talking about Honor Magic 5 Pro) Phone smoothening is only matched by OnePlus 11 else S23 Ultra or Xiaomi 13 Ultra feels less smooth compared to Honor.
I've had this phone for about a month and there's been an update, I dont know if it fixed the keyboard but I haven't had any issues with it. Coming from a Xiaomi I'm making much less mistakes when typing. They need to relook at the software supporting the zoom lens. On paper it should be better than it is right now
I can see that Honor has a lot of room to improve. This is brand new phone, only 3 weeks old in the market. Im pretty sure that the company are listening to the reviews, and should make an update it in the future.
I had the same experience 1st day got me scared, likew why I upgraded from SD8 gen.1, but you can resize and move the Gboard up and leave empty space on the bottom, I compared it to my motorolla,is easier to type, it had the empty psace by default with a down arrow to hide it. Why Magic 6 Pro? At least in europe absolutely flagship specs without compromise but 400€ cheaper. I bought the Honor Magic 6pro over the Samsung S24ultra and Pixel 9pro mostly due to price the Honor was £799 the S24u was £1199 for less specs only 256 compared to 512gb HM6P. the Pixel was being released at £1099. And although will have a great camera and good AI, the hardware won't be as good as the S24u or HM6P.

Samsung is truly overrated and every Samsung product I've had crapped out after 2 years or before. Every galaxy S up to the S20 either had major battery issue before the 2 year mark and they become super laggy and slow and a few of my galaxy devices just crashed. Software wise, I didn't dig it either. The galaxy z fold was the last straw. Literally just before the 2 year mark it no longer wants to charge and switches off when folded even with 100% charge. So clearly something has gone wrong. And it isn't just their phones. Samsung fridge and microwave were shite always needing repairs. I once had an LG phone and my family still uses my V30 to this day.
