All in all, a happy ending for the Camry- it sounds like it is definitely going to the right home. You probably saved it from being scrapped by whoever else would have ended up with it, really.
Regardless of the negative opinions about the Oltcits, I really do wish you get healthy Oltcit back in working order because it's one of the rarest, most interesting and best condition cars you've got and it would slot in perfectly between the 2cv and the GSA. To stay in the Citroën spirit... I'm 100% team Oltcit!
I agree. I'd much sooner see some of the others cars go before the Oltcit does. I mean, if Ian let's it go he'll likely never get the chance to get another one, they're not exactly around every street corner, which does admittedly bring its own set of problems, but still.
I won't miss the Sana nor the Camry but I would have missed the Fox. Finding a good home for the Oltcits/Axels after some more work on them also seems a fine plan. So I guess there will be room for a nice HDI Partner/Berlingo...
If you bought a Berlingo the next problem you would probably have next is justifying keeping Giselle . In some ways they are both your budget family transport in new and old Citroën forms. Foxanne is perfect for the socials.
Thanks. Sounds like many sensible decisions there and the fleet improves, car by car. Glad you found someone for the Sana, and pleased you are persevering with the Oltcit. Chas is the gift who keeps on giving too. You have eluded to much good content to come too. Enjoy your holiday! We are heading to Lisbon soon and I will be looking for a diesel Marina...
BIG thumbs up for getting rid of the Toyota and keeping the the Fox. Would be great to see a short series of you fibergalssing TWC - with a sponsor maybe??
This is the fleet update I wanted to here, mostly because of the massively popular little blue van. First class decisions all round. Have a nice well earned holiday Mr and Miss HubNut. Nudge wink.
Great update Ian, I must confess that I'm pleased that you are re-considering selling Fox Anne. She's a great little car who looks at home at the Hub Nuttery home for 'peculiar' cars. Have a great break and I'm sure I'm not alone in looking forward to some new video's post holiday. Have fun, enjoy and chill. We all need some downtime from time to time. Take care.
Love the Oltcit's Ian I've owned several ax's and it kind of reminds me of them but with Citroen flat 4 sounds awesome . Burton engine in Elle sounds like a worthy upgrade . I owned a Sana 20 odd years ago it welded the headlight fuses into the fuse box but wasn't a bad drive if a little underpowered and dodgey gear change I seem to remember . And TWK it's taken 50 years to get such a beautiful patina (I could say the same about myself being 1971 variety lol ) don't ruin it unless it's affecting her structural strength you will regret it . And I'm glad your keeping fox Ann for the moment again she is beautiful !!!
Thanks for the update. Plans for the fleet all sound good to me and good for you too. Wishing you a very enjoyable holiday and a well earned break. Best wishes.
Sad to see things go, but ultimately good for them to be more prime focus for other people. Thinning out the heard can only be a wise move in the long run.
Awesome very happy you got shot of that Camry as that was not the best buy and im even more happy FoxAnne is staying as it seems it is destiny she will stay with you and the family for life , like the Matiz
Take the hard top off the Reliant, and drive it like a Subaru Brat, maybe even with rear seats in it, but no need. But just going slow noisy and windy around in it, like it was a soft top Land Rover or a Citroën Mehari, will add some extra fun to it this summer, I think.
Foxanne - If she is staying (Yay!), I think a quick 'fix' to make her more drivable and likeable would be to add some old-school soundproofing (the sort of thing they used to tell you to do in the old car maintenance books). Best of luck with your fleet. Gord 🙂
Concentrate on the ones you need and give you pleasure. Any that are untouched burdens will just give you stress. That may mean some hard choices in the future but for now enjoy those you keep.
Great News that Foxanne is staying on the fleet, shame about the Camry would have loved to see more content on it but at least you know it's going to someone who will get it sorted, same applies to the Sana it's going to someone who will get it running and you have the chance hopefully to test drive or review it. Enjoy the break away with Miss Hubnut, you deserve it.
Another fabulous fleet update. Thank you Ian. Please do consider a touch of sound deadening if you do keep Foxanne, Twc too of course. Spray adhesive and a 30cm square of underlay or bitumen stuff can really make a difference.
A suggestion for a little project to make the Fox more lovable would be a top-mounted rear wiper install?? Mercedes G-Wagon style.. Could be a fun half hour/hour long video.
A stay of execution for Foxy? Yaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy! Remember. A really nice one made Four Grand at Anglia Auctions. Now there's an incentive! 😄 I suppose you could always go down the camper route! Might need to fit a turbo though for the extra weight!
I’m pleased you’ve got a plan of action and sort out your fleet, it can be hard at times, especially if you get attached to your cars, I think you’ve made the right decision regarding the Camry, I think you were “Done” there, they knew the head gaskets were going but still insisted on their asking price. Glad your keeping Foxanne really, a pretty useful vehicle, you could do what you mentioned about windows or take the top off altogether and turn her into a little pick up truck. All the best with your plans and enjoy your holiday.
The keys for Elly will be in the last place you had them. Unfortunately that will also be the last place you look for them. Sorry, I'm not helping am I?. Every time in the past I have lost a set of keys I have then found them again in a piece of clothing that I was wearing at the time and then didn't wear again for ages because the weather changed. Maybe an idea to check all the pockets of winter jackets and/or trousers that you haven't worn for a week or more?
Could you get a second truck back for Foxanne, paint it the same blue, and cut windows into that, rather than destroy this one? That way you get the best of both worlds for when you need a handy van. Just winch the unused one into the roof space. Install hidden cut off and ignition switches on Elly, and never lose the keys again.
Ian, you have made some absolutely fantastic decisions and hit the nail right on the head. You've given yourself the opportunity to get the space and plan of action you need, to help you fall back in love with your cars - and getting rid of those unreasonable projects that take up precious mental strength, physical space and money. (Not to mention now having the amount of time to do everything you want.) All while ensuring that the firm favourites of the channel remain. Plenty of exciting projects ahead, but not so many that you get overwhelmed. It's amazing how brighter everything can see him once you've got a bit of space, and a clear plan ahead. Well done sir, enjoy your holiday. I look forward to following whatever the future may hold.
Perhaps Foxanne could have rear side windows fitted and then tint them with some dark film to keep the heat - and prying eyes - out so she still looks the same. If you go to a vehicle vinyl graphics place and get them to replicate your Hub Nut signs in vinyl to put on the glass that would finish off the job! 👍🏻
Appreciate, the Fox is not a child friendly vehicle as it is, but I'm sure it can be made a more usable car. Side windows is a great idea. I'd definitely look further into fitting a rear seat and seat belts too.
Hello "HubNut" from a sunny Lincolnshire. Well, I was just thinkiing as you was giving your tour, that there are a lot of projects going on, which I am sure that you will finnish, apart from the sale of one of your cars - interesting two wipers on the rear screen!! Reminded me of a dear (departed) friend who kept collecting old motorcycles as "future projects for restoration" and never really acheived it, sadly, because it became more of a burden than anything else with the very large garage and sheds were filled to overflowing! Anyhow, hope your holiday with your family will give you the "R & R" (rest and recovery) required to continue? Enjoyied your video (and other ones previously) Best wishes - John
What’s happened to Mark who was helping with the oltcit? I think you’re right getting shot of the Toyota, 1 big bus is enough and Betty has to stay. I think the sana and the oltcit pair possibly going is a good thing too, not sure on cutting Foxanne but keeping her is good. 1 resto project at a time is a wise plan, not necessarily good for views but better for mental health! Enjoy the holiday 💛
Yahoo. Glad Foxanne didn't sell the Camry is a much better idea..! If I could jump up and Down with joy, I would. Sadly my Buggered Knees wont allow..! "Great News Foxanne lives on..!" Power to the "Powerless is more..!!" Cheers kim in Oz..!😎
Good call on the Toyota and keeping foxanne the ones that have gone means there's room for a Berlingo or partner and that will make a excellent family car for u with Betty and the gsa and elly
As a long time Toyota twin and quad cam servicer, great you got rid of it. Those are a major repair prospect due to the need to have space. The long You Tube Algorithm of 22 specialist tools needed to do a head gasket right, makes the 60 degree quad cam head gasket an insurmountable aspect.
Good to see you are keeping Foxanne in Australia every body has to be belted in there is no grey area everybody has to be belted in in any car and even if the regestration says its a three seater there has to be a seat belt we are such a nanny state
Glad you're getting rid of the Oltcits and Tatiana the Sana. They're never seen, except as space fillers, and at least two of them deserve to be rebuilt and restored. And it would be great to see TWC looking as good as new. Why? Because she's the rarest car in your fleet.
Foxann is part of the furniture, "New windows" will help brighten up the inside, no point in rear seats if you're not going to use them. Just don't hoon around in it.
With TWC at the very least have the cracks around her rear window sorted to put what passes for some structural integrity back in. I'm sure Whiteland Restorations will do right by her.
Thanks for the fleet update, Ian. I agree with comments elsewhere about the Camry. It's moving on to get fixed and it wasn't the car you needed because Betty does the classic cruiser job (apart from the double rear wiper). Have a great holiday.
A nice fleet update, Ian. Ditching the deadwood is always a good idea. Have a nice run out in TWC and enjoy your holiday. All the best, Mart in Solihull.
Ian, Dad, and I when he was alive restored cars, tractors, and a lorry or two. With the tractors I always strived for perfection, dad would always put a nick in a washer so there was a little oil weep. It drove me crazy, but now I see the value in that. I now restore to a usable state, not the silly concourse. The things need to be used not wrapped in cotton wool. Now Faxanne would make a great little camper conversion, just right for you and Miss Hubnut. Drive there sleep in her and drive home, jobs a good one.
Cant beat a aussie car for just going and going. I took my old au wagon from sydney to wagga wagga last week. 11 hr round trip. Never missed a beat. Used no water no oil. Pulled to maca’s on the way down. Couple of young blokes leaning on there BA turbo, were looking at me as i parked up. I got out and said to them “ ugly au a boys” na they said ‘ its where it all began” . I then headed south to look at a 570 rear wheel kw , falcon fg ute turbo. BARRA. . I hope you keep betty, hubnut., its aussie history.
Maybe some sound deadening or carpet stuck on the inside would help make foxanne a bit more pleasant to live with? I don't have any first hand experience but I can imagine a fiberglass shell could get a bit boomy just from memories of those fibreglass trees you used to get in pub beer gardens back in the 80s, though hopefully Foxanne doesn't smell faintly of pee.
Sounds like some sensible decisions that'll hopefully make things a bit easier! Have a good holiday! Hopefully spot some quirky old SEAT or something whilst away🙂
Good to get some sales going on Ian. Bit of a bandaid moment, but given all the stuff going on (‘the project’, engine change on the Charade) it is good to create some headspace.
Foxanne! Besides the rather good idea of fitting side windows, you could greatly improve it by fitting larger door mirrors and a reversing camera which is easily and cheaply available on eBay. Not that any of this and buzzers stopped my wife reversing our Honda into a solid object in a drive that is 12m wide this week. Again!!
Oh I love a good fleet update. Totally the right time to part with the Camry. Any longer and you'd bond too much with it, plus you know it's off to a good home. Likewise the Sana was too much with everything else going on and there is no shame in admitting that. I'm still expecting you to come back from holidays with a Seat Marbella
A couple of rear windows in the Fox would make it safer, and would be dead easy to sort. Any of the mobile glass fitters who fix building site plant would fit you a couple of windows in an hour if you pre-cut the apertures. Good call parting with the Camry!
Great update Ian, hope you find Ellie’s keys soon and she is back on the road with a newly refurbished engine. I expect they will turn up in the most unlikely place! I think selling the Toyota and Sana are good decisions. Unpopular opinion but I also think if you get a good offer on Foxanne you should consider selling her, based on the reasons in your original video, which were sound. Wishing the HubNet family unit a relaxing and restful holiday, we’ll be here when you get back.
Glad the Camry is going and Sana,Oltcit pair going to put more time into projects you know you can get finished plus Ellie getting a fresh engine will keep a favorite going for a few more years.
There is a Military and classic car show at Hooton Park, Ellesmere port Sat 14th may with auto jumble sales in and around the 1940's air hangers. They are also after stall holders. Nothing to do with me but thought it might be worth a visit to anyone around North Wales Cheshire area.
Enjoy your well-earned holiday! Glad the Camry's got a future (those twin rear-wipers!); wonder if there are any other cars out there w/ such a feature (seems like one of the Nissan Estates had twins)...That Berlingo you tested recently looked like an ideal family-hauler!
Hi Ian, share the sentiments of others, Foxannes short reprieve well happy! still think your a Ford short in collection! Cougar or Puma maybe? my Cougar was epic ahead of its time but was a thirsty girl. Mrs Hubnut would love that im sure, enjoy your break buddy looking forward to" engine in" and family gathering for first turn of the key in Hubnut fashion of corse! all the best from Dorset cheers!
@@TheKnobCalledTone. Yup your right think what i was trying to get over was a quirky euro rather than giant Assie or yank tank! suppose most people now are under pressure regarding fuel....personally i would love to see a manufacturer make a simple 3/4 cylinder car without all the ECU`s and complicated gadgets! i`m not talking eastern block rubbish but a simple frugal practical car with an NCAP rating that doesnt strike fear! something that a family could work on, something just bloody different in style!
I can't cover disguise the fact that I'm really pleased you have decided to keep Foxanne. Please don't take this the wrong way but I couldn't bring myself to watch new videos in case I saw The Fox driving into the sunset.
G'day Ian, hope you and the family have a fantastic holiday and rest well. Wow! Lots of news regarding the fleet. Regarding Foxanne have you considered her as a ute? I did a quick search online for pics of Reliant Foxes, some had your side window idea, which looks great. But I found pics of a campervan conversion! Miss Hubnut would love it! (Evil Muaw haw haw!) All the best from Down Under:)
"I was blinded by the double rear wipers", probably a phrase you will only ever hear on Hubnut! 😁
Should have said he was swept off his feet by them instead, would have nailed it
All in all, a happy ending for the Camry- it sounds like it is definitely going to the right home. You probably saved it from being scrapped by whoever else would have ended up with it, really.

BIG thumbs up for getting rid of the Toyota and keeping the the Fox.
Would be great to see a short series of you fibergalssing TWC - with a sponsor maybe??
He won't do it, thinks fibreglassing is a dark art..... it really isn't the case, just need someone to show how it's done.
"That should be nice and simple". The HubNut equivalent to Top Gear's "what could possibly go wrong?"
Saw a Hub Nut sticker on the QE2 Bridge at Dartford today. Raised my spirits no end.😃
Brilliant start to the weekend, the Fox is staying!
Good news I like Foxanne, I was never keen on the Toyota, Sana was just to much work the fleet reduction is exactly what I would have done 🙂👍
This is the fleet update I wanted to here, mostly because of the massively popular little blue van. First class decisions all round.
Have a nice well earned holiday Mr and Miss HubNut. Nudge wink.

Sounds like you have made a simple and doable plan for this year and as others have said, room for a Berlingo!
I'm glad your keeping Roxanne all the work that's been done and it is handy if you need to go to the rubbish tip or pick up goods .

Thank you for letting us know what is happening with the Hubnut fleet. It is nice to know that you are going to give Foxanne a second chance.

Enjoy the break away with Miss Hubnut, you deserve it.
Enjoy your time off. "Eccentric Mechanism" sums Hubnut up nicely
Well done for keeping Foxanne, you know it makes sense Ian... as someone once said
Hope you and Miss HubNut have a super time on your fully deserved getaway and looking forward to tomorrow’s premiere!
Another fabulous fleet update. Thank you Ian. Please do consider a touch of sound deadening if you do keep Foxanne, Twc too of course. Spray adhesive and a 30cm square of underlay or bitumen stuff can really make a difference.
You need a key rack , like we have at work long piece of wood with hooks screwed into it and hang the keys on them
A suggestion for a little project to make the Fox more lovable would be a top-mounted rear wiper install?? Mercedes G-Wagon style.. Could be a fun half hour/hour long video.
A stay of execution for Foxy?
Yaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy!
Remember. A really nice one made Four Grand at Anglia Auctions. Now there's an incentive! 😄
I suppose you could always go down the camper route! Might need to fit a turbo though for the extra weight!
The AU Fairmont - what a magnificent car - keeps making me think of a modern Jaguar.
Glad Foxanne is staying -she’s my favourite!
I would like to see Foxanne as a one person camper van 😅
I’m pleased you’ve got a plan of action and sort out your fleet, it can be hard at times, especially if you get attached to your cars, I think you’ve made the right decision regarding the Camry, I think you were “Done” there, they knew the head gaskets were going but still insisted on their asking price.
Glad your keeping Foxanne really, a pretty useful vehicle, you could do what you mentioned about windows or take the top off altogether and turn her into a little pick up truck.
All the best with your plans and enjoy your holiday.

Have a nice holiday!
So glad to hear Foxanne is staying now, my second favourite HubNut fleet member after TWC.
Spring content. Holiday ✨️. Hope The HubNut family comes back revived.
Sensible decision to part with the Camry, Ian, likeable and interesting though it is. Soon be a smidge of space for a "Multispace" 😉
Yes…best to take a smaller profit and move on to more lucrative projects.
Good to see you are keeping Foxanne in Australia every body has to be belted in there is no grey area everybody has to be belted in in any car and even if the regestration says its a three seater there has to be a seat belt we are such a nanny state

I'm with every decision you've made there, it all makes sense. I'm intrigued to see what the courtesy car will be.
Hi Ian thanks for your update,I hope you have a great holiday
Thanks for the fleet update, Ian. I agree with comments elsewhere about the Camry. It's moving on to get fixed and it wasn't the car you needed because Betty does the classic cruiser job (apart from the double rear wiper). Have a great holiday.
Thanks for the update. Any car you've bought was for the right reasons, same for any car you've chosen to sell.
Sorry to hear about her tired bottom end. We've all been there, Elly.
Hubnut making sensible and rationale decisions in 2022, the influence of MrsH is clearly showing :)
You have to make sacrifices to live, just tell my old Austin montego
Yay Foxanne. Would like to see the flamed parts Oltcit actually be used to improve the runner, too many new parts being bought for that project.
Fibre glass is very simple you should be able to do it.
A nice fleet update, Ian. Ditching the deadwood is always a good idea. Have a nice run out in TWC and enjoy your holiday. All the best, Mart in Solihull.
I would love to buy Foxanne but have too much on my hand already. Windows would make it almost a Rancho. Loved those.

Nice update we all make bad dessisons. Am glad you are keeping Foxann. 👍
I wouldn't fit windows in Foxan, love the way it looks
Nice to catch up with a fleet update. Hope the oltcit can get done! Really hoping to see a hubnut road test of that one!
All this sounds sensible and very positive - I look forward to future videos.
Enjoy your Holiday and see you when you get back.
AirTags or equivalent for your car keys.
Enjoy your well-earned holiday! Glad the Camry's got a future (those twin rear-wipers!); wonder if there are any other cars out there w/ such a feature (seems like one of the Nissan Estates had twins)...That Berlingo you tested recently looked like an ideal family-hauler!
Yugo gone as well , good news . I’m looking forward to seeing more mechanical work going on the channel
Yes, too many non-goers definitely means time for a cull! Cheers.
Betty should count as two Fords, given her physical size and engine capacity that's double (or more) that of a typical Euro Ford ;)
Maybe sound deadening and line Foxannes rear end would make her nicer to drive perhaps?
G'day Ian, hope you and the family have a fantastic holiday and rest well.
Wow! Lots of news regarding the fleet. Regarding Foxanne have you considered her as a ute? I did a quick search online for pics of Reliant Foxes, some had your side window idea, which looks great. But I found pics of a campervan conversion! Miss Hubnut would love it!
(Evil Muaw haw haw!) All the best from Down Under:)
i think a nice diesel estate would suit you well, something comfortable, something practical
perhaps something like a Citroen C5?
