I did. The LP Trad lives hidden under lock n key (theyre $4k in Oz) for last 10yrs, and only comes out about once a year. The CIJ Strat gets played every week n lives under my bed.
Lynyrd Skynyrds original music is proof of this. Gary on his dirty gibson and allen or ed king or steve on a strat. Almost every song has that dynamic. When they split solo it comes to the surface.
@@johnnyholtzhausen3493 Just... I am gonna go ahead and just stop you right there. What did you say? "Fenders in general are meant for rock"?... I guess I've been using my FENDER JAZZ BASS all wrong this whole time. Hahahahaha. This clown is so far out of his depth that someone should throw him a floaty pool noodle.
@@johnnyholtzhausen3493 I would respectfully disagree as the humbuckers on a Les Paul are perfect for other genres like heavy metal and the Strat is also great for jazz as well
More mid, brighter sound from strat. LP had more low bottom end for me. Both are great guitars. Just depends on which one you want for the job at hand. For recording purposes, I'd probably use a blend of both guitars to get a full rounded sound in the mix with bite and warmth. ❤
I used to think they were 'gay'. I didn't think the single coil was cool nor did I appreciate the shape. I love the playability of Gibson Les Paul's and the Humbucker richness and crunch is amazing for certain heavier styles (Tool, Drop D stuff) but, I went and bought one, put a hot rail pickup in it and I really like it. It definitely has it's own character. More snappy where the LP is more sense and crunchy. In the end, I like the Strat just as much
A strat will make you a better guitarist a train your ears a little better. Less Paul is good for rock shows where everyone is high on drugs and don't care
I have both. US models. I favor my LP, but play my strat more often. The Strat is much more versatile and chimey! The feel and looks of the LP can’t be beat. Nothing sounds like a Strat though
Dissecting fleas trying to differentiate between the two, not to mention myriad variables in guitarists, amps, pedals and settings on each, including the guitars themselves. And, playability is also a big (pretty subjective) variable.
Lol if you cant hear the very clear difference then you need your ears checked. The Strat is much warmer and the Les Paul much more depth to the crunch... 👂
I’m a Les Paul man through and through, have 3 Gibson, an epi, and an AXL. That being said I do long for a strat! Used to hate them but now I feel the need to own one
The funny thing is could swap the pickups out and reverse the sounds. I’ve got a hot rod strat, and all 3 of my LPs are totally different. Got one with PAFs, one with p90s, and one with Fishmans. Hell I’ve even got a tele with EMGs. 90%+ of the sound is coming for the pickup type, power and position.
This song emits electrifying emotion, and the Strat does that better on this song. I have both and which one is best always comes down to the song and the tone that works best.
Нет в этих гитарах много различий, как со стороны звука, так и со стороны конструкции. Stratocaster даёт мягкий и мелодичный звук, когда в тоже время les Paul даёт более метальный и жирный звук
I didagree. I learned on Les Paul and tried a strat, it has askightly different feel. But there both electric guitars and both make their own special sounds
Your far better off learning on a strat because you'll be better at knowing the notes and when it's in tune. Les Paul too muddy, is ok the people who like the Les Paul are tone deaf anyways
what amp was behind it? In my experience, Most gibson have a better sound on a marshal amp. And a fender amp was build for a fender and sounds evenly awesome as the other combo.
2 points as 16 year musician: 1. Stratocaster - most on High Frequency 2. Gibson - most Mid to Low frequency. Note: major factor pick ups (amps may factor a bit) both have distinctiveness, taste may Vary, good musician knows how to apply good Music either the 2 of them
Ma alle nostre orecchie arriva sempre sempre la stessa emozione perché è il pezzo che è emozionante non sono le chitarre che rendono tale questa famosa hit.
Ofc strat sounds shitty if you dial in the tone thats good for a les paul… my main is a strat and second SG and i allways have to dial in or out treble depending on which i play
When the engineer uses the mixing board there won't be a difference, if you want a be a good guitars learn on the strat because you wanna know what the notes are and when it's in tune. This is so important, a huge difference between a musician and not a musician.
Unpopular opinion: Positions 1 and 2 on the Strat may as well be joke settings. 3 (middle) through 5 (neck) are the only legit options. I say this as a Strat lover.
On this lick from eye of the tiger sounds better with the strat...I will try it on my Ibanez guitar...It sounds deep and its bright on the low strings...
Both are amazing guitars in their own way so it all comes down to... buying both.
Exactly!
I have no money tho 😢
I have both lmao
Nailed it! Always room for more…
I did. The LP Trad lives hidden under lock n key (theyre $4k in Oz) for last 10yrs, and only comes out about once a year. The CIJ Strat gets played every week n lives under my bed.
A Strat and a Les Paul when played together make wonderful sounds.
Lynyrd Skynyrds original music is proof of this. Gary on his dirty gibson and allen or ed king or steve on a strat. Almost every song has that dynamic. When they split solo it comes to the surface.
Agree! 👍
Iron Maiden
Teles too
Yeah, the Les Paul for the background pulp and the Strat for the Clear Lead.
That song was meant for a strat.
Agree
Other than perception, what makes you say that?
I can't hear the diff, fenders in general are meant for rock and Les for jass and rnb😮

Depends on the music you are playing... That's why there are so many different types of hammers, screwdrivers, etc. Different tools for different jobs
Reminds me of that guitar player using a coin for a pick. If the strings survive only half a gig, who cares? He got the sound he wants.
@Voor Naam ha! I have tried that... even defaced a few quarters.
@@voornaam3191 I think that you mean Billy Gibbons in fact that's exactly who you're talking about!!
Absolutely agree with you. I've been playing guitar for a lot of years and I have many guitars that I use on many different songs.

Allegedly.
The older I get the more I become a Strat guy, I never thought I’d see the day
How about a tele? Haha

I can't make up my mind. I like the way both of those guitars speak
Me too
ofcourse it sounds better both of them as long as you know how to play
Both great guitars... Preference totally up to the individual..
A strat will make you a better guitarist a train your ears a little better.

Stratocaster definitely🤘

That Les Paul you have sounds killer !
Must be listening to a different video.
It's a little muddy, makes it more difficult to play in tune
No problem the people who listen to les Paul are tone deaf anyways.
Les Pauls are always out of tune anyway. Thats part of their charm
Both sound amazing

Strat is a crunchy Gibson is a fuller and thickness tone also sustain but I preferred strat because when I was begginer my first guitar is strat
Something is wrong with lp’s setup, very poor tone…
Start. That single coil sound is perfect for this track
Es mejor en la strat pero, en lo personal me gusta más la Gibson
Les Paul!
If you like to play out of tune and be the joke of the music world.
why you hating with a 30$ rotting chinese stratocaster @@drmidnight680-kz2le
Every guitar player should own one of each, nuff said!🌝
Eh sorta,
I’m a Les Paul man through and through, have 3 Gibson, an epi, and an AXL. That being said I do long for a strat! Used to hate them but now I feel the need to own one
Agreed, and less Silver Sky ripoffs, work on your strat, you are meant to and it will be better when finished.
@TysenAKAPville get a Boxer Edition, the new ones. Mean af tone, faster fretboard, limited edition, and it's again, a Strat that is way more able.
What? 😂
Fabulous sound from both guitars 😊
it depends on humbuckers
I have both because I play blues on my strat 🎸 and rock on my GIB👌
I have both and depending upon what I'm playing depends upon what I'm playing on.

No question…the Strat!

Les Paul the best
No
Si, la Les Paul es la mejor!
Definitivamente!
@@dukamrgud1934yes
I'll always go for the Les Paul.
Originally, Les Paul was used in recording and MTV. Nowadays, a few tweaks in EQ and sound processor makes a better and fuller sound
American made Fender and Gibson are both fine guitars with very little difference between the two.

The Gibson Humbuckers are smooth here 😮🤔
I like the bright vibrant sound from the fender but I also love the les Paul, it's a bit darker but has that bite. ❤😊 I love em both.
Just get both and an es 335. And then a tele
335 and get well away from your amp... They feed back if you look at them... Don't dare turn around
first the telecaster
And then an SG, then a Jazzmaster, and the never ending spree of buying guitars continues..
They're both great depends on what kind of music and tone that you want.
Your far better off learning on a strat because you'll be better at knowing the notes and when it's in tune. Les Paul too muddy, is ok the people who like the Les Paul are tone deaf anyways
Nice tone bro
Absolutely a strat on this tune.
Gotta have both. And maybe a Tele, or Gretsch, Taylor .....
Stratocaster is King
No
I think they are very similar in sound and especially tone. The amp settings probably contribute to the sound more than the guitars.
Les Paul any day, I love the full solid sound, no cheese
Les Paul sounds muddy not as clear at the strat.
@@kestutisbagusauskas8323 C'mon man.
Those are my two 🎸 and if I’m being honest, the Les Paul sounds more cranked up a bit. However I love both of them.
Les Paul all the way, love the strat, but my 1960 Les Paul is a beast
Yeah right
Both sound great...
Stratocaster is full, sharp, powerful… best sounding!!
Watching Sullivan play live on a strat then switching to his les paul, his tone was night and day different. His playing was even better
Strat is the number 1!
LP is very good but Strat is King
EXACTLY how they should sound 😊 the strat is abit tinny and the Gibson is abit fatter. Both perfect exactly how they are
Strat wins, hands down!
I Love Both and Both have their place in Music History.
Thru you tube and android speakers they both sound the same.
what amp was behind it? In my experience, Most gibson have a better sound on a marshal amp.

LES Paul Forever !!
I just always liked the feel and even the look of a Les Paul better. Both nice guitars though.
Strat wins again!!! 🎉
I'd go for the Les Paul! I like its tone!!
I have two Mexican strats an American Strat with 1984 serial # and a parts caster .. all 4 get played but my studio Les Paul never gets played
Would my 57 Telecaster get played😊😊

I love me some Telecaster, but Les Paul wins the day!!!
pizzicato must be played, pizzicato! My friend
Strat sounds better on this amp.
Strat for me. Both sound lush though.
Depending on whose wielding it.
This song was recorded with a stratocaster and therefore the sound comes out much more beautiful.
Hi, what song is this?
Les Paul !!!!
Your a lesser guitarist.
it is always interesting when tones sound but no tones are played
Strat every time 🎉
I can tell that strat sound like dry & les paul wet sound. Both if combine make beautiful sound
Les Paul's just have more style
La versatilidad del Strat con las pastillas es impresionante
La versatilidad de la Strat es maravillosa con las pastillas
The style is irrelevant, what we wanna know is how good of a guitars you are. You're probably tone deaf
Settings are way off for the Les Paul sound. Are you rooting for the Fender Strat? I see the poor Tele in the background wishing she could play too.
Strat
Ma alle nostre orecchie arriva sempre sempre la stessa emozione perché è il pezzo che è emozionante non sono le chitarre che rendono tale questa famosa hit.
Fender all day
If you have a properly set up HSH guitar with coil options you can get Fender or Gibson tones with the flick of a switch!
Ofc strat sounds shitty if you dial in the tone thats good for a les paul… my main is a strat and second SG and i allways have to dial in or out treble depending on which i play
Strat!
I like the Gibson, has a wee bit more of a snarl!
Think it was actually recorded on a Gibson Explorer?
Strat on this...
That's like saying Perry or Whitford, Izzy or Slash, James or Kirk, Sabo or Hill? I know which ones that I would choose.
Izzy
there's no major difference but your playing skill
Both sound good and strat was made for this kind of song but I prefer the Les Paul but I'm biased as hell
Well the strat sounds better but you did strum all thru the dead notes on the les Paul which gave it that jangly tone.
If you don't look there is not much of a difference. But there are no humbuckers on the strat. Just single coil pickups.
Strings are my thing. Im happy playing about anything
Nowadays you can use a stomp box or a processor to make them almost indistinguishable.

The strat is a little more sharp, a little more in your face. Both sound good though
Both are amazing guitars but I will always pick a Les Paul
Невозможно выбрать. Оба прекрасны❤
I had a door that wouldn't stay open. Needed a doorstop. Bought a Fender Stratocaster. Problem solved!
Depends what you have behind you
i can feel the fuzz of the gibson but this song was made for a stratocaster

Considering the saturation it really doesn't matter.

I prefer strats, but for this scenario, the les Paul sounds better.
