this is actually a great way to deal with pollution. people pay a bit extra for their bottled or canned beverages, but get it back when they recycle it. if they do not recycle it and instead litter it, people are encouraged to pick them up and recycle it for the money it gives them.
Here in Ireland we got the return deposit scheme introduced with a ridiculous crutch... you can't return "damaged" bottles and cans. So much for encouraging people to pick up litter... 🙄

@@ConsumerGoodsExperthello brother can you please tell us, is there any way to import these machines. Please if you have some idea feel free to share with us
Cool that you can put them all in at once, usually you have to feed them one by one to the machine. I've never seen this type of bulk recycling machine before (I'm in Sweden).
We just got them recently couple years ago too. I think Sweden should have them too since the company who makes them is Norwegian Tomra and Swedish Investor AB Latour also owns part of that company.
Thanks for the information! I checked Tomra website and their products look gigantic. Was this machine really that big? Couldn't find the name of this model tbh. Cheerz!
These Tomra machines are really smart in recognizing eligible bottles and sorting them. I can't cheat it. It is possible to put a barcode on a bottle, but the shape and possibly material have to match. It has a machine vision with each product on file. I haven't tried attaching a string and pulling the bottle out because there is a surveillance camera. The deposit fee is too small for most people to bother. In Latvia we get only 0.10 per bottle. If a drink costs about 2.00, then that is an acceptable proportion to lose. Homeless people and cleaning crews collect most littered bottles, and the overall return rate is around 85%.
I like to experiment with new machines. The bottles need to be the right shape. Same mass is not enough. I tried stuffing a glass bottle to match the weight. I also printed a barcode for a can that was bare shiny metal with black print, which could not be read. I think cleaners at the shop might decide to feed already compressed bottles through a second time if the shape wasn't tested. They are already collected.

Hello, I find this video interesting because it shows another form of recycling. Sorry for the rant but I'm intrigued in the concept of how European countries recycle. Thanks for the video 🤗🙆
@@ConsumerGoodsExpert It would be fascinating to see the US manage their recyclables like in the EU since it would be cheaper and more inviting to those who do/don't recycle and it would also be beneficial since it makes everyone's life easier and more efficient as well. ♻️
