Great group of finds. The Celtic coins with CVN are often attributed to King Cunobeline (c10 to 42 AD), the King Cymbeline of Shakespeare, Even if it is a contemporary counterfeit, it is still a great relic of a famous king. Some people apparently believe the the name Cumobeline is actually a title rather than a name, meaning War Chief. Great cannon ball, too.

Imagine the damage that canon ball did! 😱! You’re one of the best!
Imagine we were there, when it was fired...
I believe that hole in the canon ball would have been packed with gunpowder and shot and a fuse inserted so the canon ball would explode when the fuse, which would be ignited by the cannon blast, burned down to it. The length of the fuse could be used to get it to explode at the right time.

@@billbhein2949 I can’t answer that on this coin but I have seen that occur on other coins. Like anything it all depends on what someone is willing to pay.

Hi John, glad you back on your feet again. As a cook I always associate chafing dish as a type of dish to keep food warm like a ban Marie. There are some similar looking handles on the interweb if you Google it. Do you think that the cannon ball was ever fired? If the fuse went into the ball was it like a grenade, I'm a bit confused. Thanks for the heads up on your new permission video, am eager to be amazed 👍

I think I would downright pass out if I ever found a Celtic coin counterfeit or not! Congratulations! 🎉🎉 I scoured several sites with Celtic coins and was not able to find a match 😢 However, I did find a Celtic coin dealer by the name of Chris Rudd that offers free coin identification via email. I can't post it on RUclips because it will block my comment, but I can send it to you on one of your other socials if you'd like.

Looking at the wear pattern on your Celtic Quarter Stator you might find that it is actually solid gold and not a copy.
If you get a needle, find one of the dark pitted sections, poke it in and twirl it around, that could very well reveal that it is actually solid gold.
I think it is worth you attempting this.

I have no direct knowledge by experience or studying of any 17th century cannonball from English Civil Wars of 1640s but question the surface corrosion it is
not much on there and I would expect close to 400 years of iron in ground the object would have more rust and crud build up? There is lots of moisture
there and far from an arid climate how can it be not more corroded? Asking
