- A new metal detecting permission produces some incredible finds dating to the era of King Robert the Bruce, Edward Longshanks and William Wallace from the 13th century over 700 years old!
Metal detecting is a hobby of chance and luck. A field can produce and ancient treasure from now where…. A chance discovery or even a recently lost find but it’s an incredible feeling when you uncover items with the history and significance as these!
The 13th and 14th centuries were a tumultuous time for Scottish history but several rebels rose to the attention of the known world and these find hail from that time period and who knows may even have been held by those involved.

In 1997 hubby and I visited the Wallace Monument, he climbed up the monument I sat in the coffee shop and had cake. This hammered coin brings it all back. Great day ending up at Stirling Castle, then the laundromat. 😋 following from Australia 🇦🇺🦘🦘🇦🇺
