The competition is brutal and hard, there are really no easy games. It only takes for you to be a little bit off and this can happen to anyone. You have to really admire what Geelong and Hawthorn were able to achieve winning 4 flags each in the last 15 years, those teams were merciless.
I often think of that Hawthorn time, so much more than luck.
So much salary cap shenanigans.

I'm a Collingwood supporter, and I just wanted to say the Saints won fair and square. Yes, I do think the ball was out of bounds with the Higgins goal but even if it was called out of bounds, Collingwood would have still lost.
The will wasn't there and the pies were off their game. Hopefully the pies get things right and start winning and playing a hell of a lot better.

Don't be disappointed at all. Last year's grand final was not that long ago. Watch a video replay of it and enjoy reliving the moments. Unfortunately this happens often in sport. A team puts so much energy into winning a premiership and then don't show up the next year. They'll come good again.
Umpires weren't in anyone's favour, that's footy, anyone that brings up umpires needs to grow up. Saints won the game, regardless of umpires.

I played this video at 0.25 speed and paused just at the point of contact with the kick, took a screen shot and zoomed in and I estimate that about 25% of the top left side of the ball was still over the line and in play.
I like daicos, think he’s way too praised and gets way too many cheap touches, but undoubtedly skilled and has footy smarts. But if this kid wants to be a great he needs to win some contested ball and stick some tackles.

Wayne Harmes, Tippa on Anzac Day 2021, Jeremy Cameron and Jack Higgins love how the boundary line just disappears against Collingwood.
Worse than Higgins throwing the ball in 2018 and winning goal of the year.
It's been proven just recently with some new footage found at the ABC that the ball was not out of bounds when Wayne Harmes hit the ball into the goal square to Ken Sheldon.
Using this video played at 0.25 speed, I managed to pause the video right at the point of contact with the kick, I took a screen shot and zoomed in, and I would estimate that about 25% of the top left side of the tilted ball is still over the Boundary line as he kicks therefore by the rules the ball is still in play.

Out of Bounds: where the football passes completely over the Boundary Line or touches a behind post or touches the padding or any other attachment to the behind post but before doing so, touches the ground or is touched by a Player on or above the knee.

Haha look the Wayne Harmes GF was 10 years before I was born, so for me it’s more just folklore that it was out of bounds.
Even proven to be in, it will always be the reference point to a ball out of bounds but not called out. ✌️

Ive known umpires and the things that are important to umpire advisors are positioning and how well you flap your arms about. You have to run like a fairy, thats a non negotiable but as far as decisions....who cares if theyre all over the place. Its all about appearances.
