  • Adam Gold and Brian Geisinger, 24/7 Sports/Buzz Beat Podcast, on the Charlotte Hornets first round pick and our local guys getting (or not getting) picked up.
Does Brian like the Charlotte Hornets first round pick in Tidjance Salaun? Who would he have preferred to see the Charlotte Hornets pick? What does this mean for Miles Bridges? Looking at our local college guys trying to get into the NBA, is Brian surprised at where Jared McCain went? What about the fact that Kyle Filipowski is still on the table after Day 1 is done? Where is Bronny James going?

Hornets wanted... Sarr, Risacher, Reed, Castle and possibly Holland. They were gone. We didnt trade back because Salaun was the last player in That Top Tier and the Spurs were gonna pick him.
Salaun makes so much sense. Upside, Shooting Potential, Frame, Wingspan, Heart, Work Ethic, Clifford Approval. Hes at least 2 years away tho... which is not a bad thing.
This is the first international player selected in the Lottery for the Hornets. Its a Global Game. The pick shows growth as an organization.
We will be in the lottery next year in a Big draft and prolly get a SF to complete the puzzle.
    MELO
    MILLER
    2025 LOTTERY
    SALAUN
    MARK
    Show some excitement you guys.
    Let the new regime cook!

they must of not got the info yet, (who ever was talking), but from what i understand, we only had 1 true option at a trade back and it was with the trailblazers at 7, and they didnt want to.
So it will always bee a conversation from now on why we took salaun over clingan, because i think for certain clingan is a future allstar or nba champion. Its the era of the bigs again, and these skilled bigs are the most important. That is the exact reason the grizzlies took a dive at 9 for zack edey.
Now i dont think salaun has all star potential, but in my not so respected opinion, hes the next aaron gordon. I feel confident making that comparison rather than trying to compare zach edey or clingan to a jokic, or an embiid.
these teams are drafting so early now that its hard to make an honest guess of how the player will turn out, but i see a young aaron gordon.
floor, is a more awkard but yet faster and stronger shawn marion (better defender). Ceiling, is a mix of Giannis Antetokounmpo, and aaron gordon (overall helping hand for the backcourt).

@@woomington You might be right. I see the league moving to height and shooting. Salaun shoots better than Castle, Matas, Clingan, Holland, etc... And hes younger than all of them as well. I think its a calculated risk that keeps us in the lottery next year.
We are playing the long game to win a Championship, not peak at a play in.
      I like it.

Back issues don't normally go away, though I don't know the extent of MW's injury. I'm excited over the pick, but I'd have probably drafted a center to be safe.

@@weather3d I think the staff wants to have proper strength and conditioning for a year then figure out the health of Melo and Mark. No need to pick players in their positions until proven otherwise. Tgey believe in their development staff, lets hope they can develop Mark!

@@weather3d if we didn’t have Nick richards, I’d say you’re right. But from what I understand we are going to have a better backcourt next season while “tanking” so that’s a good thing. It means we will have room in free agency and trades next season to make moves for some big offensive pieces at the 3 or 5, if we lose miles or lose mark Williams.

Theory: I heard Memphis was offering three first round picks to move to top five to get Clingan. When he was available at six they were on the phone making us an offer to swap their 9 for our 6.
The Spurs(8th pick) really wanted Salaun, to pair with Wemby and Castle(4th overall pick). The Hornets knew that if they traded back to 9, the Spurs would take Salaün, so they held their ground and made their pick at 6.
The Spurs pick Dillingham with their 8th pick and trade him away to the Timberwolves. It is clear their plans didn’t pan out for them. Memphis picks Edey with the 9th pick, after they tried their best to move up for Clingan.
This Hornets pick changed more than just our team’s evening. This move had a ripple effect. I feel more confident in the pick, if this theory is true.

Why is he so worried about the Lakers hype. Bro you farm franchises win every lottery and draft. But no chips. Your rivals are places like the wizards, Atlanta, Brooklyn, not the lakers or Celtics or knicks

Who wants la lamelo. He has proven to be useless. It does not matter how good he plays. He is never on the court. Just like his brother. I am a big fan but that's the truth. What value does he have for anyone.

Hard for me to see a team with bridges ball Williams and Miller tanking. When healthy

You would think that someone out with a back contusion for such a long period of time would've experienced some nerve damage. I don't know, but Mitch didn't seem too optimistic. Hopefully, you're right, and he'll play 10+ yrs in the league.
