Guys really ??? are these "Forest ist better bring him back" comments realy that smart?
Forest leave Beyond Creation for reasons and i think Forest teach Hugo on his last weeks/months
Forest is better, no doubt about it, but hes 40 and Hugo is 22
I see a really really talented young guy on the Bass with Tons of potencial.
Forest is done for Beyond Creation but he let a awesome legacy for this band and Hugo picks it up that fucking easily.
Just enjoy this Band like before, its still fucking 6string Fretless \m/
Couldn't have said it better!
Truth.
Yeah, I mean, Forest is a next level player who left some big shoes to fill, but Hugo's got chops for fucking days. Kinda reminds me of some of the shit the new guitarist for Obscura is getting through no fault of his own. Besides, hopefully Augury puts out a new jam sometime soon and we can all enjoy some more Forest action, too, haha.
Holy shit im dumb! I thought those were actual frets and not just markers the whole video
You're not dumb. I only picked up on it after a minute bc of the difference in technique that a fretless requires. I was too busy wondering how immaculately low the string action must have been set up. Vasily Alexeev (RIP) couldn't play one of my fretted axes that fast. Odin bless Hugo, though. The kid can work around the board like water on a hot skillet.
Hugo is fucking brilliant, and anyone who has seen them live can definitely agree.
What a fucking amazing playthrough video. I'm drooling over here!
Even its Forest or Hugo, they still sound amazing! Both of them are excellent bassists!
Sky is the limit for this dude. He is half of forests age and he is keeping up just fine with these crazy ass bass lines. He has his whole life to improve and he is even a beast now. I'm super impressed
I've seen Hugo live. absolute beast!!
not a single mistake
This dude is great, leave him alone, I love forest as much as the next bass nerd but this guy absolutely kills it
Not only does he have the speed to prove his worth, his gear is glorious too
That’s a kiesel vb6 in his hands
Fretless of course
A friend of mine has both heard it live, and played it in person
Yeah I'm gonna need more bass play through videos.
That Kiesel is absolutely beautiful
Hugo! you sir are awesome and you are not replacing Dominic at all.... YOU ARE the evolution of dominic
Rodriguez Mexican Saiyan They're two different things, not in the same evolutionary line at all
Damn man no matter how good it sounded when i heard the original album cut this version has something extra, Hugo and that Kiesel bring something new and fresh..
Unbelievable! Wow I'm so blown away right now! Keep it coming :)
Awesome playing, and it's the most beautiful bass i've ever seen in my life!
This is my latest craze of Beyond Creation and to see Hugo carry the torch of Forest man thats dope.
Phenomenal bass player, Forest's composition is exquisite and unique, time will tell about his own composition, but the skills are there.
IonObliv Simon Gerard wrote all the bass lines. Forest is awesome but he didn't write this.
luke towner wait... how?
beyond creation is one of those gems of a band where you can appreciate all the instrumentation and vocals, everything that makes beyond creation what it is goes together better than cereal and milk
the bassists shine even when not amplified such as in a playthrough like this, truly art
This is excellent. Hugo's playing fits perfectly with the bands music
I just saw them live a few days ago and Hugo was really killing it. Overall awesome live performance by the whole band! Looking forward to new material written with Hugon on bass.
It's a fuckin extreme experience to see them live! They are fucking beasts..
Brutalized Necrofucker yes they are, and it's absolute fantastic, breathtaking almost
True. Saw them with Obscura, Revocation and Rivers of Nihil. Fucking insane show.
Me too! \m/
Brutalized Necrofucker Where? :)
In Italy, Brescia!
amazing bass man, really good playing. a good choice to replace dominic, i cant wait to see what he is capable of in the next album.
my bass is now for sale
my was after watching this guy ruclips.net/video/_YWR4n0VszI/видео.html
@@AzogDefilerFromMordor Yes this guy for me is legend 👌😈👌
It's great to see amazing bass playing in metal music. Looking forward to the next album!
Cc Chicken Dawn of Dementia
First Fragment
Unhuman
Teramobil
Brought By Pain
Spawn of Possession
that is only a short list of bands with amazing bass
Absolutely phenomenal and next level
I’ll always like and enjoy good bass play through videos. Super good jamming! 🤘💀🤘
I personally prefer Forest's sound, but Hugo sure does prove he can fit Forest's shoes no problem.
And also that Kiesel proves how stunning it is, both in beauty and sound :).
Edit: I also love the fact that the pickups are really close to the strings (especially the high strings), making it probably feel like you play on a ramp.
The only real con to that is that if you fan out your fingers widely and have fast wrist motions, the downward momentum of your hands will cause your fingertips to collide with and bounce off the pickup covers. It's created some interesting sounds for me when it happened.
Indeed he can! I like Forest´s tone more because it´s smoother, however, Hugo plays wonderfully.
I saw him live when he used an SR and i liked that tone more i think
If you like Forest, he's playing in another fantastic Montreal tech death band called "First Fragment"
The bass is a Kiesel Vader VB6. I have two Vader myself, a fretless 5-string and a fretted short-scale 6-string. These basses are amazing and tons of fun to play.
It sounds like he uses a lot of dynamics in his playing. He knows when to pull back and when to hammer it out. I find that to be extremely cool.
Brilliant and beautiful.
You’ve done an incredible job. I love that bass your playing.
I've been waiting for a video like this for a long time. Hugo absolutely tears it up, amazing. The only difference that i can notice is in the tone, which for Hugo is more like clanky, while Dominic's tone blends in with the song and makes everything seem smooth; however, i'm sure this isn't noticeable live, so, this is amazing. Blown away!
I'm speaking as a drummer, but this is excellent stuff. I love the fretless sound and can't wait to hear Hugo's contributions in the new album!
Hugo serieux je te leve mon chapeau , mechant playthrough de malade \m/
This guys fucken incredible! Very captivating loved seeing him play! Keep them coming
This whole album is a fucking masterpiece!
Perfeito!!! Muito bom o som e o cover!!!
Amazing! You make it look so easy
Hugo awesome job dude!
Mestis t-shirt! What a collab that would be.
Kick ass Hugo!
Phenomenal work man! Love the bass sound. Reminds me of geddy lees bass at times! (Hopefully that's a compliment hahaha) also Kiesel Vader for life!!
Awesome video
Beautiful
Awesome as always :D
love you guys
damn dude that was sick, and the bass is sick too! I have my km7 on the way right now, but I didn't know they made fretless basses!!
Yes! Yes! So much Yes!
Amazing!
Love the fretless sound so much. \m/
Any chance we get the same for drums some day? Any song would do, they're all great
I like it. Aaaah, love
Awesome 👍🏻👍🏻
Gief guitar playthrough of this song!
Absolutely clean
very inspiring playing :)
This is amazing
Glad they got someone that could actually play it without looking like he is struggling like hell.
But obviously I hear the difference between Forest and Hugo right away. Forest has a very soft fretting sounds when he taps and faster picking. But I mean, I wouldn't want him to just copy a style completely.
Travis Hunt 100% agree with you man
Pretty fucking awesome, great job
Big shoes to fill, but this guy is good and will need time to develop into the level of bassist that Dominic is.
Quit being so judgmental, and be more supportive. We all love this band and want them to keep growing.
I think that there's no reason (for now) to complain about. Forest was tired, dude was in like 3 or 4 bands at the time with 40 years. Honestly I have so much hope in Hugo, maybe he bring another kind of writing or stuff like that, dude is awesome as the band
Cliff Burton, then Jason Newsted, both great, but one always lived in the other's shadow
@@seanglueckert8312 exactly
@@seanglueckert8312 Except Jason was average af.
This is so awesome!!!
I've been waiting for another bass play through. Your bass sounds great, but I still miss the Ibanez. Amazing work.
Being an Ibanez player myself, I can totally understand what you mean.
Absolutely SAVAGE! I'm a huge fan of Forest, but Hugo can definitely hang with the big boys. They were big shoes to fill, but I think he did so brilliantly.
Also, anyone know what he tunes his bass to?
In addition to all the live videos I've seen of him, this playthrough only further solidifies my opinion that Hugo kicks ass.
That being said, I have always meant to ask: why did Forest leave the band? Was it because of artistic/creative differences? Personal ones?
Agera 93 asked him and he said it was mostly because Beyond's sound was becoming too soft, and he already is in augury, which he calls his prog band. He is now in First Fragment because it is more intense. He wanted the band to keep their sound like it was in The Aura
Amazing‼︎
He's a monster... How can he even remebrer the parts? Siiiiick!
Vous etes malade les gars !
sick, nice mestis shirt
We will see them in Guadalajara
Headless & fretless! \m/\m/ I love my Steinberger XP2 (the "V" of their line).
please make the bass playrhrough "the inversion" Hugo
This makes me want to push my bass skills further.
WOW!
Trop fort les gars
I AM SUPER ENVIOUS OVER THAT BASS GUITAR.
Please share the options you selected for that gorgeous bass!
Powerful.
Come to Nuevo Leon Mexico please
Heya there, im on 6 strings fretless too tuning drop G and im searching for 175 gouge strings but i don't know where to find those, can someone here help me ?
\m/ love it
Guys, we all love Forest and we all think he is amazing, but cmon, Hugo's fucking 22 years old, I wish I could play 1/32 as good as him when I was 22, he is an amazing player and he will get better, keep supporting him and the band.
Es el mejor de todos
Master!!
Of puppets
you are insane!
I REALLY want them to release a live dvd
Damn that Kiesel... Vader model? I think anyway... Yeah damn that's nice. Sounds great.
This is the best song in the world
Superbe vidéo ! Que de pratique, discipline et talent !!! J’aimerais bien savoir si tu utilises des cordes de type « flatwound » ? Au plaisir de vous voir le 8 décembre!!!
2:13 goosebumps every time
No doubt there my dude
I actually want to play this just for the solo alone 🤣🤣🤣
this is insane
Playthrough Coexistence!!!!
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAH BOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
beast
Maybe you should make a video of Coexistence or Fundamental Process!!!!!
I love the sound that has the bass in beyond creation, although I really liked how he played Forest, Hugo does not have to turn back or point of comparison, it's great !, I have a question that I doubt they respond, by chance that effects occupy For the fretless to have that tone? Chorus? Omnicab? Which is the one that does the work in particular?
awesome dude. right the fuck on
Sick bassist, definitely the right guy to fill the shoes of LaPointe. Even though it's not a fretless he doesn't need one, raw talent.
It is a fretless
i'd love a bass playthrough like that of any song off of Algorythm. Wonder why they stopped doing them
That part at 2:13 must be so much fun to play.
Jacob it's sounds crazy difficult and intimidating but it's surprisingly easy
Hugo his a boss
Oh this song makes my leg numb
bad ass bass
Oh nevermind, holy shit this guy is good
Well... It's still a pretty awesome song/ album/ band. soooo I want to listen a new album with a bass part composed by the new bassist !
kylalyd sennighton listen to the band "Brought by Pain" That's Hugo before he joined Beyond Creation
The 10 dislikes are from people that play bass with a pick.
Ew
The only bass player that I don't mind playing with a pick is Nolly Getgood
Zursu what about David Ellefson?
Jared Dowty Boyer plays with his fingers. I saw them live last month, so I know.
Schhwifty as a finger/pick bass player, I find your comment very retarded
