GREAT NEWS! The notes for the latest patch (1.03) states that this issue has now been resolved. We'll be keeping the video on the channel for posterity, but this issue should no longer be experianced by gamers playing on Patch 1.03 or later. Hi Everyone! So there's a bit of a bug at the moment in Mass Effect 1 Legendary Edition where the Spectre Weapons do not become accessible after reaching 1 Million Credits. Until they patch this there is a fix, and in our video we explain how.

I think I've never seen this glitch before for one simple reason: I always visit the C-sec requisitions office right after becoming a spectre. A lot of these glitches seem to be tied to changes to the achievements. It's really unfortunate that the achievements weren't properly implemented. A lot of them just don't show up for me; particularly paramour ones and the best one, the Insanity III achievement.
Honestly this bug made the game more fun for me. The random loot drops have never been so interesting as I searched for and used all different weapons.
Hi @trengilly, we'd personally rather be able to get our grubby mits on all that lovely Spectre Gear without issue, but it's great that you've taken this approach. As long as you've enjoyed the game, that's all that matters when the credits roll.

I agree. I didn't actually know there was a glitch in this game or how the gear was unlocked. I found some of my favorite weapons through the loot drops (like the Crossfire X A Rifle equipped with High X rounds and the Brawler pistol with flame rounds. And let's not forget about the Geth Pulse Rifles!). Figured it was a progression thing as I kept checking shops after every couple of side missions and level ups. Finally got Specter X weapons after Vimire mission, but didn't really use them as I was already good and set up with my looted weapons!!

Endgame: Who doesn't like a good old Geth Pulse Rifle, am I right!? Owning Geth with their own artillery, now that's what I'm talkin about!

Thankfully didn’t run into this bug, BUT I did run into allot of bugs and crashed in ME: 1, ME: 2, and ME: 3, how buggy this game is across all 3 games is actually ridiculous, I ran into a bug in ME3 where when Jack had her barrier up, the kid on the right kept hitting the barrier itself with his blast because he was hitting a rail, so I ended up having to watch as all the enemies were dead, but the barrier kept taking damage leading to a mission failed because of a BS glitch, I’m just done with the game at this point, screw going through ME3, also I’ve had a reoccurring bug through all 3 games where the dialogue would just completely cut out, this happened 4 times in ME1, 6 times in ME2 and 5 times in ME3, the worst one was in ME2 because i got into Tali’s loyalty mission, and the dialogue cut out 3 times before I got it working, and then it cut out AGAIN when Tali is on trial 3 times.
To talk about ME1, an awful glitch was when I was on the final mission of ME1, and when the companions (in my case Garrus and Liara) went to finish off Saren, the sound of the gunshot played AFTER the shot went off, and then all other sound effects played the exact same way, upon the multiple crashes, sound completely cutting out and all other glitches I ran into, that one was by far the worst……it’s just nuts how buggy this game is, across ALL 3 GAMES.
@Black_Heart74 Hi, it is a little disappointing how a lot of the bugs have been passed on to the Legendary Edition. As for this bug it has thankfully recently been patched. Our guys are presently working on the Mass Effect games, Cyberpunk 2077, and Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, and a few others, so if you're playing any of those and you haven't already, please be sure to check those out, and let us know what you think. @@badlydrawngamerz6704 so can I create a brand new save? If I don't have a save before becoming a spectre, i know you said to just starts new game, but do I choose pre existing? Or will just a brand new character work? If that makes sense
@SirMag yes you can. Obviously be careful not to overwrite the saves you are using for your proper playthrough. Be sure to change XP system to Legendary Mode in both the playthrough you want to continue with, and the new one you're doing just for this fix. Get to before becoming a Spectre and save just in case you need to retry. Once you've redone and become a Spectre, check out the C Sec Shop, if the Spectre Gear appears, save and then reload your playthrough save, gear should appear on both shops there as well, and all future playthroughs. @SirMag, which shop did you check? Was it at the C Sec Requisition Shop, or the Normandy? In our tests it did work each time, but there could be other unknown conditions that we're not aware of presently.
I never even knew there was specter gear
Idk how it happened in my game but after I got lvl 28 in legendary mode the lvl 10 versions unlocked
@Dyls_ Xo It's definitely a very bizarre one, other players are reporting a similar thing happen, but the XP Level seems to vary between 25-28. I'm afraid we don't have an answer for that side of things at the moment, but if we do we'll be sure to update you. Thanks for the feedback! 👍
Seems to not work for me. Tried it multiple times already. Loaded my old save game before the council, finished and went to csec req, saw spectre gear but not enough money to buy, saved it. Loaded my progressed save, went to req and none. X6 and none.

Judging from others who have commented we beleive this is potentially related to the XP mode you are using, people using the Classic Mode seem to be struggling, but if you are using the Legendary Mode it seems to work okay, it certainly seems to be that way for us. @@badlydrawngamerz6704 yeah, I'm using classic mode as I wanna level to 60 like in the old game. Just gonna wait for a patch though. Hopin there will be an armor glitch though, haha..
@RJ B Nice, it's a shame this issue exists, hopefully they do patch it soon as its clearly related to the inclusion of two different XP modes. We'll let you know if we spot anything decent armor glitch wise. We do have this little glitch for when you get to Virmire: ruclips.net/video/U3rnPv5NkGA/видео.html it allows you to keep getting gear from the same container over and over. Happy Gaming!
Hm nice video thanks but i have a question.I can buy at C-sec requisition offer or Normandy merchant Spectre weapons mark 7 normally.But that's all only mark 7 not better.So does this helps to find better Spectre weapons like HMWA VIIi or HMWAIX ( Spectre assault rifle mark 8 or 9 ) ? I'm ( in legendary level ) having character lv 26 with 7 million credits so i'd like better weapons
Does this have to be from the same game playthrough or can you start a new game/character and run through with that till you get to a spectre??
Hi @Nuclear Leprechaun, yes if you need to you can start a new save until you get to becoming a Spectre again. Once the glitch is achieved you can then load your original playthrough save and it will have also unlocked them there. Make sure you are using Legendary Mode for XP on both saves, as this also can affect things, and in your Spectre save be sure to save right before becoming a Spectre just in case you need to try more than once. Yeah I already tried this same workaround, unfortunately it only works ONCE, now Im stuck with level VII Spectre weapons at level 54. In other playthroughs by now I had level X Spectre weapons for my entire squad. Even if I try this again, it doesnt work anymore.
Hi @DesertStateInEu, sorry to hear this, we were able to get the level X Spectre gear, this may be related to the Classic XP system as we are playing in the Legendary Mode where max level is 30. We don't know if it will work but maybe create a separate save of your current playthrough to experiment with, and then change to the Legendary XP mode, see if that makes a difference? 4 weapons that is, so atleast I was equipped properly.
@DesertStateInEu the bug itself must be related to the changes they made with adding two different XP modes, it's a bit of a pain and we hope they do sort it out soon with the next patch! Happy Gaming!

What if I only have one save file and don’t have it? Would I have to play from the start on the other save file until becoming specter with legendary mode?
Hi @Mike Barrow, yes, in the game save you are using for your playthrough change to Legendary Mode and save. Now start a new game, making sure not to overwrite your original playthrough. Then with the new save get all the way to being a Spectre, once you've done this go to the C-Sec shop to make sure they now have Spectre Gear stocked, if they do, save. Then reload your main save and it should have opened up the Spectre Gear here also for both C-Sec and Normandy Shops. Hope this helps!

@Mike Barrow, we bought the first tier Spectre Gear, and then the Level X unlocked later, so you should be fine, and others who we have spoken to seem to experiance the same, the issue seems to be the Two different XP modes, on Legendary the level X seems to unlock. Do you know if there is a way to get the level X weapons? I'm level 51 but when I do this only the level VII weapons show up.

@@badlydrawngamerz6704 It worked! Thanks for the suggestion. I honestly didn't even notice the Legendary Mode leveling at first. The only thing is that they showed up around level 28 while I expected them to show up at 25 (in the original they showed up at level 50) but that might be intentional.
@Roborovski Hamster it's a funny old issue, a bit odd that they felt the need to add a different XP levelling system. We get that their intention was to make it easier to max out before the end of the game, but we feel the issue it causes with the Spectre gear should really have been spotted before release. Hopefully they patch it soon so that everyone can get the gear the proper way! Glad to hear you've now got it sorted. Happy Gaming!

Hi @Jerome Sears, sorry about the delay. We tested this several times and it did seem to work each time. This is unfortunately a bug though so there can of course be some descrepancies. Did you save right before Becoming a Spectre? If so you should be able to try this a few times to see if it unlocks it. Once you've done it in one save it opens up the weapons in all of your saves. Hope this helps!
UPDATE: This may be related to using the Classic XP mode. A lot of our viewers seem to be having this issue and they all appear to be using the Classic Mode, while in our playthrough we have used Legendary Mode. If possible, duplicate your current save and change to Legendary Mode, do the same when you go back to before becoming a Spectre, try again and see if this solves the problem.

@Lrac Gnahz sorry to hear that, we're afraid that unfortunately we don't quite know why this hasn't worked for you. We've just tested again because of your issue and we can confirm it still works, our game is on the latest patch.
@Lrac Gnahz, are you using Legendary or Classic Mode for XP? There is an issue with this working on Classic Mode. If you are not using Legendary Mode, we recommend switching to this mode on the save you are using for your playthrough, and also doing the same on your save to get Spectre status again.
I just redid it from scratch not sure what I did differently this time but it worked ! Thanks so much !
@Lrac Gnahz, glad it's worked for you, it's a bit of a dodgy little bug this one and we hope they fix it soon. As with our previous comment about the XP mode, you may also run into a few issues getting the Level X versions to appear on Classic Mode, a few people have commented that they don't appear until you've been to Virmire, but we've had them appear when our XP is at Lv25 on Legendary Mode!
