Knowing Kevin personally and how real he is… this makes me so happy to see his success! Epic film buddy!

Congrats, that’s a tough game. I spent ten years (back in the 90’s) crawling on the prarie trying to kill an 80” goat in New Mex with my bow. No blinds/no rut - no chance, right? Wrong. Just takes never give up attitude. Longer you try, the more you want it.
Can’t hide behind a decoy and just move straight towards goats, not natural and freaks them out. Cows don’t stalk Antelope. You gotta be a cow. Spend 4-5 hrs behind the deke within sight of goats and move around them but not toward them and they’ll accept you. Gradually move laterally, but closing distance, and you’ll be surprised how effective a mobile blind (decoy) will work.
If there are no cows around, an antelope decoy will work too, but if the goats aren’t rutting you need to use the deke to hide you, not to attract goats, and again, you wont see much success until you commit to spending hours in sight of the goats, moving very little, and never directly towards them.
Ain’t easy, but it works. Ask me how I know, ten years of dodging snakes, baking my head and picking cactus out of my ass until I finally killed a big goat. But how sweet it was.

Congrats! Had a very similar hunt in 2021 in WY. Anyone thinking about this hunt, DO IT! FYI, getting to 100 yards is easy, goats everywhere! But, inside 90 yards, speed goats get happy feet. (Vision 10x as good as a turkey!) IF! You get to 60 yards, take your shot, thats as close as you will get and you will be breathing heavily! Dont forget, they are half the kill zone of a mature whitetail. For me...4.5 day hunt, 400 miles in the truck, 15 miles on boots, 20+ stalks, and six misses before I connected in the final hour. More fun than a barrel of monkeys and lots of action. Great first western hunt for any bow hunter. Congrats again on your goat!

I’m guessing that was a longer range shot. Glad you didn’t mention the number. You’re a PROFESSIONAL ARCHER and average archers shouldn’t be led to believe that any distance is possible for them.

Congratulations on your nice Nevada archery 🏹 pronghorn buck. Definitely not an easy feat spot and stalk pronghorn with archery 🏹 equipment.
It’s a dream of mine to hunt pronghorn in every state that I can DIY public land (or ask permission) style that I can. No matter what weapon type gets me a tag 🏷 the quickest. That includes archery 🏹 and muzzleloader.

Love the dedication! Last season I put in 9 solid days, finally connected, only to have a coyote attack my goat. Couldn't believe my eyes. It's on my channel if you'd like to watch.

Any more details to the story? Seems like that buck fell over dead before the shot that was captured on video. Was that a follow-up?

I've hunted Antelope for years down in SE Oregon... theyre easily THE most frustrating animals to hunt IMO. Espescially with a bow.

A truly excellent film and hunt. Spot and stalk is how everyone’s hunt should be - Fair Chase.
