This is my favorite all time Cyndi Lauper song. She deserves to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I have had a crush on her since I was a kid. Now I'm in my mid 50's and I still love her 💯❣️
Her songs aged well...she was way ahead of her time and thus not taken too seriously as a vocalist. These songs would still chart to this day. A talented singer and a beautiful soul
not taken seriously as a vocalist? maybe if YOU don't have ears. the rest of us give her her due recognition as a powerhouse vocalist. stop speaking your opinion. no one else shares the same demented thoughts as you. you're wrong, and your opinion is wrong. stop talking to people, before someone actually takes what you say to be canon.
Her passion is amazing! Her body language is I don’t care what you think about me! That is true freedom just being yourself. Cyndi’s interviews are same, I’m going to do and be who I am and what I want. We’ve lost this in society.
This song is not only The Best of Cindy, it is The Best of the 80’s, criminally underrated. I recorded it back then in Cassette, 1985 or 86. UNIQUE! Thank You Cindy, it’s been more than 23 years without listening to this 💎 gem. Tears and full attention to see this video for the first time. You were better than Madonna
100% right on the money. Call the "underrated song" police 'cause we got an all-timer classic that somehow seems forgotten and overlooked. But not by all, this one is on heavy rotation in my house on this fabulous Friday :-)
You're right about Cyndi, but in the 80's when I went through basic training, all I heard over the radio was Madonna, she was about the best I've heard at the time, but when I got stationed in Germany in 1983, I thought where was Cyndi when I was going through basic, because I immediately fell in love with Cyndi after hearing her sing. I don't think one is better than the other, because they both sing different styles of music. Just my opinion, they are both at the top of my list for listening to.
Honestly..... Cyndi had a great voice when she wanted to be more serious. I really think some critics underrated her vocal talents because sometimes she did quirky light hearted stuff like "girls just wanna have fun" but songs like this showcased more range and how naturally talented she was. I loved her then, still do now. On top of everything else I always thought she was so cute and adorable!
I think if Cyndi had come before or long after the Madonna Era, she would be a greater sensation. Unfortunately , she was always under the shadow of the greater Madonna!
Great song - Cyndi really delivers! Sadly, the writer, Essra Mohawk passed away in Dec. 2023. Chic's Nile Rodgers played guitar and the Bangles sang backup. Wow~
She is just a great example for anyone...herself. unique, classy. Just an awesome person. Her music was more creative and intelligent than many others. Love this song especially.

The 80s were magical. Was lucky enough to be born May 1980 so I lived, felt and experienced this MAGICAL decade and she carried the 80s. Believe it or not, the world was more unified back then despite what history teaches.
Cyndi just throws herself into this song. I loved it back in the 80s, but never had cable or regular access to music videos back then. I never saw the video until recently, and she put even more into the video! Amazing.

My favorite of Cyndi Lauper. Cyndi, thank you for giving me a lot of happy moments in my childhood with your music. I wish one day to do the Cyndi dance if I ever visit Trafalgar Square.

In my opinion, this is the single that showcased Cyndi Lauper's diversity. It has elements of Rock, Synthpop, and striking keyboard moments.

Love her
I didn't know she was this good definitely ahead of her time maybe I can meet her in person before her passing her music is Amazing 🎉
Pra mim só existem duas no mundo fonográfico!!!! minha DEUSA do pop CHER e a imperatriz do pop Cindy lauper! amooooo
A Madonna ganha das Duas...
Escuta as músicas da Madonna live to Tell, like a flower, time stow still,a voz da Cyndi e Cher bonita !!! Piada kkkkkk....
I hadn't heard this song in ages. LOVE IT. We had the vinyl as kids when this was new...Cyndi is super underrated. 😍🥰👍👍
How can 2.1 K people dislike this song? I have loved Cyndi for 35 years. She's truly beautiful when she sings. Her look is so original.
Some of her songs haven't aged well but they ares the ones I like the most
A rainha do rock. Cindy Lauper talentosa, canta demais !!
Not Cindy...its spelled: Cyndi👍
3 percussionists and a entire all-female rock band providing back-up vocals. What extravagance!
Decades ahead of her time!
Cindy had a powerful voice. Brings me back to the 1980's when i was a teen. Great time to be a kid, Sigh! Wish i had a time Machine.
So happy 😊❤

Genius Artist!!! Cyndi was always ahead of her time. ❤
I love the 80's
This music is still from another planet!

A true original. Talented lady, who did not have to keep reinventing herself, as she is a true artist with real talent!

WOW, she`s so outstanding. Love her music since the 1st album.
You should check out the band she was on before going solo.
My favorite of Cyndi Lauper. Cyndi, thank you for giving me a lot of happy moments in my childhood with your music. I wish one day to do the Cyndi dance if I ever visit Trafalgar Square.

Forgot how great this song was. Brings great memories of the 80s!
Rick Derringer on guitar!!! I recorded with Rick and I met Cyndi back in 1985 while I was extra on a show in Los Angeles!
How was she in person
She was friendly & talkative!@@johndavis6719
Cyndi Lauper e sua voz "Única!"
The Bangles sound awesome on backing vocals
This was filmed at Piccadilly Square in London - it was a time in history we will never see again. Her voice inflections are unmatched
Trafalgar Square.

I have always loved Cindy's songs, but this one was always my favorite. I just love the energy in her voice and the way she moves that skirt.
One reason why I loved growing up in the 80's :)
