The best part of this whole experience is to see kids given hopes and dreams again. KC Hardin and his wife are doing a fantastic work in Panama and they seem very happy in living their dream. People remember that you only live once. The best to KC and his wife.

I am absolutely impressed with the work that KC has done in Panama in the "Casco Viejo". I dreamed it and he did it. My aunts and uncles live near the Casco Viejo, and as a child I always wondered, Why no one sees the value of this area. It is so historical and beautifully located. I went to High School not too far from there at the Instituto Nacional and enjoyed walking by the ruins.I was there around the 1964 riots, we lost around 21 students from Panama. May God bless you and your family KC

Revisiting "Old Panama": I was stationed at Fort Clayton from 1964 to 1966, and your piece on Panama Viejo was much appreciated. RUclips seems to have many stories on Ex-Pats, regarding relocating to this country, but your story was special--well beyond the others. Your story on life in and around this part of Panama was educational, and brought back great memories of my time in the military. From Ancon Hill to the Canal itself, my life for two years was special. Thank you and keep up your awesome journey.

I saw the restoration that was going on and wondered who was behind it. Thanks for this, KC. Casco Viejo deserves it. Good job and salute! Oh, and to me Panama is the greatest place on earth. If you come to Pedasi look us up. Pedasi Vacation Rentals, Ocean Lofts.

My mother is from Panama and when my parents got divorced we moved to Panama from 72' to 75' and I loved, I lived in Casco Viejo on Calle 3rd and I was surrounded by places like Las Bovedas, El Teatro National, Parque Boliviar, Iglesia San Fransisco, it was an old neighborhood but it was so much fun ! I go visit my family two three times a year, I'd recommend go to Panama and Casco Viejo has been all remodeled and it's full of Restaurants, Clubs and some beautiful new Hotels.... Just about everyone speaks English and they use American currency, the people are so friendly and make you feel so welcomed... So I recommend to take a trip to Panama you won't regret it I promise !!!

I stayed in his hostel "Mondo Taitu" in bocas del toro. It has writings on all the walls from travelers in the past which was really cool. The place isnt the nicest hostel in Bocas but its alright. The day I was there, the power went out in the hostel so I got really dehydrated because there was no running water and no fans. Good times in bocas, I wouldn't trade them for the world! Casco Viajo is an amazing place and I was there around 3-4 years ago and its very very beautiful, we didnt get a chance to hang out much there but I will on my next trip

Just returned from panama city. If you are going to drive a car. be prepared , the traffic is horrendous. take a cab. Infrastructure is lacking. A place of huge buildings and poor roads and signage. . can ruin your experience. I live in
florida. I thought costa rica , panama would be my place. After visiting both places. I came to the realization I live in Paradise. For me , , I feel so blessed to live in the US. It's not for me. It may be for others. Just take your time to experience the country. It may be a differnent experience for you! Stay in the Riu hotel. WONDERFULL EXPERIENCE!

I am more intrigued by simple jungle life as OPPOSED to the same ole city life. I am saddened by some of the intrusive modernity. Are there people working towards protecting the natural beauty of the country? Foreigners come in with money and forget about the lives of indigenous peoples as opposed to a grand wedding venue.

I have run businesses here and been very involved in the local community (after 20 years in NYC) and originally from Australia. Its a great place if you are willing to be VERY flexible. Lots of opportunities too but you will WORK!
