real fkn journalism! What a delight!
You're a rare breed one has to search with a magnifier even today with the internet and all.
You and a handfull of other journalists out there are the reason to not lose hope in humanity for me.
Thanks, vice! Keep'em coming & stay awesome.
Vice, the content is magnificent, but the length of the parts are somewhat short. I think that since this documentary is so important, the videos should be a bit longer, like around 10 mins. I understand it takes a lot of time to edit but the viewers would love longer videos, just to hold us over until more stuff comes out.
So far I am loving this documentary, great job Vice!
Can't wait for part 3,,enjoying seeing how it looks now and what the people really think
This is what i was just searching for, Thanks vice!
such a great documentary so far. vice, you're the shit. such great work
Vice needs the support and consider that some people use adblocks so they don't get anything revenue from those views.
Independent news media is rare as is honesty in journalism.
Can't wait till part 3!
Im really enjoying this series of episodes!
This series is legit. Very good Vice!
vice rules. love stuff like this. please keep it up! what about some stuff about eastern europe? serbia?
They're releasing one video a day I think, even though I prefer to watch parts in succession, it's better than nothing.
VICE please upload your documentaries in one part.
Ah release more, this is the first time a news report has actually caught my attention, I'm eager as hell to see what you covered, please Vice more videos like this and the cannibal warlords of Liberia, cover things the media refuses to cover.
Ahhh I wish they would just upload all 4 parts at once!
the vice intro man...hard on the ears.
my right ear really enjoyed the Vice News transmission noises.
thanks for the insight and somewhat objektive point of view, sometimes I could like some raw material instead of the reporter telling me everything.
anyway it is exciting to hear about the whole thing and the changes it have brought with it.
Great, but next time upload an entire documentary in one part.
suroosh alvi is back .. yayyyyyyy
And its our duty as people from all over the world to spread journalism like this since its unbiased.
They do this to try to give out these awesome docs directly, while we are watching 2/4 one of the vice geniuses is probably creating the 3rd.
All this and ad revenue helps support them so they can even make these kinds of documentaries.
I suppose if you sent them a big fat cheque they might consider uploading it in one chunk. But come on, you're getting a free ride, show some appreciation...
Because of VICE, I'm seeing a lot of countries in a whole new different perspective.
Might have to do with file size. It may be easier to upload 4 high quality chunks of one video rather than have to compress the entire video in one file, which degrades the quality.
What happened to the other guys from the band ? Any follow ups ?
It's far from a small group of people, check out the Vice HQ tour video they put up
They are actually a large magazine with over 1,000,000 youtube subscribers.
why are the parts so short! wheres the full version!
How come ads load in HD no problem but it barely loads 480P after buffering for 2 mins
And it's a lot bigger and older than their RUclips channel.
where are the rest of these videos?
Exactly, which why im on vice's leg every week!
VICE is a huge magazine that sells all over the world. This isn't a small group of people who make youtube videos.
is part 3 up yet ?
Yea but its grown rapidly.
I remember reading vice magazines in Montreal back in the day.
Forever killing it.
The static at the start murdered my ear lol
this is why i love vice :)
that bomb explosion was nuts u could see the air waves move so fucking fast crazy shit good video
I need to find the song they used for the intro!
Where is part 3 and 4
I can't find episode 3? ):
making me wait a day for part 2 vice oh my not kool! I want my cake now dammnit! lmao, still love ya tho!
I would personally rather to give my fav news source more ad revenue.
And us viewers are a part of it.
It might be for hits but it could also easily be due to attention span of the audience. For example a song is considered long if it goes more then 3 minutes. 7 minute segments are less 'intimidating' and/or perhaps able to hold attention better then a 35 minute video. Like if you see a 400 page book, it might do better as 3 170 page books because its less intimidating.
God, I HATE that startup audio clip - WHY do you freakin' force that on us?!
Proper Documentary this 1 Vice... Nice 1 XD
I'd rather have one large documentary. I can wait.
Drives me crazy when they upload one part every day... Ugh
Why do we have to wait till tomorrow :(
seriously wheres part 3
I was buggin when i read the title... I thought it read "In Sadaams Shower".
I sure hope there's a McDonalds in Part 3 or 4.
Iraq is so metal, even the imam is called methal
This series does a good job at humanising the Islamic and Iraq people. I am Muslim and was born in a western county and I have people be surprised that I'm Islamic and yet not a complete nut.
All we need to do is spread this idea that we are all the same.
CHANGE OR REMOVE THE INTRO!
Vice isn't exactly "a small group of people doing youtube videos". I see what you're saying though.
Ok I know this is a serious matter in iraq but I lost it at 4:06 when he said "look at this fucking shit, man" lol XD
lol me too
i think part of it is the fact that someone has to edit what is sometimes hundreds of hours of footage just to bring you a free documentary, and still the complainers when they seek ad revenue.
Was there a film on netflixs about this "heavy metal band"?
blew my fuckin speaker >.> thanks for the intro vice
It's not that that small nor that huge. Not as huge as Fox or CNN or anything, but huge enough to have its own large office with a lot of staff. I just watched a Vice video on a "behind-the-scenes" at Vice where they tour their office. Check that out.
Good video
love this
More views is probably the reason. I know it kinda sucks but I feel vice needs that extra cash.
I agree. I think they do it for psychological reasons, to keep it like a tv channel, keep you comiing back, make you more familiar with them, rather than watching everything in one shot and not coming back. Also makes people more likely to subscribe, so they dont forget to look for the next part. Cynical but effective.
again, very bad translation, who translates for you?
Religion is a prison for your mind.
So they consider Americans to be a negative influence, but blowing each other up because of the way they interpret teachings in an ancient book is positive?
the translation is wrong
vice is taking over
Forget it, he probably thinks Vice isn't biased.
Mohammad, Koran or Islam in general, are no excuses for the hatred of Muslims. Period.
Please change that intro, Vice.
R.I.P all headphones users
its my birthday during the 10 year anniversary today
GREAT REPORTING,, WELL DONE,, STAY SAFE PLEASE
They need to stop splitting these into parts.
It's relatively tiny compared to mainstream media though.
If the middle east didn't have any oil, the usa wouldn't have started wars/"helped" the citizens...
True.. but these clips are not free to make. I dont really mind it.
I love VICE more than anyone ;)
They get ad revenue per view. Splitting a video into 3 pieces = 3 times the AD views and 3 times the revenue. They do it for money.
How do you know that?
In 10 years? Watch Robert Fisk, John Pilger, Jon Snow's Dispatches programmes. Check out the channel for The Frontline Club.
There is amazing journalism out there, and it's all at your fingertips.
Its free because we don't pay money to watch the videos. If it was not free (which you obviously don't understand the meaning of it, but i will hope you google it, or look in a dictionary) then we would have to pay money. Before we could watch it would say "Please pay (INSERT PRICE HERE) to watch (INSERT VIDEO NAME HERE) by vice"
VICE isn't exactly a "small group of people".
His ideas of peace and prosperity is completely different from yours in a way you can't even fathom because you didn't grow up where and with the people he did.
Where is the dog fight one????????????
God gave rock and roll to you, put it in the souls of everyone.
you guys upload 3 or 4 bullshit Spring Break videos in one day and upload the good stuff piece by piece one day at a time..
jeans have been around since the 17th century at least. just because some dude put rivets on the pockets doesnt mean he invented them. read up on history
good thing I always check the comments first.
I am not advocating religious states but showing that evil can come with non-religious states too. They don't have an organized religious state based on religion. The USSR was declared a non-religious state in fact and atheist. Us humans are one of hell of a species whether or not we are religious we seem to ruin something.
Technology and culture dont require government to make progress. In fact they tend to hinder it.
Government slows progress and trys to micro-manage, but fails. How come our school system is producing worse and worse grades despite ever increasing federal funding? A compeditive school system would allow for schools to adapt to technology, which are underused and under-taught in public school, and I know this i graduated 3 years ago. Ive learned more on RUclips and Google than i had in high school. You talk about what government CAN DO. I talk about what they ACTUALLY DO.
Fully agree with you mate. However, I believe many Christian countries have genuinely moved on from the church, simply because the church of Christianity allows freedom to some extent, Islam does not.
Seeing things for what they are and not for what our media portrays it as.
Seems a lot safer than before. Good. I wish the best for the Iraqi people.
