It was the ending in Powerless that saved the book for me and made me pickup the second book. There are no trials in the second book and even though I didn't love the first book, and only gave it 3 stars, I absolutely LOVED the second book and rated it a 5 star. Can't wait to pickup the final book in this trilogy.
